Great pizza...a little something different for someone who is a strict traditionalist when it comes to a pie. Too many toppings to list- I made my own with rosemary wheat crust, thai peanut chicken, rosemary, and motz cheese. It was fantastic. Prices ok, but what you'd expect for a chain, a bit high. Chintz factor high as well with the psuedo sufer motif, but hey, it is Myrtle, right? Service was great. Bottle beer, wine, and booze. No draft- their taps don't work when it's over 60 degrees....interesting for a beach town. We went here because we love river city and wanted to give this a shot as well. After looking at the menu - which is extensive we chose the big kahuna. I do like the amount of choices they have but when I'm paying 20.0 dollars for one pizza called "The Big Kahuna" I expect it to be bigger than what I got. The taste was good (the smoked gouda made it) but I don't forsee this being a regular stop for us when we are here. I can go to a few other pizza places and spend that money and get good quality and quantity. I also want to mention we didn't know there was a drive through to pick up orders and they seemed annoyed because we came inside to pick it up. I really used to think I loved Hawaiian pizza's. But after eating one at Ultimate California Pizza, I realize that I was wrong all along. There's was that much better than any I had before. To me Hawaiian pizza just had ham and pineapple. When I saw that theirs also included chopped dates and coconut, my curiosity was definitely sparked. I'd never thought to put either of those toppings on a pizza, so these people must be crazy I thought. Boy was I wrong! The dates and coconut actually made the pizza AMAZING. I haven't eaten another Hawaiian pizza since then because I know it won't be as good. From now on the only Hawaiian pizza I will eat is at Ultimate California Pizza in Myrtle Beach SC. The wife also had a pizza stuffed full of steak and grilled onions. It was really good too. This place is hands down the best pizza place I've ever been to. While looking at on line menus for a pizza to be delivered to our room at the Breakers one from California Pizza caught my eye, The Black and Bleu. Steak tender loin marinated in herb and garlic infused EVOO, marinated portabella mushrooms, red onions, tomatoes, bleu cheese crumbles and Monterey jack cheese. Yep that's the one I want! Order take and delivery driver were friendly and pizza arrived on time and was great! Gave our usual pizza from Pizza Shak some real competition! GAS STATION PIZZA If you think Papa Johns is a good pizza you may not know the difference but if you have any sense and sensability about you and understand how Pizza is supposed to taste, this is absolutely garbage pizza. I would highly recommend finding anything else. It is barely edible. It is a salt brick on top of dried bread. The sauce tastes like sugared tomatoes, the cheese is unrecognizable and all the toppings have got to be the lowest quality ingredients available. Tasty pizza and much better than California Pizza Kitchen. There are a large variety of cheeses, sauces, and toppings, and you can make substitutions to any specialized pizza. They have individual sizes so everyone can enjoy their own special creation. They also have a decent amount of beers on tap, including Blue Moon. It has a surfer theme with a little bar. Service - We had attentive, informative, and prompt service. No complaints there. Food - We had an order of breadsticks. Nothing remarkable there. Think Olive Garden. We then had 2 personal pizzas. They were both pretty good. They are not NY pizzas or even CPK. They are CPK like. One was the lighter pizza which had a bunch veggies and chicken on it and the other was their white pizza which was tasty. I would not make this a destination stop, but if I was in the area and hungry I would not hesitate to stop in. The one con is that it was really loud inside the place. The manager who answered the phone was super-helpful and patiently helped me find my way there. Hubs ordered a Berkeley, a veggie pizza, and loved it, even the onions which he normally doesn't like but they were so thinly sliced that they didn't overpower the pizza. I got a small Thai chicken with peanuts. So good. Had the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. Would definitely order that again.
