    Hair clip.

There was a plastic hair clip in my chicken bowl that I bit down on. I probably swallowed some plastic and might have chipped my tooth. DO NOT EAT HERE Received the owners response, thank you for getting back to me. Unfortunately this incident did happen and my wife sitting next to me was witness. Unless the driver opened up my meal and put this clip in it, it must have come from your establishment. I've had your food before many times and loved it, but would be careful as to who you have prepare it.

I'm not sure how this place had such good reviews. I had the chicken and cabbage bowl and it looked like something I could make. And my wife had the chicken bowl and it was pretty sad. There was barely any chicken in the bowls. And it was $11.45 for each bowl. Probably the worst place I've ever tried!

$2 for this much avocado. Sad.

Updated: an extra star for the very fast customer service response and suggestion on the chili oil. I'll try it again and see if it has more flavor overall. And hopefully I'll get more avocado next time! The food is okay but still too expensive for what it is. I paid $2 for avocado and got three chunks. I got a total of three pieces of water chestnut. In general, it's just kind of boring. This is a virtual kitchen (not a real restaurant) that is identical to Ben's Fast Food, just with an Asian flair. I greatly dislike all the sauces at Ben's so I wanted to try this version. Side note: I think it's weird you can't add cucumber to these bowls since Ben's offers cucumber and they are clearly using the same ingredients. Overall, it's boring. I still didn't like the sauce. I'm disappointed I barely got any avocado for $2. And they gave me bathroom paper towels instead of napkins which is just weird.

Came during dineLA so some people in our group opted for that menu - was a great way to sample their most popular dishes. I opted for the Meiji Soymilk Miso Ramen - such a unique take on ramen I had to try it. The broth was so creamy and could not tell dairy was not used. The blistered green beans were so flavorful and crispy as well. Everything was delicious and came out super hot. Came for a birthday celebration and all the staff signed a birthday card which was very sweet - a fun personalized touch that I haven't seen at other restaurants. Definitely a nice place that will make celebrations extra special!

To share, we had the following dishes: - Hokkaido Milk Bread: Crispy and fluffy. A good appetizer. I also liked the fish roe butter it came with. Kind of overhyped though. - Japanese Pancake: Pretty different from the souffle-like Japanese pancakes I've had, but this was still pretty good. The texture was chiffron-like and it was light and fluffy. Definitely less heavy than the traditional American pancake. The salted maple syrup and tart blueberries were nice layers that complimented the not too sweet pancake. - Pork Belly Eggs Benedict: What I liked the most was the crumpet-like english muffin used for this dish. It's very different from a traditional english muffin, but I liked the soft and fluffy texture of it that soaked up the hollandaise sauce which was pretty good. However, the pork belly portion was too small and was masked by the sauce and muffin, so I couldn't really taste it. - Nashville Spiced Hot Chicken Karaage: Solid karaage with moist a moist chicken interior and crispy exterior. The seasoning was good and unique and so was the creamy dipping sauce. - Fried Rice For Breakfast: Solid fried rice and I could tell they used day old rice which is optimal. The ginger flavor is pretty prominent which I liked. - Ube Ice Cream Birthday Dessert: Got this for free for my birthday. This is definitely FIlipino approved. The ice cream had a good Ube flavor and was super creamy. I also liked the crunchy bits on the bottom which added texture. The interior of the restaurant was clean and felt cozy. I made a reservation before on the OpenTable app which I recommend during peak times. The service was mixed. Our server was super nice, but she and other servers were hard to flag down. Since my parking time was running out, I had to walk to the host table to pay. She even forgot my uncle's coke.  Parking in the area can be tough. Street parking if you're lucky or valet ($15 for 2 hours on Sunday when I went). Overall, my experience was generally good. I wouldn't mind coming back here if someone invited me.

