The process was easy to setup and schedule but the communication was extremely difficult. My move was scheduled to be delivered on a Sunday but they blocked my emails and number(admitted by the customer service rep) and I couldn't reach customer service. They missed my delivery because of this. I had to wait 3 more days to have my containers dropped off, thus costing me delivery charges and hiring a mover to complete the process. We went with U-Pack because we needed something we could control for some of our items. We didn't want anyone else moving these boxes due to the fragility of the items inside. We looked at everything else in the industry and U-Pack seemed to be the best solution. I can say with no hesitation that U-Pack was the perfect choice. We could not ask anything more of them. They were super communicative and made the whole process as simple as possible. There was nothing to be concerned about because they kept you informed the entire time. Either through the portal or by calling us. I would use U-Pack again in the future for sure. We moved from Pasadena to Pittsburgh and were very satisfied with the service. It's a huge plus that we can get transparent quote online without having to call them, unlike PODS, and it was much cheaper too. We saved $3k compared to PODS. Communication was super easy and efficient. There's no long wait on the phone. The delivery and pickup both went pretty well. Customer service is top notch! Very affordable as well. My relocube was smaller than I imagined BUT all my stuff fit (thanks to my amazing movers). If you have a lot of stuff, you do have to be creative with packing, but it can work. You can also reserve an additional cube just in case and if you don't use it, they don't charge you. Moved from Los Angeles to New York and overall I am happy with the service. They are the cheapest out of all the companies I have inquired. The items came intact with no damage. My only advice is if you can load at Pacoima location instead of Pico Rivera, do it. Pico Rivera center had terrible communication. Like how can you not let people know in the middle of loading that the next day you will be paving the road! So the next day, we came with a uhaul full of stuff and we cannot load! Thank goodness for Upack Rep named Connor who was able to advice us to go to Pacoima center instead. People working there are so much nicer. Will I use them again? Pricing was good and the local guy dropping the trailer off in Los Angeles was very helpful. Everything arrived on time, and was in the same shape as it was when we loaded it. I moved to a rural area, so they don't have as many drivers available. It took them about a week to pick it up after I scheduled it for the next day. My brother used this for his move from Pasadena to Dallas. The truck arrived with the lock broken and everything inside was upside down and ruined. I have posted a picture of what the truck looked like when it arrived. When they called the company they were just told to file a claim. I don't understand how the truck was left alone long enough for someone to break into it and destroy it completely. read more

I have used U-Pack on at least seven cross-country moves. Each one has been perfect. The cube was delivered and then removed at the times I requested, and nothing within the cube was broken. I could not say the same for times when we have had professional moving companies move us. Of course, it is important to pack the cube tightly, so that there is no shifting of objects as the truck goes across the country. Using ratchet type straps to secure objects to the walls is helpful. I will never again use a professional moving company. This is a cheaper and more reliable of getting things moved. read more

After doing some research moving out of state you will most likely not deal with the mover, you will deal with a third party and don't know how will take your belongings to your new destination. U-Pack dose the move, easy to deal with, pack the trailer and how much room you use, you get charged for the room. make sure you get a good packer / Lowder. The charge is a lot lower than any moving company. Your plans will change when you move, and they are very easy to change your plans, weather is a big one, if you're moving in the winter, they changed the trailer schedule to drop off two times with no problems. they deliver our belongings in a very reasonable timeline. We moved from Denver to LA and thought driving a U-Haul with our stuff would be the cheapest option. We were shocked to find out that shipping our stuff would actually cost less, so we started looking into shipping companies. I read sooo many bad reviews about almost every shipping company until I found U-pack. Almost all the reviews were good so I decided to give them a try. Everything I had read was spot on. They're super punctual, all the drivers and customer service reps are extremely friendly, and our pod arrived right when they said it would. Move in progress !! I just have to say I called every company you can imagine. Storage pod , pack rat , uhaul,,, all of these companies were way overpriced and just had horrible reviews. Storage pod kept overcharging me for storage fees and did not guarantee moving within 5 days. Finally after searching we found upack!!!! Our situation--- moving from cali to Texas with 2 babies and 2 dogs... stressful at it is I Wanted guaranteed delivery within 5 days and guess what UPACK can do it!!!! So far we are happy. Ordered one U-Pack Container for my cross country move from Los Angeles, CA to Indiana. Cost $1988 (L.A. apartment to Indiana terminal). Overall great experience and very friendly staff. Inside measurements exactly what they told me and no hidden fees. Overall great experience and highly recommend. Pros: +All staff very friendly, helpful and answered any questions I had. +Amazing how quick and easy they lift the cube on and off the flat bed truck. +Very safety conscious co. during COVID (staff wore masks & checked my temperature at terminal pickup). +No excess or hidden fees. Only charged me what they quoted me and didn't even charge my card until AFTER pick up of the container. Cons: -delivery of container in L.A. was a few hours late. I was told it would arrive between 8am-12pm but after eagerly waiting 3 hours I received a phone call around 11am it wouldn't be there until 2 or 3. Finally arrived around 2:30pm. That makes it difficult when you've arranged moving help - so word of advice - potentially expect delayed arrival. -the container was not able to be delivered to my final address (too far in the country in Indiana) had to incur additional expenses to rent a U-Haul trailer to unpack my U-PACK container at the closest terminal, then repack it into the U-Haul trailer, then drive it to my destination, and unpack it again. Way too much excess work. UPACK should highly consider delivering even if it's an extra charge to deliver to country addresses. Notes: You only need one lock, but I bought two just for safety. $25 for 2 Master Lock Magnums from Home Depot worked perfectly. $18 bubble wrap $10 for 4 Husky Ratchet Straps $25 dollar store 8+ bunjee cords, lots packing tape, etc. Inside measurements were exactly what they told me. Length (side of cube): 5'10" (70 inches) Width (where front doors are): 6'10" (82 inches) Height 7'9" (93 inches) Highly suggest putting down any type of padding or blanket also under items! (bec I didn't do this the vibration of the move destroyed a luxury lamp. I had it bubble wrapped everywhere except the bottom. ughh. The vibration cracked the ceramic bottom into many pieces but my fault for not wrapping bottom.) Use your own blankets, sheets, pillow cases, etc to wrap & use LOTS of bubble wrap. Most people will need a step ladder to pack to the very top. Just a fun game of tetris and building muscles! Make the most of it & try to enjoy it! I will try to post pics soon. read more

