Great place! Great food! Great people! What else do I need to write! Love going to eat here!

I went in to get some bisques and gravy to go because I heard how good it was from a few others.. Now I was in the restaurant business for 20 years so I'm a little tougher than your average customer.. Busquit was good, flakey and light, no rock here.. Now to me the gravy was alright, by that I mean I'd order it again but it's missing an owners love mixed into it.. That's why I'm at the 3 star. Place was full staff was friendly and were moving. Uncle Dave's used to be one of my families favorite places to go for breakfast. You couldn't beat the prices and the food was delicious. However, we hadn't been in a while and went again recently and were so beyond disappointed. The prices had gone up SO much. And the food that you got for the price was actually less, both in quality and amounts. The home fries used to be one of my favorite and now I got the smallest amount, half were raw, and they weren't near as good at all. My biscuit was literally doughy inside, and we used to be able to go for under 30 bucks for 3 adults and 1 kid and it was 52 this time for the same stuff. Very very very disappointing. Unsure if these were decisions from the same owner or if it switched hands but we will be taking this off of our list of go to breakfast places unfortunately. read more

It was good but service was incredibly slow. I missed my plane and had allotted an hour to eat.

Moved into the area 2 years ago. My husband and I tried uncle daves cafe about a month after we moved to town. They put raw mushrooms in m scramble and it was not good to say the least. We decided to give them another try today. Unfortunately the first thing we were told when opening the door was, "we close at 1, just today. sorry." It was 12:45 and they didn't even ask us if we'd like to order togo. We will not be coming back. read more

Quality food. Reasonably priced. Breakfast staples are there. I had a Denver omelet that was oh so cheesy, and bacon that was perfectly crisp. We knew it was a good place because it was packed on a Saturday morning. We were a group of 6, and our orders were all correct and food was hot. Good chewin' here. read more

Uncle Dave's is an absolute must if you're in Port Orchard! They hands down have the best biscuits and gravy in the area and their prices remain reasonable despite the crazy inflation going on around us. This place is ok. I honestly would prefer Denny's for breakfast. The food was nothing spectacular, and it took forever to get our check after the meal. There are a few better places for breakfast in Port Orchard. read more

The food is great and cheap as always. I always enjoy the food. The only thing I didn't like is watching the servers eat, touch their mouths, not wash their hands after they ate, and then serve food, handle money and the silverware. Completely unsanitary and it's sad they don't even consider that what they are doing should be unseen by their patrons. I would be ok if they ate and then washed their hands but not one person washed their hands at the sink. I am also a waitress and I am a freak about washing my hands after I touch anything that's not food. All food-handling workers should be doing the same for the sake of contamination and just the grossness of everything. read more

Breakfast for dinner? Yes please! I've been wanting to try Uncle Dave's since we moved back to the Peninsula but my husband and I only get 1 morning a week together - Sunday. Needless to say I was super bummed to find they are closed on Sunday's so we went to plan B. Headed in on a weeknight to try the biscuits and gravy and let me tell you of all the sausage gravy I've tried this is hands down the BEST. Uncle Dave's is located in a small strip mall, nothing fancy and my husband and I were easily the youngest couple there but we LOVED IT. The pull tabs are a unique addition and you can't beat the prices, dinner for two for under $20 bucks. Cash only so be warned. I so wish they were open on Sunday's or we'd be by more often but at least I have a new go to spot for my biscuits and gravy fix. YUM. read more

Delicious American food! Had a great time here after walking out of this dump up the road called "that place" or something. They had no masks or cleaning in place and a physical doxxing list of people who reported them. Truly disgusting owners there. Ate here because of the reviews and was disappointed due to cleanliness and staff. That the tables were sticky and service slow didn't help first impressions. Next food was average or below. This was our first place coming here and we got our items to go. There was about a 20 minute wait for our items but i didn't mind. The cafe is small but is so cute and homey. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and corned beef and hash. Both items were really good and my husband thoroughly enjoyed them. They came with home fries and we cooked perfectly. Unfortunately i don't have pictures as he ate everything before i could snap a pic. Very good food and i know my husband will want to come back. read more

