Uncle Tetsu is a convenient in that you can pick up a Japanese cheesecake almost immediately. They're so quick with it. They have a rewards program. There's no seating inside. location/parking: located in the rosemead walmart plaza next door to panda express :) there is ample parking as the lot is HUGE food: uncle tetsu is widely known for their japanese cheesecakes! ($13 each) theyre soo fluffy, yummy, and not too sweet! they also rotate the flavors regularly but some of my favorites are original and ube :) they also have many other treats and a variety of matcha drinks that i will try the next time i visit. service: really fast & the workers are friendly. ambiance: no indoor seating, so its more of a takeout situation. tip: dont forget to ask for a stamp card and collect a stamp with each cheesecake purchase ~ read more

On a Saturday afternoon in early January, my sister and I were nearby and decided to look inside. Inside is spacious with glass counter of displayed desserts. They sell chocolate cheesecake besides plain or strawberry. Also they sell small versions along tea and coffee. The counter person was nice and offered samples. We love how light and fluffy the cheesecakes are at Uncle Tetsu! The staff was super friendly and generous with samples. The original flavor is still our favorite--classic and delicious. The pandan coconut was also a standout, with a stronger coconut flavor that really came through. We're not fans of the burnt basque, but that might just be personal preference since we don't enjoy bitter notes in our desserts. So great to have Uncle Tetsu so near by the area! It is located in the Walmart SuperCenter plaza next to Subway. Very great service and workers are super welcoming as you come in. Up in the front you can try different cheesecakes and workers are super helpful when wanting to try new flavors. The ice matcha is very refreshing and authentic. I just hoped it would be sweeter. (my preference) Attached to the cup is this super cute Uncle Tetsu sticker! The japanese cheesecake, the star of the show was super good as well. Presentation was 10/10! I came here for the grand opening because there was such a buzz. They are known for having Japanese cheesecakes which are fluffier and airier than American cheesecake. They have seasonal flavors. This location is different from the rest in which it has coffee. I had the brown sugar latte which tasted like brown sugar. I'm not a huge fan of brown sugar which might be why I didn't love the coffee. I definitely do want to try the caramel coffee. I loved how they had the latte art. This location also has cold brews and cute little cupcakes that are a great addition. I love the cheese tarts! read more

My daughter and I tried Uncle Tetsu on a whim after seeing it in the Walmart shopping center in Rosemead. We tried the Strawberry and the seasonal Cherry Blossom cheesecakes. Delicious! My daughter loved it so much we had Uncle Tetsu cheesecakes for her 11th birthday. My guests raved about them. We stop by Uncle Tetsu every time we shop at Walmart. I don't really write negative reviews, but the type of service and communication from this business is a dam joke! Today, we are celebrating my son's 7th birthday and he requested for a strawberry cake from Uncle Tetsu. The posted hours online is 9am, so we called earlier in the week to confirm the opening time. And yes whoever picked up the dam phone confirmed 9am. We had this whole day planned out based on the opening time given to us by this location. So my wife shows up at 9am to find out they are close and don't open until 10am! Alright...a bit upset, but it's for our son's birthday. We come back at 10am and are told the cakes will not be ready for another 25 mins! WTF! What's the point of opening at 10am if you got nothing to sell?!?! So we come back at 10:30am, the strawberry cake isn't available! We settled for the original and were just fed up dealing with this place. This place is lucky it's our son's birthday. Took us 3 trips to finally get a dam cake that wasn't even the flavor of our choice. read more

I've been to the one at the Santa Anita Mall a few times to pick up these cheesecakes, but this new location is literally 5 minutes from my house. Easy location as it's in the same plaza as Wells Fargo, Panda Express, Subway and Walmart. I was greeted with friendly service like always and they also helped me choose a "new to me" flavor. I ended up going with the original and strawberry. The strawberry actually tasted like real strawberries and not the artificial kind. Both were yummy as expected. read more

I always go here during my day off.. after i eating at panda express next door cos they have chef special on the weekdays. Felicity and bobbie always cheerful and happy to see me. Both of them are always friendly and attentive and i got my order on timely manner. My friends and family love the cheesecake, cheese tarts and the delicious cookies. If you like the Japanese style cheese cake you'll most likely love it. If you only like the traditional heavier cheese cake you may be disappointed. I like the consistency and flavors. I only ordered the strawberry and P as Dan coconut. My family enjoys the strawberry. I like the Pandan coconut. The fragrance may not be to everyone's liking. This location is fairly new, yet I've already been here 3 times I'm glad they have a location so close to home. Japanese cheesecakes are so good, and I just couldn't stay away when they had their opening week. All of the staff are very nice and professional with the customers. They even have samples at the front for people to try different flavors. Besides the items on the regular menu, they also have mini cheesecakes! Their cheesecakes are so soft and definitely not as sweet as western cheesecakes, but I like that they aren't super sweet. They have just the right amount of sugar. I bought an oreo and original cheesecake to share with my coworkers, and they all really liked it! I bought an ube one for my family, and that was really good as well. All 3 of my experiences have been good so far here, and I'm looking forward to coming back for more in the future. read more

We have tried the other location in the Santa Anita mall but this one so much closer.The store is cute and clean, love the ambiance. I wouldn't order this item again. I also asked for a sample of the cassava mochi strips. The woman working there kindly gave me a sample and topped it with coconut milk. It was delicious. The coconut milk was rich and creamy, and the dish itself wasn't overly sweet. I would definitely come back to order this. Customer service was friendly and welcoming.
