Excellent food!!! It is more Cajun based but the BBQ BEEF sandwich was esculent!

This place was fantastic. In fact, their food, I would consider many of their items better than what I had in New Orleans earlier this year. I had no idea that this place was even in the Prescott area. It's definitely worth giving it a try. You will not be disappointed. You will definitely come back regularly. Update: I went back last night again and it is just as delicious! I tried the chicken jambalaya and it was fantastic! It was so much food, I saved 1/2 of it. Had dinner with my wife at this place last weekend. The restaurant was extremely dirty and the food was not very good. Whoever was working behind the counter was very rude and seemed bothered that he had to work. Charging $7 for horrible bread pudding and another $4 for some of the worst lemonade I've ever had is enough in itself. Do yourself a favor and check other places out. read more

We love this place and are so glad they moved to the Sprouts shopping center on Sheldon St! As a family of four, we eat out at least once a week and we love ordering the three meat platter. The sides we love are the Mac n Cheese, the okra, and the cornbread! We always get the food to go and their packaging always keeps the food fresh, hot and tasty. We like this BBQ place way better than Colt's Grill and Uncle Bud's Place is now are go to place for BBQ in Prescott! read more

It had been a long time since I had any kind of BBQ food. As I searched on Yelp, I came across a recommendation for Uncle Bud's BBQ. So, I headed on over to the place. I had read that the place was small to begin with, no big deal. While I wanted BBQ , I ended up ordering the pot roast , mashed potatoes, and the beans all of which were great ! There's definitely something great going on back there in the kitchen ! While some foods are just lumped together and packaged as a meal, I could tell right away that each portion of the meal was prepared individually and with great care . I was able to distinguish spices in each food portions, truthfully, not a whole lot of places can do that ! I'm glad that I had the pot roast, it turned out better than I expected. The people were great, the place is very clean, and there's no doubt that the place will expand soon to a bigger place. Don't pass this place up ! read more

The corn bread sweet and the Jambalaya saucy! We enjoyed a very generous cup of chicken gumbo and a large serving of chicken jambalaya. The entree was more than one person would want. The meaty gumbo enough for dinner alone. I gave it 5 stars for the quality of the food. I have handwipes with me and cleaned the table. The establishment was clean with the exception of crumbs on the tables! I hope this place stays open, we will return. read more

1st time here. Had the jambalaya which had the perfect amount of heat. Husband had Buds Big BBQ platter with ribs, Chuck roast and pulled pork. Nothing disappointed. Meat fell off the ribs. Finished it off with bread pudding with bourbon sauce. Wonderful. We will definitely be back. Only thing I wish they had was some beer to wash it down. read more

Went in because I was craving an Italian style sandwich and ordered the muffuletta. It was amazing. Loaded with meats, packed with olive-y goodness, finished with a side of pickles, and when topped their house made mustard... just perfect. The meat was cooked perfectly!! We ordered the 3 meat meal for 2 with Cajun Jerk Chicken, ribs and spicy sausage. Our sides were okra and beans and rice. Wonderful smoked flavors. Quality meat. Food is amazing ! The one waitress definitely had her hands full with a lunch rush but she was so attentive. We had a larger party so we found it difficult to have everyone at one table so you might want to consider that if you go. The cook was loud but I think happy with the business. Great friendly staff and food was great, chicken was not dry at all, pulled pork was good too. The max and cheese wasn't the best but the other stuff made up for it! It is basically a takeout place, but they have a small area to accommodate those that don't wanna take out and they conveniently use all paper products so cleanup is quick, they were very attentive and friendly and while we were there they were even reading yelp, which means they care! This place is amazing. I had the stuffed pork chop with Cajun greens and potato salad. The greens were so good I ate those first. The chop and potato salad were great as well. After move from Frontier Village to Sprouts/Walgreens stores complex on Sheldon/Marina a few months ago everything went downhill - They no longer have brisket just chuck roast -- Any GOOD BBQ place will offer brisket, both wet and lean, SMH Have tried them three times now over the last 4-6 weeks at their new location - Twice on Sunday afternoons, and today on Thursday afternoon at 2:30pm - First two times on Sunday it was dry leftovers for the meat and chicken -- Extra dry beef (used to be brisket, now they use a cheaper cut of chuck roast which was an unappetizing grey color and had little/no smoke flavor) -- The chicken breast was dry, tough, and stringy -- Really good BBQ sauce though, which is obviously used to mask the poor quality of the beef and chicken, and they were chintzy with it (only one small BBQ cup) - First time potato salad was good, second time WAY too much salt, third time WAY too much mayo - They said previously that mac n cheese is only available on Thursdays -- Today is Thursday and now they say it's only available on Fri/Sat - Cornbread is decent, but they forgot it on the second time -- Butter never provided - Third time, today, Thursday 8/8/2024 was better but still not great as before the move -- Chuck roast meat was a bit moister than the previous two times, but still a bit dry -- Chicken breast was barely moist and quite tough -- Ribs were decent, fell off the bone - I'll give them another month or two to let them get their act together, will update then Time to try State 48 for their BBQ - They have both lean and moist brisket which any self-respecting BBQ joint will have - They also have mac 'n cheese all the time, not just 1-2 days per week read more

Came here during a day trip to Prescott. I was excited to find a creole restaurant. I got the shrimp and chicken etouffee and the smoked cherry bomb sandwich with Mac n cheese with an extra side of smashed potatoes. I absolutely loved the etouffee, the meats were cooked perfectly and were flavorful. The roux was well seasoned and coated the rice perfectly. The corn bread was yummy as well and had a nice brown sugar crumble on top. The cherry bomb sandwich had pulled pork and sausage. Both had a nice kick to it and were cooked perfectly. The Mac and cheese was so creamy and rich, yum. The potatoes tasted like they were smoked with some sort of wood flavoring which I wasn't expecting. The service was awesome and everyone was so friendly and wonderful. It's really a great place to eat. I highly recommend it. read more

UNCLE BUD'S!!!!!!!!! HOW I love thee!!!! Such a small joint with what has a POWERFUL punch with food! This is a BBQ place and man, this did not disappoint one single bit. Lets start with the owner, he was an amazing greeter and host! He seemed to have a bond with everyone in there, I thought It was incredible. The wife and I ordered the Bud's Bowl with half gravy and half gouda. I highly recommend the gouda as it just packed more of a punch with flavor as I devoured the HELL Out of it. Corn bread with butter was delish, but the bowl blew my mind. Go there, say hello to the guys who make this place incredible. They will greet you with open arms and great conversations. This place is awesome! From staff to their food! Me and my boyfriend ordered Uncle Bud's BBQ platter and oh boy! Potato salad and greens so good, I recommend EVERYTHING in their menu. We travel a lot and we make sure we share our experience when we think food is really good. I think it's important that we rate good restaurants like this one so that people that travels know where to go and not to waste their money for overprice food that's not even that good. Soooo I hardly eat barbecue in Arizona because I'm usually disappointed after years of living in the south. This place has changed my attitude! My family took a quick trip to Prescott to escape the Phoenix heat and stumbled upon this gem. This place quickly became my favorite barbecue spot west of Texas. I tried the chuck roast, pulled pork, and ribs. They were all excellent, and the sides did not disappoint! I'm not usually a huge fan of Cajun flavor, but everything was seasoned super well and I found myself enjoying the flavors. The sauce is perfectly balanced and one of my new favorites.
