I bought a 2020 Audi from Ultimo Motors, and within a few days, it was displaying a bunch of electrical issues with the doors/latches as well as the trunk needed new gas struts because the trunk would open then drop a few inches down. Another issue it had was the AC motor needed to be replaced because it was very loud. I took the car to Audi and they did an inspection and told me these issues/failures/faults have been there for a while so its obvious that Ultimo Motors never serviced the car but instead tried to hide all of these issues. When I first went to see the car a few months ago Ben pulled it out and parked it, by the time I walked out there, the trunk was already open, the ac was on full blast so I am assuming that these were known issues and if I didnt notice the trunk drop as it opens I wouldnt have asked any questions. Also since the ac was on full blast, we couldnt hear the faulty motor. I even purchased the extended warranty for $5500 and the finance person told me that it starts the day of purchase so when i told him about the issues i was having, he told me to take it to Audi for diagnostics and repair. Whe I took the car to Audi to get those issues repaired less than a month after i bought it, the warranty repair was rejected stating that there is a 45 day elimination period wjere the deslership would be responsible for any issues within the first 45 days! Ben stopped responding to all my emails and texts, but when i called the office line he answered and said hed let his manager know about this and that hed give me a call back. I never heard back from him, so I started reaching out the manager myself and tried to get them to pay for the repairs which amounted to about $2600 at the time for the ac motor, and door latch replacements. The manager offered $400 at first but after multiple emails he agreed to send me a check for $1000, even though this should have all been covered by them. DO NOT BUY from this unethical dealership. Within 24 hours and only 70 miles of driving, the car suffered a major powertrain failure (P1129, Limp Mode, and transmission 5th/6th gear lockout). Forensic ECU data reveals a -8.6% Long Term Fuel Trim, proving the defect was pre-existing and undisclosed at the time of sale. Despite this, the dealership is refusing to honor the mandatory 15-day/500-mile powertrain warranty required by Illinois Law (815 ILCS 505/2L). I have already filed a formal complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's Consumer Fraud Bureau (Timestamp: 2026-01-30 08:06:30 PM), BBB and have notified the Secretary of State Police Dealer Licensing division. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! 2021 E63 S AMG I purchased a 2021 E63 S AMG with approximately 33,000 miles from Ultimo Motors. The car was overpriced by about $5,000 and they would not negotiate on the price, but it was my ideal spec so I decided to move forward with the purchase. Before buying the vehicle, I had a pre-purchase inspection performed at a nearby Mercedes-Benz dealership. I was told by Ultimo Motors to talk to Blake. I was told the car was very clean, so I completed the purchase. I drove the car home from Chicago to St. Louis and only two days later the check engine light came on. I immediately took the vehicle to my local Mercedes-Benz dealership for a diagnostic inspection. The dealership advised me to return the vehicle as soon as possible. According to the Mercedes-Benz diagnostic report, technicians found a stored camshaft fault, a torque calculation fault in the powertrain that they stated could indicate prior performance modifications, recently flashed engine and powertrain control units, a flagged warranty status, exhaust flaps that were not operating correctly, numerous hoses and harness attachments above and below the engine that were not installed properly, and loose hose clamps. I was also informed that the vehicle had previously been tuned and that the warranty had been affected as a result. When I asked if the Mercedes-Benz dealership who did a pre-purchase inspection would likely have been able to identify these issues, I was told they would have. The guy who was helping me said I'm not a mechanic and I can see it's all messed up with one look under the car. I contacted Ultimo Motors and explained the situation and requested to return the vehicle. I was initially told that returning the vehicle was not possible and the call ended. After I informed them I was considering speaking with an attorney, I received another call and was told to take the vehicle to a local shop for repairs. I declined because Mercedes-Benz had advised me to return the vehicle. Eventually, a manager contacted me and arranged for a tow truck to retrieve the car, but I was responsible for the associated costs. In the end, I lost approximately $1700 despite only owning the vehicle for a very short period of time. None of those costs were reimbursed. At the time of writing this review, I observed the vehicle being offered for sale again. I have no knowledge of what repairs, inspections, or work may have been performed after I returned it. This review reflects my personal experience. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from this dealership to obtain an independent inspection, thoroughly review all available records, and do extensive research before purchasing. I was wanting to purchase a used Honda sportscar. The first salesman was pushy and just wanted me to sign a contract for full price. I asked if the car was inspected in-house or if they have their own 100 point inspection. He said he would find out and call me back. He told me the car was a 100 percent perfect and the inspection was not going to show anything as the car has only 30k miles. I said the car is 22 years old and may need something, he never called me back. The next day I called and spoke to the sales manager, he was a bit curt and only said he would get it inspected the week after Thanksgiving and they would call me...i tried to reserve the car online and never heard back from anyone. The week after Thanksgiving