First visit to Emporium Thai and I already know this won't be my last…read more I walked in solo with a tight window between shows, which meant I had to be strategic. No leftovers, no over-ordering... a true test of discipline at a place like this. Started with a Thai iced tea that hit exactly right. Balanced, not overly sweet, and generously poured. Service throughout the meal was excellent. Attentive without hovering, and the pacing was spot on. I never felt rushed, which is rare when you're clearly on a clock. For my appetizer, I went with the Phuket wings. As someone who takes wings seriously, I can say these stood out. Crispy, flavorful, and coated in a Southern Thai curry sauce I hadn't experienced before. Rich, slightly sweet, with a depth that kept me going back for "just one more." For the main, I took the server's recommendation and ordered the Thai beef salad to balance things out. Smart call. The dressing leaned creamier than what I usually expect, but it worked. Bright, flavorful, and layered. I'll be honest, I couldn't quite finish it, but the beef didn't stand a chance. Every last bite. Dessert sealed the deal. The mango sticky rice, now famously known as the Cardi B Mango Sticky Rice, lived up to the hype. Perfectly ripe mango, warm sticky rice, and that coconut sauce tying it all together. Simple, classic, and done right. The space itself tells a story. Walls lined with photos of the owner alongside celebrities from all over. But what stood out more than the photos was the man himself. He made his way around the room, greeting guests, checking in, bringing real warmth to the experience. No hierarchy, no pretense. Everyone gets treated like they belong. Twenty-six years in and I'm just now discovering this place? Better late than never. Next time, I'm bringing a group and ordering everything family style. That's the move.

This is a review for their catering as we didn't eat at the location…read more We had a large sales meeting with some out of town people so we ordered a few stereotypical Thai items from Emporium to feed everyone over lunch. We all gobbled up 2+ plates each and had a ton of leftovers. They definitely do not skimp on portions when ordering catering. All of the food tasted fresh and flavorful. You could taste all of the spices and seasonings well while not having to get through a ton of grease and oil. I really think they nailed the balance of everything in all of the dishes. If I did have one minor gripe, I will say that this stuff might not travel the absolute best. I'm not completely sure how much time passed between it getting piked up and consumed, but a lot of the items, especially those with noodles, were sticking together when trying to serve which means if you wanted a small portion...you got a big one. I know that's more on us for not eating right away, but I would've also hoped that with a catering order they would have accounted for this a bit more. In all, Emporium Thai was a fantastic lunch to break up a long business meeting. I absolutely cannot wait to go to the actual restaurant and try their dishes fresh out of the kitchen (& whenever I do find myself there I will update my review accordingly.

We started with the Roti Paratha, which arrived warm and flaky alongside a rich curry dipping sauce. For shared plates, we ordered the Bali Sea Bass and Stir Fry Water Spinach. The sea bass was beautifully prepared with layers of spice and aromatics, plus just enough heat to keep every bite interesting. The water spinach arrived sizzling at the table, adding to the experience and making the dish feel fresh from the wok. For noodles, my son ordered his usual favorite, the Mie Tek Tek, while my daughter chose the Mie Ayam, which she thoroughly enjoyed. To drink, we had white wine, Terra beer, and a Thai iced tea that came with a cute presentation. There was a small hiccup when our beverages were forgotten, but the staff handled it well and kindly comped our appetizer, which we appreciated.

Best to order for yourself. I wish they had more than just wine for alcohol, but not a big deal. I haven't had a ton of Vietnamese food and haven't explored the variety of food there is but I…read morereally enjoyed this little spot. It was very cute and the seating was nice as well. I don't remember the service as much as I'd like to but it was up to par with decent service. My mistake was getting the Pork. It was too chewy and just not for me. The bread was a bit too crunchy. Alot of my gripes aren't necessarily towards the cafe itself but more so the quality of the food for me. I'm sure if I got the chicken I would have enjoyed this dish much more. I'll come back when I can and change my review depending on what else I get.

They're much thicker and flatter noodles. They're not quite Me noodles, but they're not the traditional thin round noodles you get when you order pho. Does this affect the flavor or anything to the dish? No. But if you're a 'by the books' pho eater, you're going to notice that right away & might have your own opinions based off that choice. As far as the broth goes, which is how I judge pho, it's good. It's not great, but it's good. I think it could use a little longer time simmering to really build some richer flavor. The broth is light which I appreciate, but I feel like it didn't offer the complex flavor profile other Vietnamese restaurants I have been to offer. Staff was friendly and helpful. Even during the busy lunch time, they managed to take care of us & all other tables with ease. Giving everyone just the right amount of service & space to enjoy their food. Never once were we waiting for someone to come by to take or orders or refill water or give us the bill. They flowed through all of that with ease. it was greatly appreciated. In all, I am glad Nong La í in this neighborhood to offer a slightly different option to the traditionally Japanese restaurants. However, if you are looking for an end all be all pho place, I wouldn't say this is it. It will scratch an itch, but it won't quench a craving.

