The first one I called quoted me $3k to $5k for an LA to San Jose move and I hung up in 30 sec. UMOVE is a HIDDEN GEM and hard to find as it took some digging. 30 sec into the call I had a sense of relaxation & calm overcome me as my gut told me this was the real deal. Very straightforward, transparent and itemized without being prompted not to mention the professional politeness and helpful nature. The care and respect showed in the meticulous packing they did very efficiently. The blankets and shrink-wrap were thoroughly applied. Moving is easily my least favorite activity so decided to find some help. From the first meeting to get and idea of the effort Maxim was professional and you can tell he takes pride in what he does. They provided a fair price to move us out of our 3 bedroom house from San Mateo to Tahoe/Reno area so we decided to move with them. The move was scheduled for a Friday but due to the previous job taking longer than expected they came the next morning. Even though this was not part of the plan, there was good communication the entire time so we could plan accordingly. Very much appreciated! The crew packed up all our belongings and took care to use blankets and plastic wrap to protect all the furniture. Everything arrived in the same condition that it left our old home. Five stars hands down. Every aspect of my move from San Francisco to the Peninsula was as smooth as it could go. The Communication - Max called 20 minutes before arrival to let me know his ETA. Upon their timely arrival (15 minutes into my 1 hour appointment window), Max stated all the relevant terms of the contract so all things were clear and transparent. When they needed a break, Max texted me the stop and go times so that I was clear on the time being billed. Even during their break, Max used the break to actually fill out the contract and review terms with me. Incredible transparency and hard work. The Move - Max and his colleague treated my furniture like it was his own. All the fragile items (and even stuff I didn't think need wrapping) were carefully wrapped in blankets. They effortlessly moved everything. I was exhausted just watching them work but they themselves never complained or seemed tired! The People - The team had such a positive attitude, and I had fun chatting with them. I thoroughly enjoyed their company as well as their jokes. Excellent service, expert movers, fast, efficient, careful, and friendly. They arrived on time and finished the work quickly. I had packed everything up before into boxes. The provided wardrobe boxes for me to easily transport clothes on hangers or awkward things that wouldn't fit into normal boxes. Very convenient. They thoroughly wrapped up soft things like upholstery and mattress in plastic wrap and tape, which protected them and made them easier to carry. You could tell they knew how to efficiently move things. Before driving, they double checked to make sure things were strapped down in their truck. They were quick to give me a quote and explain my options. The only thing they can improve on is to give a confirmation call the day before they are scheduled, just for peace of mind. They seemed like nice people, were careful with our items, and managed to get our bulky items down some awkward stairs, as well as disassemble and reassemble large furniture that didn't fit through doors. Although we moved most of the boxes by ourselves, we still needed to move some bulky furniture, and the guys with their capacious truck, numerous dollies and all the necessary wrapping materials were there to help. Did our homework looking through different Yelp reviews and found great reviews with UMOVE as well as competitive pricing. We needed to move in May during the pandemic from a 2 br 1 ba into two separate locations. Coordinating that with Maxim was very easy and we were able to schedule something quickly. We were also given a very detailed and accurate quote and list of charges up front so we would know what to expect. We were given an arrival time frame for the morning of and then got a text they were on their way within that time frame. Alex and his colleague moved things really quickly and carefully! We moved a lot of heavy furniture, fragile boxes, and bags. Their heavy-duty dolly was impressive at moving large furniture down the little steps at the front of the house. They also followed good pandemic mask and glove protocol and made sure to keep their distance. All in all, the loading and unloading was handled quickly and with care. Alex and his crew did a fantastic job moving all of our stuff from our apartment to our new home recently. From carefully disassembling furniture pieces to wrapping them to boxing up loose items they took care of everything they moved as if it were a family heirloom including box after box of action figures. The team at UMove really did an amazing job for my family as my kids and I moved into a new house. I called UMove the week before and scheduled the move between two homes to a third final destination. I evaluated a few moving companies and many had high review counts and similar ratings, but my conversation with Maksim really sealed the deal for me. They are newer, hungrier, and willing to work hard and promised a personalized service experience. The morning of the move, they showed up a little late due to some issue with the lift on a truck, but they swapped vehicles and showed up ready to work. They called me to let me know what had happened so I appreciated that. Once the move began, the three of them got to work taking apart furniture and carefully wrapping it up. They took apart things that I didn't know came apart and made moving it safely much easier. They loaded the truck and tied things down so there would be little to no movement in transit. They covered all the furniture to protect it and every piece made it to the final destination with no additional marks or damage. I felt bad because a few of my things must have weighed hundreds of pounds (or more!) and they never complained out loud (I'm sure they talked about it on the way home or where I couldn't hear though!). Some of the heavy pieces even had to go upstairs at the new place and they did it without damage to the furniture or the walls! I was impressed and thanked them for their caution and care! Overall, I would definitely recommend them and suggest you take a chance with this highly professional team. They went the extra mile many times for me and my kids, worked quickly, carefully, and even put things together in a way that made the move easier on us all so kids could sleep in their beds that very night!