I called back and now I have a new salesperson. I told him I wanted the car and could I put money down providing it passes the in-house inspection. We agreed on full asking price with the caveat that they would ship the car to me at their expense. He sends me an invoice, put it does not say it includes shipping and now there is also like a $670 dollar prep fee. I said you never mentioned that to me before, he says read the fine print online. Another week passes and I call back and he says it's going to be 2 or 3 weeks before he can get the car inspected. I said " I can't believe this" I say can I reserve the car? He says, Not if you don't sign the contract. I said I will buy the car, re write the contract and put in shipping and I really do not want to pay the bullshit $670 prep fee as they have not done anything with the car. He then comes back and says they will not negotiate the $670 bullshit prep fee and forget about the free shipping!!!! Full price plus full doc fees and prep fees. I then tell the salesman that I noticed in the picture that the whole front door of the factory stereo is ripped off and broken. I said you guys claimed this car is 100 % factory perfect. I recently purchased a Rivian R1T from Ultimo Motors, and I would not recommend them to anyone in need of a car. I was an out of town buyer who needed transportation, and worked with Steve Pickens and Alan Amjad at the dealership to negotiate the purchase of the truck and arrange delivery. I sent the wire transfer for the truck on 12/29/24, and was told by Steve "it would ship within two days of the deal being finalized". Steve also told me it would be $1,200 for open trailer shipping, or $1,500 for closed trailer shipping. I opted for closed trailer shipping as I didn't want the truck getting chipped up in-transit, and he told me I'd pay the delivery company directly when they arrived. I did not have that much cash at home, so Steve told me Venmo would be an acceptable form of payment. I confirmed multiple times that 1) it would be an enclosed trailer 2) Venmo would be ok. On 12/30 (11 days after my wire transfer arrived), I asked why the truck hadn't shipped yet, and Steve emailed me to say they were having trouble finding a covered transport at the $1,500 agreed upon price, and asked me if I could pay $500 extra? I said no as I bought the truck based on that delivery quote, and felt the dealer should need to eat any overage as it was manipulative to sell me a truck, then ask me to pay more for delivery after they already received my wire. Steve eventually found a shipping option, which I confirmed again would be 1) enclosed 2) the driver would accept Venmo. Steve confirmed again on both counts. Steve told me the vehicle would arrive on 1/6, so I made arrangements to be at home that day to take delivery. On 1/5 I still hadn't heard anything about an ETA, so I emailed him to check if he had heard from the driver. Steve then tells me on 1/6 that he made a mistake - they were actually picking the truck up on 1/6, not delivering it on 1/6. I'm not sure how you could possibly overlook the fact that the truck was still on the dealer lot on the day he told me it would be delivered 1,500 miles away? Regardless, he then tells me it was picked up at 3:20 on 1/6, and I would hear from the driver the morning of delivery to give me an ETA and that they would send me a bill of lading via email (they never did). On 1/8, at 9:30p while we were getting ready to go to bed, after I still hadn't heard any sort of ETA, I get a call from a Chicago number and am told the driver has arrived. He's parked about a half mile away because he doesn't speak English and I cannot communicate to him that he's able to enter our community through a service entrance that permits trucks. So - I have to walk out there in the 15 degree weather to find him. Once I arrive, I see that the truck is on an open trailer, despite confirming over and over and over again with Steve that it would be an enclosed trailer, and paying a $300 up-charge accordingly. Then - the driver will not accept Venmo, despite me confirming multiple times with Steve that would be acceptable. I end up having to set up a Zelle account in the freezing cold outside with a driver who speaks no English, which took 15-20 minutes. In the end, it took almost a full month to receive my vehicle after agreeing to a price and sending the money. The truck was sent on an open trailer across the entire country, and it won't surprise me if I end up finding chips in the paint once I go over it carefully. I was unable to pay the driver with the payment method they assured me would be acceptable. I also paid $300 extra for an enclosed trailer, and when I emailed Steve my complaints and asked for a refund of the $300 up-charge, neither he nor Alan ever replied. Completely ignored my email and moved on. BEWARE - steer clear of Ultimo - they are not honorable people and are the stereotypical car dealer, simply wanting to do a deal, burn you and move on to the next one. I had been searching for a very specific type of BMW 8 series for quite a while and was initially excited to find one that seemed to fit the bill at Ultimo North Shore. Despite all the terrible reviews of this independent dealership, I decided to take a look since they happened to be located very close to my home. My first impression was that the place seems to be pretty nice and maintains a wide selection of luxury vehicles in a large indoor warehouse. However, as with most things in life, the devil is in the details. The car checked most of my boxes in terms of options, etc., but it was wildly overpriced (according to CarGurus and the other online car sites) and I immediately noticed that the rotors had an unusual amount of rust around the inside ring where the brake pads do not reach. The salesman, Peter, kept insisting that this was normal and that all used vehicles develop that issue. However, as someone who knows a decent amount about cars and have owned quite a few myself, I knew for a fact that this was absolutely not normal and that