Absolutely enjoyed my meal and experience. Would definitely go back! Oh a whim, made a late…read morereservation on a weeknight. Went early to see if anything opened or if walk-in would be faster, surprisingly they actually had something come available sooner. We opted to sit inside and loved the ambiance. Food - amazing! I read reviews first and watched a couple IG videos so I knew a general idea of what we wanted to order. Glad the server suggested the orange chicken over the walnut shrimp when we were debating it. Chil wontons, absolutely a must get, different from DTF, not crazy spicy but full of flavor and richness. XO fatty noodles, perfect chewiness on the rolled noodles and the flavors were well balanced, we enjoyed them with a little chili paste and the orange chicken as the protein. Orange chicken, soooo much more flavorful than your average Panda Express orange chicken, good sized nuggets of chicken that were crispy and tender at the same time, and the zest livened it up. BBQ pork shank, our server did warn us it's not the easiest to eat, but it's worth it, hard to see cutting it off the bone because it was so dimly lite in the restaurant and your hands will get sticky but once you get chunks off the bone and your bao bun built it's delicious especially when you get the lacquered crispy skin yummm! Only skip for the night was the mango sticky rice. Much rather would've spend $8 on something else. The mango was tart/sour. The sticky rice was too wet and mushy. It was a pass for both of us. Service - our server was awesome. From greeting to end, he was the right amount of attentive and was super helpful with suggestions. Everyone from the food runner to the busser, they were all so nice. From getting us chili paste or to go containers, customer service was on point. Parking - love love that are a few parking spaces right out front. They're metered. But after 8pm it was free so perfect for us. Other than those spaces, there's a lot across the street if you want to risk it or also side streets parking too.

She told us that we could be seated at the bar immediately, which is what we opted for. She placed us at a lower portion of the bar with two seats, which was perfect. The bartender, Justin took our drink and dinner order and I have to say, he makes amazing cocktails! We had egg rolls for an appetizer, which arrived very quickly and went well with our cocktails. I ordered a rye old-fashioned and my wife ordered a house creation, "Jesuit's Tea Party," which she enjoyed. For our entrees, I ordered Hainan Chicken and my wife had the Walnut Shrimp. Mine was really good, but I have to say I like the Walnut Shrimp better. They have their breading skills dialed in, so next time I think I'd go with something fried. All in all a great experience. Great vibe and everyone was very friendly and attentive.

She was very endearing as she talked to my girlfriend in chinese and also kind to me when speaking in english. When asked about dishes and proportions, she was very knowledgeable and honest. Food: (4.5/5) We ordered the Mapo Tofu and Meizhou Special Fried Rice with chicken. The food came out within 10 minutes and the portions, as I saw on previous reviews, were generous enough for us to share and be full. The Mapo Tofu came out on a hot ceramic bowl. It wasn't as spicy as I thought, not overly spicy but just enough where you get that numbing kind of sensation in your mouth that leaves you wanting more. The beef wasn't like the ground beef you see in other mapo tofu, but more of chunkier pieces which I wasn't a big fan of as it didn't seem spread evenly. The Meizhou Special Fried Rice with chicken was probably one of the best fried rice dishes I've ever had. You can tell it was made from a wok and the flavors were just incredible. The chicken seemed to have been friend separately and added on top afterwards but the saltiness of the chicken didn't take away from the fried rice at all. Instead, it added to the flavor and made it all so enjoyable. For the ultimate experience, I'd recommend eating both together to maximize your palette!

The space feels worn -- menus tattered, décor dated, the whole interior overdue for a refresh. For a restaurant positioning itself at the higher end of Chinese dining, Meizhou Dongpo is sleeping on the finer details. No complimentary tea service, and rather than offering a pot for the table, they serve individual tea by the mug -- a comically oversized Western mug at that. Chopsticks arrive without spoons, and when you ask for one, you get silverware instead of the porcelain you'd expect at Chinese restaurant. The Peking duck accoutrements came with a little plastic spoon on the tray. Small things, but they add up.The fried rice was a letdown too and looked nothing like the menu photo. Spots like Din Tai Fung and Lunasia Signature are operating at a different level and the gap shows. Meizhou Dongpo has the bones of a great Chinese restaurant. The duck alone proves it. But until they invest in the experience around the food, it's hard to recommend at this price point.
