Squad and eel clay pot rice

The rice is crispy and toppings are full not disappointed But do expect to wait for the clay pot rice as it ales long to cook unless preordered before dining The veggie is excellent filled with fired pig skins. lol Not the most healthy choice but so delicious

FONG KEE CLAY POT located in Union City is one of my favorites -- for dine or to go orders! It reminds of me of my Grandma's clay pot, reminds me of my childhood and home. I have tried a few clay pots and my favorites are Spare Ribs with Chinese Sausage and Chicken with Mushroom with Chinese Sausage -- very tasty and delicious clay pot rice dishes. As it's located inside a busy plaza with a supermarket and other restaurants, parking can be difficult. Staff are very nice and the service provided is very efficient. The space isn't large and can get filled up quickly. They accept payment methods of both cash and debit/credit card. I would highly recommend; very delicious and also worth the wait! Looking forward to dining here again, very soon!

Been wanting to try this place for a long time. And we actually enjoyed it. It was plentiful and we had left over. My only complained we needed more meat, there was sooo much rice in the pot and not enough meat. Otherwise, it was flavorful. We are glad we ordered another meat option. The place is clean. When we came in there was only 2 customers and by the time we left, it was full. I wanna come back here and try different food. Congee next time.

It's been on our list for years, we have had claypots in the City, but this place is next to our old go to dumpling spot. Service was great, no rush, food was tasty, and prices reasonable. Would I return? Of course we would. Ordered a claypot with frog legs, delicious and the rice consistency was good, the crisp bottom was scraped off and devoured. Another was a claypot with spareribs and preserved meats, very good, the ribs were well marinated. Lastly we ordered the dish with pigs feet, tongue and stomach, this dish requires a lot of work, cooked in sauces for a long period of time. My favorite anywhere, wish they had pig ears in this specialty dish.

Coming to visit Fong Kee Clay Pot has been on my list for a while since they serve yellow eel claypot rice. I ordered their Chinese Sausage and Yellow Eel Claypot Rice and Pork Bones with Dried Vegetable Soup. They do have a variety of Claypot rice options. The pork bones with dried vegetable soup came out piping hot, the pork bones have been cooking for a long time. The broth had a nice light flavor but mixed well with the dried vegetable. This is a simple soup but very warming. My claypot rice came within 5-10 minutes which was faster than I anticipated. It came with a good amount of yellow eel and Chinese sausage, to my surprise they also added some Chinese Bacon in it. Portion size for regular is a good size for one person. The rice on the bottom was crispy and you could add their sauce onto the claypot rice to your liking. The staff also served some hot water which was really nice on a cold day, the water was not too hot or too cold. Perfect temperature. The staff here speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese. The plaza in where Fong Kee is located is busy, but there is parking - sometimes you might have to wait to find a spot. I will definitely be back to try other claypot rice options they have, as well as the dried tangerine peel duck and their soy marinated goose wings.

Finally went to Fong Kee clay pot. Ordered the chicken mushrooms and Chinese sausages clay pot, and the spareribs Chinese sausage clay pot, to go. So no pictures of the clay pots . The lady working there didn't understand me when I asked about the size difference between a regular and a large. She showed me a rice bowl for a regular ‍, but I am pretty sure it must be bigger than that. I ordered both large, but the spareribs sausage box is much smaller than the other one. I like the food. There are many choices on the menu!! This is located in a strip mall, so plenty of parking. I went at noon time, and the place was not crowded, only 2 tables. Very clean place, quiet, nicely decorated.