Easy to work with this company. Very helpful with questions and was great they dropped off box and if didn't use, I wasn't charged. Gave ample time to load and unload but didn't pick up when said and took a little longer to arrive than expected. Overall a pleasant experience. Much better than using a moving company. read more

Moving halfway across the country, we got quotes from all the big companies and this was by far our best option. At the origin point in Los Angeles, trailers were delivered outside of the delivery window, but did arrive that day. We hired local movers and packed the trailers in a day. Trailers were picked up the following day on schedule. We only paid for what we used and having that flexibility was a stress reliever compared to dealing with the pay-by-weight companies. Transport was fast. We were contacted by Quincy near the destination point, and trailers were delivered on time. Great communication with the destination facility and our driver, Doug, was exceptional. Precision driving and such a nice guy. We'll definitely use UPack again. read more

We had a $12k estimate from a big moving company. I went with U-pack and just hired local movers to load the trailer, got it to storage for a month, then hired another set of movers to unload. It was sorta more work to have to deal with logistics myself, but seriously, $12k for calling a few folks? Anyway, U-pack trailer and storage for a month was $3k, Los Angeles packing and loading 3 bedroom into truck $2.5k, Flagstaff unloading was $375, equals a bit under $6k. Half of what I was quoted. My only note was that I had to deal with a wildcard of freight subcontractors that had okay phone personalities. There was a bit of calling to have to arrange drop-off. I don't care about stuff like that, but I can see someone else getting annoyed. read more

I had a terrific experience with U-Pack and am so thrilled I found them for my move. Not only were they the least expensive option, but the customer service was terrific and every person from my pickup in LA to my drop off in Chicago, was helpful and super nice. When I requested a change, a home delivery rather than my picking up at the facility, they made it happen and it was the same cost as if I'd booked that in the first place. They were also sooo kind, to boot. You do need to do all packing and filling of the cube yourself and I was very fortunate that I had all of my items ready and nearly all packed to go already, not to mention a great friend to assist prepping and help me fill the cube in a torrential LA downpour. I do suggest making certain you have tied all items down well and securely. When the cube arrived just one item had shifted but all was intact and nothing broken. But you are responsible to make certain your things are secure, given they never even see inside. You are the only one with your keys to the kingdom, so to speak. I hope I don't have a move again, but if so, I would absolutely choose U-Pack. read more

UPack was the only thing that went exactly as promised in my move. They delivered on time on both ends, no hidden fees, clear communication - excellent experience. You are charged only for the feet of the trailer you use. There's a wall you lock in place after you load (with your own padlock) so your items are secure and never touched by anyone but you or your team. We chose U-Pack based on reviews and recommendations. Their price was the best and the space was the largest. We had a 4 bedroom, 2,400sq ft home and we fit it all into the 26' truck. They delivered on time and customer service was easy, I didn't feel like I was dealing with a broker trying to beat someone else's price. Our move was tricky as we had a 3 week gap between leaving our old home and closing in our new home. They held our truck a few days until it could be delivered on closing day. Prepare to get robbed. This service might work in decent cities, but LA is far from decent, that's why you're here looking at moving services. Don't make the mistake I did, just pony up the extra grand or two on a real door to door service, because this one isn't the deal that it appears to be. I loaded my trailer, watched it be picked up without a hitch, but when it arrived at my new location a week later, I opened it to find thousands of dollars worth of items missing or damaged by looters. ABF, the parent company, claimed to have no footage at their facility indicating theft, but suspiciously was very willing to offer a settlement far above my coverage with them in order to prevent legal action. Regardless, due to their weight-based insurance policies, this settlement covered less than 10% of the loss value and I had to resort to my own homeowners insurance to make up the difference. I read about all the horrors of the PODS and moving but I was pleasantly surprised with U-Pack. Given that I was an AAA member, I received a discount as AAA recommends U-Pack. They were on time in dropping off and then picking up the U-Pack POD. My move was cross country, from the west coast to the east coast, the arrival time was supposed to be on the 12th of the month, but it came on the 8th of the month. The POD was held until I got back to the east coast and could have it delivered. The POD was on time for drop off and pickup was great as well. Highly recommend U-Pack. read more

