This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at any of the locations. We waited for 1 hour with only water, chips, and salsa on the table. When we asked about our food, it came right out. It was without question horrible. It apparently had been sitting there for at least:30 minutes. The manager Nicole couldn't care less. The waitress Omrys( at least that's what the bill said) was distant, short, and impatient so we didn't expect much from her anyway. As a frequent customer at the Katy ( before it closed) and Austin locations this has turned my stomach with the entire company. If your location couldn't function for whatever reason, make the adjustments. Don't have the customer suffer for it. read more

I love everything about Uncle Julio's. The atmosphere, food quality, serice has been wonderful. I am sad there is not one in Tampa. I moved to Florida from Maryland and was lucky enough to live close to one back home. Uncle Julio's used to be our favorite Mexican restaurant in Orlando until this last visit yesterday. Apparently they have made lots of changes to the menu removing some staple food items. They removed Chile con Queso from the menu and replaced it with Queso Blanco. Uncle Julio's was the only restaurant in town with proper Queso, now they are just like every other Mexican restaurant in town. Queso Blanco is bland and has a much different consistency that the proper yellowish orange Chili con Queso. Additionally, my Mom has a few staples that she likes to order at proper Mexican restaurants and she wanted a Chile Relleno. Well, this also was not an option. They talked her into ordering what they say was similar which turned out to be what appeared to be a small chili chimichanga, supposedly with cheese sauce but it was just melted shredded cheese on top. Not at all close to what she wanted. Another family member ordered chicken and steak fajitas and the chicken had skin on it. I've never ever seen chicken fajitas with the skin on it. One member of our party wanted to order vegetable fajitas (grilled vegetables) and was told that they don't have that anymore too. How hard is it to grill some vegetables up? Uncle Julio's is where we go when we want great Mexican food and when we are celebrating something like we were yesterday. This restaurant is an hour from our house with traffic which hasn't been a problem to get great food that we love...with these changes in the menu and removal of our favorite items unique to Uncle Julio's in Orlando, I don't know if we need to make that drive through heavy traffic to experience. My friend Matt and I came here for dinner. I had a gift card with "" $75. I asked the bartender if she could check it and she said the gift card had zero dollars on it. And I told her I got it last year I haven't been here since and she said the manager that gave it to you probably didn't put any money on it- she asked me who I spoke to I told her the gentleman and she was like oh he doesn't work here anymore so we can't help you. We then waited approximately 45 minutes for our food and we were told by another bartender that our food order wasn't even put in the system. I will not be returning to uncle Julio's. I have no idea why our bartender/server stood at the POS system and didn't put our food and I feel like that was very rude and then made us wait 45 minutes for our rice and beans. We had a Sunday lunch reservation and were seated right away. A friendly lady greeted us, took our drink orders, and let us know our waitress would be with us shortly. It soon became clear that our waitress was busy and possibly covering more than her share of tables. In the meantime, the woman who greeted us went above and beyond. We watched as she was everywhere--bringing drinks, setting up tables, refilling chips and salsa, and stepping in wherever needed at all the tables, all with a smile and friendly attitude the entire time. We later learned her name is Nicole. What really sealed the deal was the staff's attitude. Several employees came across as unpleasant and uninterested, as if we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. No apologies for the delays, no effort to make things right. For the prices and reputation, I expected far better. We had a party of 8 and were looking forward to a good time--but the experience was incredibly disappointing. The wait for our food was excessively long, and when it finally came, there were items added to our order that we never requested, and things we did order were completely missing. When we brought this to the staff's attention, there was no real effort to fix it. Instead of trying to make things right, the manager was dismissive and unwilling to offer any sort of discount or solution--even after all the mistakes and poor service. When we pushed for the bill to be corrected fairly, it turned into a big ordeal, and shockingly, they even called the local authorities on us. All of this during what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration. It was humiliating and frustrating, especially as visitors just trying to enjoy our time in Orlando. We came here for lunch when were in the area on I-drive. It just happened to be Cinco de Mayo (not planned- and you can see how behind in my reviews I am, lol :). So due to the holiday I assume, we did have to wait a little while but we were fine with it as there is lots of fun stuff to do and look at in the area. As a bonus there was a coupon inside to help us save $ on the Wheel which we wanted to do anyway. We were originally seated outside right in the sun which was a bit much for our family visiting from Ohio. Instead of being helpful, the situation was escalated unnecessarily by the manager, Veronica. Her attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. She made us feel like we were a burden simply for speaking up about problems with our meal. There was no effort to listen, resolve the issue, or show basic hospitality. Dining out should feel welcoming, especially when issues arise, and this experience was the exact opposite. Because of how we were treated, we will not be returning, nor would we recommend this location to others. The staff was great getting our drinks and giving us time to look over the menu. There was so many choices to try and decide what to get. They had kids' coloring and seats for them, so it worked for our family. With the high ceilings and how busy they were it did get a little loud in there. The kids' meals had a lot of options which is good for picky eaters. The 2 flavors of salsa went great with the chips. One had a kick to it the other was milder. THEN came the desert - we normally don't get desert after dinner, but it was my wife's birthday so we splurged. The chocolate piñata was decadent! Hello dear reader, so my family went to this restaurant due to their chocolate piñata we wanted to try. We sat down got our drinks and some chips and queso, pretty decent may I add. However, the bad part is the time our food took to come out. I ordered the steak enchiladas and I'm pretty sure they had to go to the local cow pasture kill a cow, have their gun misfire go get a new one come back kill a cow, process it then come back because my food took an hour and 30 minutes to come out. My entire family was served lukewarm food that honestly looked reheated and they were all done with their food before mine even came out. My food was the most mid food I've had in my life. And I paid 25$ for the small little plate of what I'm ashamed to call enchiladas. After that we bought the piñata which I was convinced they would have to go to a foreign country to get the cocoa beans and come back but somehow it was out very shortly. It was very good but if we had got it at first it would've been worth it, but we got it at the end, which compared to the rest of our food that took an hour to come out I'd say 15 minutes is pretty good. For the price you pay to eat here I'd expect it to be out in minutes, not literally an hour. In terms of the decoration it seemed very well thought out.