When you dine in they bring metal cups with an icy cold carafe of cold water to your table. Customer service is efficient. The person behind the counter is very soft spoken and gives you a slight smile but gets your order correct every time. Hands down so don't argue with me they have the absolute BEST orange chicken. It has a slight crunch on the outside while tender and juicy in the inside. The orange sauce is perfection. It has a great balance of salty and sweet without being overly sweet like an orange candy. It's not tart and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. They put the right amount of sauce so it is not drenched. Pair it with the garlic rice and the salad that crops and fresh no dressing is even needed. Order this and you will be happy. The regular white rice is good too! The Zapp chicken is crunchy, juicy and spicy. I normally cannot eat spicy but this one is perfect. Since my 24 year old son told me about this restaurant I've been here four times in the past month. I couldn't stop even though my order was a pretty large portion! Honestly this could be easily shared by 2 people. The chicken isn't "heavy" so it's quite easy to just eat a lot. I'm only docking a star because the boba left a lot to be desired. The tea itself was fine but the boba formed clumps and it was difficulty to drink through the straw. It's located in a tiny strip mall but there's a good amount of parking. Service was fast. We ordered on a tablet and sat at a table. There were a couple of dirty tables but as we ate, we saw them clean up. Will I be back? Absolutely! Can't wait to try other menu items.

I ordered their lunch combo, which comes with 6 pieces of sushi, a choice of a California or spicy tuna roll, and a side. I went with the spicy tuna roll and chose the veggie tempura for my side. The sushi pieces were really good, and the wagyu beef one was definitely the highlight for me. The veggie tempura was also good and came with a small side salad. The restaurant itself has a nice, relaxed vibe, and the service was good, though there were a couple of minor hiccups with the meal itself. The spicy tuna roll was just okay and didn't taste super fresh today. Also, the tempura and salad came out much later than the sushi, which felt like an odd pacing for a lunch combo. Overall, it was a good meal and I'd probably give it another try if I happen to be in the neighborhood, but honestly, I still like Hoka Hoka better.

The only place that does okinawa musubi that I knew of is in koreatown, and I don't know of any spots that does onigirazu in LA. The okinawa style musubi was amazing and monstrously thick, thicker than some burgers I've had. I really enjoyed the shrimp tempura onigirazu as well, and will definitely be back to try the other varieties. I once traveled for 40 min in New York to try out a spot that also had shrimp tempura onigirazus, but they were only sold prepackaged and cold, so it's such a bonus to have them made fresh. Owners were extremely friendly and offered a large cup of cold water when I picked up my food which is a god send in this heat wave we've been experiencing. This is such a friendly and affordable mom and pop shop, and my platonic ideal of a restaurant. The first time I ate here, it took maybe 20-25 minutes for me to get my food. This time, I had my food in around 10 minutes. I was very impressed with this big decrease in wait time. This time I tried the new Hokkaido cream pasta, which tasted super fresh and made to order. The cream was warm and rich without feeling over the top like some other cream-based pasta sauces from Italian/American places. I liked the addition of spinach and mushrooms as well. The restaurant is in a food court with a few other options, and a decent amount of seating. It's also inside of a grocery store, so if you're with a picky group, everyone could theoretically order something different and eat together. I remember I was a little put off by the anime branding of the restaurant at first (it seemed a little childish to me) but Pasta Stories is really a solid wafu pasta place, and I love that they focus on different regional flavors of Japan. Prices are very affordable as well, with most pastas being around $15 and under.

I stopped in on a Tuesday for lunch and knew I was going to get the curry puffs. The last time I ordered these I was with a friend and had to share but not this time. I was on a solo lunch and looking forward to the puffs! To say they are "perfect" seems insufficient. They were fried incredibly well, hot, crunchy, tasty, but never greasy. And these little puffs were filled with minced beef, potatoes, and seasoning! For my main dish, I chose the dragon noodles (pad thai) with chicken. All the veggies in the dish were cooked perfectly, nothing too mushy, just the right amount of crunch/bite to the cabbage, broccoli, and carrots. And the chicken was chunky! And while I loved everything about the dish, the sprinkling of the crushed peanuts was *chef's kiss*. There's no skimping on those peanuts here. As I write this I'm excited for the leftover noodles waiting for me. When you walk into Sausalido you really do feel welcomed. The space is unassuming in the best way possible. Posters of the drinks they offer (coffee, smoothies, boba) adorn the walls, along with pictures of the various food items they have.
