I would never recommend this place to any Subaru owner ever. Uehara Motowerkz was the only place I let work on my car due to their own promotion of being capable to work on Subarus. After a year or so going to them, out of nowhere, this business up and disappears - they aren't at this address listed on here anymore. They're just gone. I decided to take my car somewhere else after a year of not being able to locate this business, like the actual Subaru dealer. Subaru let me know whoever was tightening the bolts on my engine and anything involved in my car was using a drill rather than hand tightening them causing bolts to be stripped and morphed. Uehara MotoWerks also told me they would be using true genuine Subaru parts just for Subaru to tell me my o2 sensor is an aftermarket part. Like what the HELL. I regret taking my car here. read more

I have 2 Subarus which are reliable, but when something does need fixing, it gets expensive. For example, I asked the dealer for a quote just to remove a filter to the turbo and i was quoted 450 bucks and an estimated 6 hours of work. I took it to Mori and he did that, plus install a new turbo, fuel pump, turbo inlet, and odd and ends for about that same price. The turbo inlet was a beast to install. All the Subaru forums have long stories about how long it takes for the Perrin inlet to be installed. Mori did it within the price quote he gave me. My only regret is not having known about Uehara Motowerks sooner. When i look back at all the expensive recent repairs, I can only wonder how much i would have saved. It is nice to see someone that actually enjoys what they do. Sometimes you go to chain stores and they don't seem to care. Mori puts in the extra hours to do the job right which is rare these days. Nothing has broken down lately but I did get a used car since my last review and had its oil and trans fluid changed to ENEOS and inspected by Mori the owner. Mori does it again! I recently got an aftermarket stereo put in my 2012 Subaru Legacy. I love the stereo, but the installer apparently goofed and did something to cause intermittent codes to come up. I went back to them, but they blamed the stereo manufacturer. I basically decided to live with it. Well, i took my car to Uehara Motowerks for its regular oil change. Just in passing, i mentioned to Mori that everythings fine except i get these flashing lights ever since i got this stereo. Mori says something like "Oh, they must have tapped into a ground wire. I'll take a look". Mori removes all the offending wires tapping into the Canbus into the stereo (the stereo shows RPM and vehicle speed when wired correctly). It was 2+ hours of work! I was just charged the hourly factory rate. Awesome! A week later - no codes, no flashing lights! I was worried that when i sold the car, i'd take a big hit in price due to the flashing lights. Also, in the summer time, the car would actually want to stall, so this is a big deal Mori fixing this. Do yourself a favor and see them first, but definitely go to them when you need a master mechanic. i couldn't be happier. read more

A hidden gem for all the Japanese car enthusiasts. The owner, Mori, is very knowledgeable and does great work. He helped me keep my old '95 Subaru Outback in good running shape and installed Forester suspension on it to lift it. Since I've upgraded to a '13 WRX he has put in an Exedy clutch with lightened flywheel, and a Kartboy short shifter kit that I didn't have time to install myself. He's very friendly and his turn around time is usually pretty quick. There have been multiple times where he would keep working past closing time to get my car finished. If all of that isn't enough to convince you, just go and check out his shop yourself. It's always jam packed with all sorts of interesting cars which speaks volumes on the quality of work he does. I have gone to Mori twice for car repairs and each time I have left feeling more than satisfied. My first visit with him was to replace my starter. He fixed the starter along with my radio connection, which had been broken for years. He apparently fixed some disconnected wiring. The second visit was to replace some tires and to also replace 2 wheel bearings. Let me just say that I have had my car for 9 years and it drives better than it ever has. When I bought this car, the car would kind of shake when going over 65 mph. I had new tires put on, an alignment, etc...and none of that stopped it. He was able to pin point the problem, which was a bent piece that attaches to the wheel bearing-wish I could remember the name of it. He replaced this part and it completely fixed the issue.. Since then, I have driven my car up to 80 mph-shake free!! He is great at what he does, reasonable with parts and labor, and honest. As a woman, I have never really felt I could trust a mechanic. But for the first time, I DO. I would recommend him to anyone!! read more

