Jam Burger was the Tuesday special. Yum!
    Lynette H.

We found a gem of a restaurant. We were in the area passing through at supper time. Started off with some old fashioned sand a Bloody Mary All their drinks were delicious and nice sizes. We had the best waitress, Dannie. She was so sweet and funny. I ordered the Jerk Chicken bowl which was heavenly. My husband had the potato soup and the jam burger special. I tried his soup. I would go back for just the soup. My husband enjoyed his burger and I will have to take his word on it because I did not try it. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining. They were busy but no one else ate out on the deck. It was such an all around great dining experience. If we ever find ourselves in the area again this will be our go to spot.

Great place to eat. Was my first time there on a date. Service was good and so was the food.

First time here…read more Food: It was a Friday evening, around 8:00, and we decided to try some of the fish specials. I ordered the Pan-Seared Walleye, and she chose the Lake Perch Fry. Since our entrées included access to the salad bar, we started there. The appearance of the salad bar was disappointing. I realize it was later in the evening, but there were literally salad bar fixings all over the place. Some items were mixed together, some had spilled onto the enclosure, and there was food on the floor as well. Much of what was offered looked like it had come straight out of a can. The walleye wasn't bad. However, the mixed vegetables were a pile of mush, and although I had requested the potato pancake be extra crispy, it was still undercooked in the middle. The perch fry was okay, but nothing special. For dessert, she ordered the Brandy Alexander, and I had the LemonBerry Cake. The Brandy Alexander was very good, while the LemonBerry Cake was mediocre. Service: Our server did a nice job getting us settled in. Water and drinks arrived promptly, and they were friendly and pleasant throughout the evening. However, they became involved in a lengthy conversation at another table, so getting our check took quite a while. Atmosphere: To be honest, the place looks a bit run-down and could probably benefit from some TLC. Since it was later in the evening, there weren't many other diners, and the restaurant was relatively quiet. The view of the lake through the windows is spectacular and makes it a great place to watch the sunset. I wish the food had been better. Unfortunately, this isn't a place we are likely to return to.

Tyler's service was fast accurate and very professional. I had the ribs and my partner had the chicken tenders. Just as I tell people by word of mouth, "If you wand really good ribs that come off the bone nicely, you just have to try the ribs here at the Mineshaft." Once again, as always, an extremely satisfying visit to the Mineshaft. A fantastic place to eat. Incessant Research (Investigative Research & Journalism. Not for hire.)

I found this rule rather obnoxious. My group and I opted for the buffet which I did end up regretting. The food just was not good. I should have ordered off the menu. I would not return for the buffet. The price was good though! And it's definitely a family friendly place. Our server was nice. The customers were meh; my friends and I attempted to take pics and kept getting photobombed by a gross older man. The arcade upstairs is extremely loud, but like I said before, totally cool for children. Mineshaft is not my jam but it might be yours! They seem to do a lot there.

Luckily for us they recommended Bilda's Friess Lake Pub. What an awesome place. Small, friendly, with a large selection of beers to choose from, and our food was outstanding. Were immediately told by other customers (obviously regulars) that we had to have the smoked wings. Great call. They were perfect. Very casual place. Nothing fancy but very comfortable. Have a great outside area also where they have bands and comfortably host large groups (a large group of local teachers were there celebrating the last day of school). Highly recommend

Service: There was an issue with our order. Apparently, it did not "print" back in the kitchen. We ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes before someone figured out what had happened. They acknowledged the mistake, apologized, and comped our drinks. Atmosphere: They now have outdoor entertainment every evening, and there is plenty of seating to choose from. The traffic around the roundabout intersection can get noisy, but I think they simply turn up the volume to compensate. A good spot for smoked meats and other sandwiches.
