This might be my fav spot near the BNA airport. They have been around forever, at least 30 years .... They are known for catfish and I wouldn't stray too far from it. Fried shrimp and chicken are nothing special but I always get the catfish. Sides are unlimited and what you'd expect, fries, slaw, beans, and a few others Home made peach cobbler didn't have enough peach at all and feels 30% like cake dna. The ice cream is frozen in scoops and placed on top. I have eaten here twice. I would eat here more if it wasn't so far from my work or home. I have noticed that they were busy both times that I visited. I had to park across the street both times because their parking lot was full. The best part about this restaurant are their "vittles" or fixins that they bring you. The vittles are the sides that they bring you which includes; onion, pickles, hush puppies, white northern beans and coleslaw. It's worth coming here just for them. I ordered the catfish. It was absolutely delicious. The catfish was cooked just right. They brought some tarter sauce to dip the catfish in. I also had catsup for hush puppies. Altogether, I really enjoyed my catfish plate and sides. As far as customer service is concerned. I was very well taken care of, on both visits by my waitresses. They checked on me several times and kept my drink full at all times with sweet tea. They also bought me more of the vittles that I wanted that I was out of. These vittles or "fixins" are all you can eat. Tip: One tip I would give is to come here on Sundays because this is when they have their fried chicken special. You can save money on this day if you like fried chicken. Tuesdays are when they have their catfish special. If you like fried food, this is your place! Almost everything was fried. The food was delicious to me. My daughter wasn't impressed, but she is 9 and isn't a fried food fanatic. The beans were awesome. They give you so much food, you have to pace yourself. I shared the seafood platter with my daughter and got her a kids meal. Kids meals are about the cost of the "fixings" so it was the same price. We took majority home. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The kid even got a free ice cream after the smorgasbord. We were welcomed with warm smiles by the hosts in front, got to pick where we got seated, which was a cozy corner by the wall. Our host was charming (wish I remembered her name) but she gushed about the fact that we were from LA and we hit off a conversation until our server (forgot hers too, darn it) came around and introduced herself. The sides came almost right away, and we devoured it almost as quick as it came. Yes, we were hungry... but who can get enough of white beans, pickles, hushpuppies (fried balls of corn bread with onion), and cole slaw? I couldn't. I said, Keep it coming - and they did. A manager also came by to ask how everything was going, and made the effort to refill our sides as well. We came for the AYCE catfish and started off with a round of fried catfish - which you can get in fillets or the whole fish - fillets. A plate each had 5-6 fillets and she brought the tartar sauce along with it. I requested lemons too - Mmmmm. Ashamed to admit we only were able to handle one round due to stuffing ourselves with the sides early on... but you're able to box some food out for later :) A+ service and food, I felt very welcomed and "taken care of" for sure! When we were seated we immediately got hush puppies, coleslaw, white beans and a plate with pickles and sliced onions. We were confused because they came so quickly and we were like "we didn't order this" but he quickly enlightened us. We ordered the seafood platter with catfish shrimp calamari and oysters and it came with potato wedges. There was so much food that we had to get to go plates. This place is great but disappointed the catfish Is Farm raised. Much too much food served and refills on everything is free. Comes with coleslaw, white beans, onion, pickles, big biscuit, big hush puppies. I ordered catfish and chicken combo. I couldn't eat all of it the portions are so big. And they practice social distancing and wear mask. They are very friendly and almost push food on you. I haven't experienced customer service like this in a longgggg time! The restaurant opens at 4pm. We arrived at 3:55pm, and there were several people waiting in the parking lot. My sister walked over to the door to see if it was opened. It was locked but the manager came and opened it anyway. After entering the restaurant, we were immediately seated and greeted by our FANTASTIC server, Sherrell. She took our drink orders and brought out the standard starters (pinto beans, cole slaw, and hush puppies). The pinto beans and hush puppies were great! I didn't try the cole slaw. They have several all you can eat (AYCE) options including, but not limited to, chicken wings, chicken tenders, catfish fillet, whole catfish, and mixed whole/fillet catfish. They have a catfish special on Tuesdays. AYCE catfish is on sale for $11.95 instead of $15.95. My family all ordered the mixed (whole & filleted catfish). I ordered the AYCE chicken tender which wasn't a Tuesday special. The tenders are always $10.95 though, so it was still a great deal. The tenders came to the table with barbecue sauce, ranch, and honey mustard. I used all 3. Everyone enjoyed their food and left the restaurant completely stuffed. I would highly recommend this place to Nashville locals and ESPECIALLY people from out of town. They have a nice southern ambiance and the servers, hostesses, and management all had amazing southern hospitality. Added bonus- All employees were walking around with a button that read "I'm #2." The food was okay but totally overpriced 65 dollars for three people to eat a one peice catfish fillet. The service was horrible and we had to wait an extra 20 minutes to get our bill. Food came out fast, fresh and hot. The batter was crispy on everything. Nothing was fried too hard or soft. My absolute favorite was the white beans as you can tell in the picture below. We came to Music City to get away for the weekend, not knowing it was NFL Draft weekend until two days before we arrived. To avoid all of the craziness downtown, we dined outside of the city. After a couple of hours of shopping and hanging out in Music Valley and Opryland, a quick Yelp search led us here. Wow! Staff was super friendly. Gosh, this was such a nice place with such great service that I wanted to like the food more than I did. Whenever I'm traveling, I like to eat at local spots as much as possible, and this looked like a solid one; besides, what isn't exciting about all you can eat fried chicken? The place has a homey feel, the employees are friendly, and the portions are large. However, the food is just okay, and perhaps that's to be expected. My waitress was fantastic though, and she kept the chicken coming until I couldn't eat anymore; I just wish it was a bit better. All of the different fixins' are pretty average too, but there's a lot of them. I'd go back but would know what to expect next time. The chef knows how to fry foods right. All the fried foods are great, well surprisingly except the french fries. We like all the unlimited sides too but not too crazy about the banana pudding.
