This is my 2nd review and again I'm disappointed with the service here. Had to ask 3 times for coffee refill and got the wrong toast. Both servers were working on the other side of the restaurant and ignoring us all on the remodeled side. Wanted ketchup for my potatoes but no server attention. And jelly for my wrong toast. Food was prepared well. Remodeled side is nice but blocked from busy side. Next time, I'll sit on busy side away from kitchen. Its clean. read more

Very busy around 10am on a Saturday, but we were still able to be sat within about 10 minutes. The servers were attentive and upbeat and felt very at home love me some breakfast food and the price was fantastic for quantity ($14 for a huge dish if memory is right!). My wife and I chose this place for breakfast while our dogs were being groomed this morning. The food was standard diner fare, no complaints about it, but nothing special about it either. However, just as Sofie said in her review yesterday, customer service was deplorable!! We were greeted by a pleasant woman behind the counter, but the waitress spoke only when absolutely necessary. She rolled her eyes when my wife requested a drink refill, finally bringing it just as we were about to ask for the check. We heard her laughing and otherwise having pleasant encounters with other customers, so she must hate serving 70 year old lesbians! Regardless of the reason for her attitude, we will never return to this establishment!! read more

We've been there multiple times. Not sure what the appeal is. The food is ok, the staff is fine. Way too many flies (which staff acknowledged on the few occasions we went.) there are other places preferred. read more

We received perfect table service, enjoyed reading the kitschy signs on the walls while waiting a long time for our order. We ordered omelets, which were not particularly good: the cheapest possible cheese had no flavor, the interior ingredients vastly overcooked and mushy/slimy. Hashbrowns substandard (grill perhaps dirty) though certainly edible. Toast stone cold. Coffee fine. Servings large, price reasonable or average. I usually totally clean my plate of food but this wasn't good enough to finish. Probably won't be back but maybe. read more

If you like waiting and not being acknowledged, this is your place! First time going here a few weeks ago, it was delicious, friendly, and attentive. Went today and stood at the front for about 10 minutes, no one said a word or looked at us. As we waited, others ended up leaving, as they had not been acknowledged yet either. A couple walked in and sat themselves disregarding the "wait to be seated sign" and were promptly handed menus. We have loved this little place for years and were so excited they've expanded. We came back here to have breakfast with my mom and her husband, two older people. The staff acknowledged us and found out we wanted a table for four, and then they left us just standing there for nearly ten minutes. Sure, they were busy, but there were empty tables, and every single member of staff with a view to the door made eye contact with us. So how hard would it have been just to seat us and give us menus at least? No, let's have the little seventy-plus folks stand in the cold doorway. We'll give them another try. Just saying, we're already having a much better time down the road at Alan's Country Kitchen. read more

This morning was my third visit to Uncle Daves's Cafe and I am so impressed. The chicken fried steak burrito is wonderful, easily big enough for two meals and very filling. My server, Erin, was a delightful young woman, efficient, friendly, and saw to it that my coffee cup was never empty. The restaurant is clean, well-lit, and no TV blaring away. Now...I remember why I stopped going there. $3.50 FOR A CUP OF COFFEE, I treated my son to a small breakfast, and now know that I will never go there again. $38.50 for two small scramble egg and ham for each of us. Instead. Go 1/4 mile up the road for more,and substantially better food and service at a lower cost. I rate this place as a 1/2 star. read more

A friend wanted corn beef hash, so we googled where to get it and ended up at Uncle Dave's. All four of us loved our food! The bacon came both crunchy and crispy which was perfect for a girl who loves both equally. The eggs were delicious and the hashed browns were cooked perfectly! At approximately 5:30pm, pacific time, my husband and I went in for dinner to the cafe and after our order came to the table my husband tried a small pice of his hashbrowns and found they were overdone/burnt. We spoke with the waitress about it and were polite and simply wanted them remade. When the waitress took them back we could hear the cook argue and he yelled at her telling her it was a "new grill" and "he doesn't know what he is talking about" among other things that could be heard in the dining room. My husband decided he was done after we hurd this and after he walked out. While I was still in there the cook called my husband a "mother f*cker" and at that point after only approximately 6 french fries I was done, this was inappropriate and completly out of line. My husband had put a $50 bill on the table before he left and I asked the waitress to settle our bill. I told her that I couldn't stay when he was being so out of line and inappropriate and that I wanted to settle the bill and was not interested in taking our meals with us even though they had not been touched. There was a verbal altercation between the cook who was being aggressive and my husband who then walked out a second time. The waitress handed me back the $50.00 and said they were gonna take care of it and to just go so we did. We came back a little later to tip the waitress and the cook then started in again and even accused us of a dine and dash despite the fact I asked to settle the bill before we left the first time. Cook was completely inappropriate and his behavior kept escalating the situation and even called me a "b*tch" and I never even said anything to him. Just told the waitress that him using profanity and calling people names was not Okay and I wanted to settle my bill. We left all our food on the table and all that was eaten was 1 bite of hashbrowns and 6 French fries. Definitely needs more professional staff cooking and there should never be a situation like this from staff. read more