I was looking & calling shops all day to install my aftermarket suspension. The dealer and other shops were quoting up to $1000 for a simple install that would take and hour or so. So I never write reviews. Uehara Motowerks and how special the owner Mori is forces me to . If I didn't write one it would be plain wrong. I don't want that on my conscience. Now, for those of you know about keeping good things a secret, I hate to let this out, people already know how great this place is and I'm beginning to regret shooting myself in the foot by doing this. I may have to wait longer now to get my car in because he's going to add a lot more clients. There are a lot of little things about my experience what were impressive,and i could write a lot more, but I'm trying to be short. I'm the pickiest brutally- honest, ready to throwdown type of customer. I'm such a douche because I'm not perfect but I expect perfection from people work on my stuff ( total jackass). Below are three things that really made me feel like I was lucky to find an honest and talented professional like Mori. 1. I won't go into makes and models. But I wasn't sure I could find a shop who I knew my car in and out. After a few days of looking, I decided to go with the best I could find. By chance, Mori's name was mentioned online by someone and that he worked on cars, and I thought he'll probably be a bit more knowledgeable or at least I could talk to him. When I first met him, he said whats going on , and I told him my problem. Then I said, "I guess i could do this or that..." I know enough about cars to know the problem and the fix. Am I good enough to do it?, no way, and do I skills or tools and parts?, nope. So when I told 3 things i think would work, I expected him to go with one solution and agree with me, give me a breakdown of the parts, and explain what he had to do and costs, and time if would take. Instead, He say " Nah.... I'd just probably do this and see what happens, and you should be okay." So I didn't want to talk shop with him or doubt him, because he was clearly way more knowledgeable than anyone I met, but I addressed concerns and he answered them in ways I didn't expect. Like how the age and condition of the part could affect different things. I mean most people tell you this is how you fix this, and they will fix it, and it will more times than not get fixed, but " Nah...." Thats someone who knows a lot and is really telling you the honest truth from his years of experience trying to save you some bucks while doing the best possible job out there. 2. Sorry, getting long, hate long reviews. Second thing was I asked some guys at the auto parts store about a small part I needed, they looked and said they couldn't find any store or the computer system and that they don't make that part anymore. I asked for something similar to modify and they said it wasn't gonna work, and that my best bet would not be to look online even , but junkyards. Thats what I expected, so I wasn't devastated , I couldn't just give up. I really didn't wanna start going to junk yards. I went back in and searched every isle of the store and found something similar. I thought hard and I did my best to modify it and thought i fixed it...at least to where it didn't drive me nuts. I mentioned this to Mori , he fixed it perfectly with the perfect part at a fraction of the cost. He told me the part was easy to find ( I'm not sure if he did something special, I'm still suspicious, but the invoice shows almost nothing for the part) 3. I can change my own oil or use a drive through station close by, But just for even something relatively simple like an oil change I will drive 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back to get it done at his shop. There Isn't a doubt in my mind, for even any minor to major work, I would probably drive a day and back if not more. Just had a little accident today, broke the plastic on the taillight. Called the shop, Mori remembered exactly who I was and told me that he can fix it. I panicked and the minute it happened, I started looking online for parts, I would have wasted a lot of time and money. He saved me again. So the secret is out, I hope I can get an appointment when I need to . But all jokes aside, In all fairness to him and his establishment, no matter how busy it gets Mori is the kind of guy who takes care of all his customers with the same gold standard and beyond. He had my car ready sooner than promised. I was not going to make it in time from work , he offered to wait for me which I appreciated, but it was two to three hours later, but said he is staying late to work on some cars anyway. I went the next day before closing and talked to him briefly cause he was not done for the day. The shop was still going. I love what I do , but I'm not stay extra hours unless its an emergency. And then I realized I found a place I can trust that would work on every car like it was their own. read more