Cheapest moving company we could find. They can give you a quote online or over the phone. Straight foward costs, no hidden fees. Our trailer was dropped off and picked up on time. Nothing was damaged and everything was there. But you are responsible for packing your trailer. So make sure you have plenty of tie downs and everything is packed tight so things don't shift during transportation. The trailer has e-tracks which is helpful. They provide tracking of your trailer too. Actually took less time than quoted to get our trailer from CA to TN which was a huge plus! Made moving easy. We got the whole trailer (27 ft) and paid about $7500 total. We moved from a 4bd/4bth house. Would def recommend to anyone moving far distances with a lot of belongings. read more

Initial review - to be updated after we finish our move. This is only from the perspective of contacting their company and having a 28' truck/pod delivered to the curb in front of our house. We were overwhelmed as we began to sift through our various options - moving companies, rent a truck and drive it ourselves, get a pod...what's a pod?? Or just throw our hands in the air and call the Salvation Army & donate everything we have, then walk away. I was skeptical after entering our moving details on a website (I wish I could remember which one it was so that I could warn everyone). Because immediately, we began to receive multiple calls with bids and offers from pod places, moving companies, and I don't know who, offering their services for our move from California to Idaho. I then attempted to trudge through Yelp reviews & BBB ratings for some of the companies that contacted us. Somehow I stumbled upon ABF/U-Pack. There were mixed reviews on some of their Yelp pages, but nothing that screamed "SCAM." Their customer service over the phone was amazingly wonderful. I've called them at least 5 different times to discuss various issues and concerns. They are so nice! They walked me through the entire process & left me feeling completely confident in their services. The 28' truck/pod was delivered curbside, directly in front of our house as promised. You have to be home when they do drop it off, so that you can tell them exactly where you want it. After we finish loading the truck, we'll call them and arrange a pickup time/day (Yes, I'm taking a break from loading the truck so that I can Yelp about it). Once they take the truck/pod, you've got a couple options: 1. Have it delivered to a specific address & left for you to unload over the course of several business days. 2. Have it shipped to a storage facility. That includes an additional monthly charge of around $390 for the 28' truck/pod. When you're ready for it to be delivered, you just call them & they bring it from storage to your new address. I highly recommend U-Pack Moving. read more

I arranged to have the trailer dropped off at my home for a move across the country. The initial service agent was polite, professional and informative. The driver made it to our home right at the time they quoted. The ease of loading it ourselves was wonderful. The Dashboard to follow our "personal trailer" was a great feature. The dispatchers at both the pickup and drop off locations were easy to get ahold of and able to answer all our questions and concerns. The trailer made it to our destination early, and that driver was accommodating and professional, We had the trailer unloaded in one day, and everything was in perfect condition! Horrible customer service! Don't recommend this company ever! I have been using upack every month for my small furniture business. There's a huge communication barrier between upack and abf which happens to own upack. I normally load my items at a terminal in Del Ray beach Florida and gets delivered to Los Angeles. The location at Del Ray is horrible since they literally took two empty pods without notice assuming that it was all loaded and finished. Well it took me several days trying to reach someone at upack to get this solved. I spoke with Amber who is the "supervisor". She didn't really empathize with me since I lost money and time having to hire movers to load my items in the pod to realize the pods were missing. We settled to an agreement and she reimbursed me, we planned on another schedule to do the pods to find out the pods were missing yet again. The lack of communication at the terminal location is beyond me. They have zero care of what pods are there. I tried calling for hours to get a hold of someone who can actually help. The upack customer service number directs me automatically to the location where I live and not to corporate. I was then transferred to Neil who is another supervisor. Told me I should go elsewhere since they don't handle small businesses. Also said that it should only take "1 hour" to load everything in 2 pods. He found no solution for me and wanted to end the call because I was stating I'm a small business. My small business is moving furniture items from across states. I was then transferred to Chelsea who is another supervisor that agreed with everyone else saying I should only be moving household items. Does she not understand that furniture is household items? She stated she's been there for over 60 years and that she's never had an issue with customers loading items into 2 pods within 1 hour. I'm going to keep reaching out until I speak to a manager (higher up) that manages all three of those supervisors. It seems all 3 supervisors are incompetent/ lack great customer service skills and communication. This needs to get handled correctly, they also just lost my business. I've spent over 15k with them but I'm happy to go with a different company. I had to share this horrible experience because no one should ever have to go through this or deal with horrible communication and disrespect!!!