only going to eat in this restaurant in the morning time. The same two gals have been serving breakfast in this joint for about 20 years. They're wonderful the food is great the prices middle of the road. If you come in the afternoon or dinner time, they have a much younger staff that are rude inconsiderate and have no idea how to treat customers. For example, I ordered a club sandwich ... our waitress brought me a ham and cheese sandwich. I asked why do I have a ham and cheese sandwich. Her reply is we're out of turkey so you could not have a club. I forgot to tell you that when you ordered. I told our server I don't want a ham & cheese sandwich. Her answer back to me was I'll give you a sweet roll .. I did not want a free sweet roll. What I wanted was a club sandwich not a ham sandwich. Needless to say, I did not eat the sandwich or pay for it and since I did not pay for my sandwich, I was told I was never allowed back in the restaurant for her mistake. I left her a five dollar tip ...we paid for the rest of our food we ate and we left. It's a sad world we live in when these young kids think they can act like this. read more

My husband and I got Uncle Dave's Cafe for the first time today for breakfast take out after seeing the menu in Kitsap Dining Facebook group. I was so excited after reading about their new special, my husband got one of the UDC breakfast biscuit triple decker sandwiches, I ordered the UDC sandwich with sausage patty. What we received was a greasy mess. I also got a McMuffin style sandwich which was incorrect, as I had ordered the UDC on sliced bread with two fried eggs, what I received was a tasteless dry egg on a English muffin and sausage mess. Didn't realize my order was wrong until we got home, 20 minutes away from the restaurant. We will not be going back. read more

Very disappointed. I took my fiancé to go get breakfast this morning at Uncle Daves before we begin a very busy day. walking in the staff was pleasant and welcoming. The menu had some excellent options and we were very excited to order our food. We watched as several people who came in after us had their food delivered and asked if our food was coming soon. The waitress went and checked then came to our table and outright lied to us. She verified our order and told us that the kitchen was working on it and it would be out soon. She then walked over to the kitchen window, 3 feet away, and told the kitchen staff that we had not received our order and told them to start it. After waiting over an hour, I did not appreciate being lied to. I would have been much more understanding and less upset had they just been honest and told us that our order had been overlooked and whether we wanted to wait longer or not. When we approached her and let her know we would be leaving and that we had heard her tell the kitchen to start it, no apology no nothing just turned and told the kitchen "They don't want it now". We did want it, we wanted it an hour ago. So very disappointed. read more

I have been coming here for 20+ years and can always count on one thing: the best biscuits and gravy! A few weeks ago, I got the mess it up and was shocked bc the potatoes were pretty much raw (what happened to the buttery, delicious home fries), but hey, the biscuit and gravy was great. Today, I get the same thing and wasn't shocked to have the same nearly raw potatoes, but was SHOCKED that they changed the gravy!!! What was once touted as the best biscuits and gravy has now turned into the same b&g you get every else. New ownership should've kept at least that the same. read more

We drive 88 miles to eat at Uncle Dave's Cafe. I order one biscuit & Dave's famous gravy & 2 eggs. My wife orders the ham steak & eggs and we have plenty to go for tomorrow! Occasionally I order a quart of gravy to go and freeze it ! It's the best; closed on Sunday's. read more

While waiting our server walked around and clearly knew most people as regulars and was super friendly, but at our table was short and clearly in a hurry to walk away. Biscuits and gravy were yummy.