Small Town Diner at its Best: Our breakfast last Sunday was simply a wonderful experience; excellent customer service by staff, on-point Chicken Fried Steak (delicious), and a great sense of humor as well. The place was packed with diners and take out orders; a good sign for a restaurant these days. And instead of carrying on as if this was all a burden, the staff were a hoot; laughing and joking with us all. A true pleasure. So busy. Ended up leaving. Both waitresses were working on to go orders. Busboy was putting out clean coffee cups instead of cleaning tables so waiting patrons could have a seat. Looked around and no one had any food. Figured it was a busy and went to Alan's Cafe instead. Will definitely try Uncle Dave's another time. read more

Been wanting to try this place out because I've heard a lot of good things about it and I gotta say I was beyond satisfied. We tried the corned beef and their homemade biscuits and gravy (I guess people drive to Uncle Dave's just for their biscuits) which they are famous for and they were both pretty amazing. The service was great. It gets pretty packed though but I can see why, and you can only use cash or check. The prices are very cheap and the portions are more than enough for one. We will definitely come back to try out the steak! read more

We were passing through on our way to the ferry and ate here and had a lovely experience. The ladies serving were sweet and friendly! The food was yummy and hats off to the chef especially for the hash browns with onions (best I ever had)! Today was my first trip into uncle Dave's and I will definitely be a repeat customer! You know those people that walk into a restaurant five minutes before it closes? Yeah that was me today. I was drinking coffee and waiting for my food before I realized everyone around me was finishing up and leaving. I told the waitress she could cancel my order but she wasn't having it. She said it wasn't a problem and that our order would be out shortly. First came the biscuits and gravy. Tasty sausage gravy over homemade biscuits. I could have been done but I had to press on! I had the chicken fried steak with two eggs over easy, home fries and white toast. Everything was like you would expect, tastes like it came out of grandmas kitchen. Delicious comfort food and a rainy northwest Saturday morning. I didn't eat it but I also saw the vegetable omelette. It took up half the plate, was stuffed with vegetables, and had two types of cheese on it. Large portions at a reasonable price. Our bill for enough food to feed four Americans was 34 bucks! We were looking for some place to support during the pandemic and alway try to choose a small business. We were not disappointed in this place , great food, friendly staff and great service. The chicken fried steak was delicious. Good size portions and at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend having breakfast there. It was a bit of a drive, but under 100 miles for us, and totally worth it, we'll definitely be back. read more

The restaurant is just not the same under the new management. We ordered biscuits and gravy today and not only was the gravy cold it was very bland. Had to add a lot of pepper to get some flavor. The irritating thing was they would not accommodate for somebody with a food allergy. I am allergic to cinnamon and I was really craving French toast. I asked if they could make it without cinnamon and they said no. It's not hard to whip together two eggs and a little bit of milk. Also waiting for a table to be cleared took over 10 minutes. They weren't that busy. The staff is not nearly as friendly either. The bacon was also overcooked and cold. I used to love Uncle Dave's when Dave actually owned the restaurant. The restaurant would have gotten three stars if it had not been for today's visit. I did tell our waitress and she didn't seem to care. read more

When food that was ordered finally did come out it was severely undercooked. Had to be sent back to be cooked more. The food was good! The service was great especially when it was busy. My family got seated quickly and everything else was speedy too.

I am so glad I don't live closer to Uncle Dave's Cafe, because the food is so good and my waistline can only afford infrequent visits. I may be 65, but thanks to a lot of exercise I have the appetite of a 25 year old. And boy do they deliver with large portion sizes and very modest pricing. I devoured my steaming hot chicken fried steak, eggs, home fries, the fantastic home made biscuit and that wonderful gravy........and was I stuffed. Rarely do I refuse to "assist" my wife in her meal, but today was the rare exception. I have no idea how they can serve that much good food for the price point they charge, but I'm glad they do. We got there at 10:30 on a Tuesday morning and the place was packed. We were lucky to get a table right away. And while we were eating, the the door was like going non-stop and all the tables except one were occupied the entire time we were there. The only reason for holding back one star is the coffee. It could be better, but that WILL NOT keep us from going back. read more