the car had probably sat outside for months. I walked around the warehouse and could not find a single vehicle with this extreme level of rust on the wheels. I took photos and showed them to several knowledgeable people including a trusted BMW mechanic, and they all confirmed that this was a problem that likely could not be repaired and would eventually require replacement of the rotors. Frankly, I do not think it is at all unreasonable to be concerned about buying such an expensive vehicle with damaged wheels, especially when Ultimo has the audacity to charge nearly $700.00 for a so-called "reconditioning fee". I will not even get started on all of the other ridiculous junk fees and questionable warranties they tack on to every deal. After I continued to push back, Peter finally relented and told me he could try spraying some WD40 (never a good idea for this application) or brake cleaner on the rotors the following day. When I followed up with him a day or two later, he sounded put out and told me that they were not willing to do anything further about this issue. Nevertheless, I was still willing to try to work out a deal because I was (foolishly) caught up in the excitement of possibly getting my dream car. I won't go into further details about the negotiation process, other than to say the pricing for this vehicle was way out of whack and the manager Scott is a very abrupt, "take it or leave it" type of guy. Anyway, they kept pressuring me to finalize the deal, but I couldn't make it in because I was leaving town the next day. When I tried to reach Peter and Scott a few days later, they both ghosted me and simply refused to respond to any attempt to contact them! The good news is that they actually did me a huge favor. I would up purchasing an even nicer vehicle (in much better condition and with a third of the mileage) from a real BMW dealership--plus it's certified by BMW and comes with a warranty! Ultimo Motors may look a bit nicer than your typical used car lot, but it's all smoke and mirrors. They obviously cater to a clientele who either don't care about getting the best value for their money or don't know how to. They certainly do not like working with customers who ask too many questions like me. I have to admit that I find it amusing that the car I was looking at is STILL sitting on the lot over a month later!! Ultimo Motors was totally unprofessional from start to finish. I realize that there are some negative reviews out there, but I had a very good experience. I worked with Ben, Brian, and Allen to hammer out a deal on a pre-driven Porsche. I say "hammer out" because we both had a number in our heads that was acceptable but we came to an agreement quickly. The showroom is impressive and what mattered to me is the cars aren't sitting out in some lot, exposed to the elements. I knew that once we reached an agreement, the car would be indoors until I picked it up. My car is in pristine condition, as are the others in the showroom. They appear to be picky about what they sell. In addition, the transaction was very smooth and efficient. The car was waiting for me when I arrived to pick it up and I spent less than 10 minutes finalizing everything. I would not hesitate to check them out the next time I am in the market. read more

The staff at Ultimo are highly unprofessional and will not hesitate on wasting your time. Update: After seeing our bad review, Allen (the manager at Ultimo) repeatedly called us using profane language. The amount of calls we received from Allen was excessive and felt like harassment. We've filed a report with the North Shore police department and highly recommend staying away from this business. I bought a Jeep Wrangler from them about a year ago, when we were there the car was stored inside and we had called about it a few hours before showing up once we got there I felt pressure from the salesman to get the car which I understand I also work in sales, the car seemed fine so we decided to purchase, a week later I discovered that the carpet was lifting and in bad condition, there was rips under the seat cover which were not disclosed after we asked they said the seats were in perfect condition. They have a great indoor showroom and the car was in great condition just like Tasho said it was. It's nice to know the car wasn't sitting out in the elements. Nearly all conversations were done through email, which made the experience very easy and with low stress. I absolutely hate going into a dealership to buy a car, only to be there for 4+ hours and the salesperson needing to "talk to the manager" about everything. I drove to Ultimo Motors from Iowa and was out the door in under 90 minutes with my car (including inspecting the car, test drive, trade-in, and signing paperwork). Ben picked up the phone and told me that he would need pictures of my trade so that they could evaluate it. He said he would send me his cell number but never did. After a while he texted me a form with the value for my trade (a little low I think but fair) and the price of the car was the list price, 38K. I told him that I thought we were close on my trade but that I wanted a bit off of 38K price due to the blue book value coming in at 34-38. Same exact car is listed on KBB for 35K also so I used that comp. I asked for 36K, he said he didnt have that much wiggle room. I get it.....so i said let's meet in the middle. He then said "if we can meet in the middle, do we have a deal today?" I then said yes, we have a deal. He then said, I will need to talk to my manager. I am not sure if I can go that low. So i reluctantly waited another day. Hearing nothing, I texted him again and asked him what the deal was. He then said, my manager is pretty insistent on getting the list price. So apparently they go back on their word and don't ever text you back. Read some reviews on this company before purchasing anything!!! Every single time I had to initiate the conversation just to get shown no sense of urgency on his side. I basically had to beg him to take my money. I do not recommend this company.
