Order from the app, Tock. Usually have to order a day in advance for pick up. The first time I tried uncle Tetsu was in Toronto. At that time the line was ridiculously long. So glad I could order in advance for pick up. Ordered the strawberry for myself and an ube for a friend. They included a card with information on the different ways of eating it: warm, room temp, chilled or frozen. I personally prefer it chilled. At less than $12 a cake, it's a bargain. So disappointed, we were there at 12:12pm driving from Sacramento to especially purchase their Cheesecake. There wasn't a line so Jenny shouldn't of made the error. This review is for the basque cheesecake, I haven't tried their regular cheesecake yet but I will. I must admit that the cheesecake didn't taste all that different from a regular cheesecake, except it was a bit more crumbly than smooth and silky. I ate it cold, I heard you can also warm it up and it tastes quite different. The price is pretty reasonable and we ordered ahead so there was no wait but apparently people wait for hours for this. There is another place that is famous for basque cheesecakes in oakland but the cake is much more expensive and sells out immediately so it's very hard to get your hands on one. These Japanese cheesecake are not overly sweet like their American counterpart, plus a lot less dairy. We got both the original and Ube. The flavor is very subtle in the Ube and the original tasted slightly eggy. We are more of a texture eater and the cheesecake is more of a soufflé/sponge cake. We may come back to try the brunt basque cheesecake. Update: we refrigerated both cheesecake and tried them the next day. WOW! the texture totally changed! (They have little dots on the ground that line you up against the wall instead of through the middle of the landing where the escalator goes down so make sure to follow those!