Food overall was good. We tried the regular size clay pot C3 Chinese sausage w yellow eel clay pot C13 frog leg clay pot. These are Pelophylax nigromaculata taste a bit like chicken. The last time I had these were years ago in Hong Kong. So when I saw this on the menu I thought I should give it a try. It didn't disappoint. Both clay pot was good. The prices for the soups were a bit pricey. $10 for a bowl. So we didn't try it. The appetizer A6 looks good but I don't think we can finish it so I would need to wait until next time when we come w a few more people. The menu needs work. I think they should redo the menu. Looking at all the stickers covering the old prices all over the menu makes me actually want to order less bc of their price increases. The bathroom was a bit dirty. They were a bit cheap on the soap. The soap was very diluted. Price is not cheap considering that the bowl is just the right portion amount to make you full so no leftovers for us to take home. $50 total for two bowls w tips and tax. We went on a Sat around 6:00 so it's right at dinner time. There was no line and plenty of tables left. The two restaurants nearby had lines. If we do come back, we will probably order the lower prices clay pots like pork patty or chicken with mushrooms.

I'm a fan!!! I've been looking for a clay pot place for quite some time. All the other places I've been to weren't as good, rice was not made well, or it just didn't taste good. Since my mom started to live with me, it's been pretty good looking for Chinese restaurants that suited her taste. We decided to give Fong Kee a try and it hit the spot! Usually it takes a bit for the food to come out especially since it is made using the actual clay pots. Give yourself a good 15-20mins waiting. This place also does get pack quick. There was three of us so we ordered one LARGE chicken mushroom with sausage and one regular size ribs and sausage. We finished both! The rice was crispy, the flavor was great. I highly recommend! I didn't get to try other things but will next time~

Fong Kee Clay Pot is a local Chinese/Cantonese speciality shop that serves great clay pot rice dishes. This shop sits in a very popular plaza filled with other restaurants, but I really enjoyed my experience. The parking was a little tough, but there were plenty of seats. The service was quick on a Friday lunch, and the food came out pretty quick considering how long clay pot rice usually takes. The dishes themselves were quite tasty. I've been craving clay pot rice for quite a while, and this hit the spot. Very yummy!! Overall, Fong Kee Clay Pot is a great choice for delicious clay pot rice!

Food was delicious as always. Ordered the eel, pork ribs and minced pork clay pots. All are delicious. I especially liked that you can add your own amount of soya sauce. Service was accurate and fast. Ambiance was casual, expect quick eat, leave and get out.

Amazing food I love the presentation of it and the way the rice crisps up as you eat. The service was great as well, I loved that they served warm water in the winter. It was the perfect temperature water too, not too hot not too cold. I am definitely coming back here.

Surprisingly good, but also not that surprising? Clay pot, when done well, is so good. It's a ratios game of making sure the amount of rice to protein to sauce is done properly. Then it's a matter of getting the right temperature and letting it cook and simmer in the clay pot for the right amount of time. Fong Kee Clay Pot has the clay pot game down rather well, but could have been improved. Their clay pot rice was quite good. We ordered the Chicken and Mushroom and Chinese sausage and we ordered the Spareribs with Blackbean sauce. Both were done quite well and the long grain rice was a nice touch. I did wish it was as greasy as it was and they told you that if you left the rice in the pot and pushed it down, it could crisp up the rice and leave it as a nice element varying with additional texture. Overall, quite good and we'd visit again if we were in town and craving some clay pot rice.

They used to accept only cash which made it inconvenient, but nowadays, they do accept credit cards as well. Love it. Excellent customer service too. I like the friendly and welcoming staffs here. Great first impression after so many years. Authentic Hong Kong foods. If you're coming from the South Bay Area, this place doesn't disappoint. We don't have very good Cantonese HK style cafes that serve good A/B/C/D/etc. breakfasts and most places are overpriced. Good value for good foods here. I paid $16 with taxes included for B-breakfast, so I left them $4 tips. $16 for everything was considered cheap! I had french fries/hash brown/two eggs/chicken steak/broccoli/carrot/etc. and comes with hot beverage of choice. Very fulfilling. Delicious foods with authentic drinks. Everything was generous in portions and delicious, so I ate the entire plate of foods along with my hot cup HK milk tea. No leftovers. Yummy! I'm really loving their big breakfasts now. I do miss all the good and affordable Hong Kong cafe foods. Having excellent service is a plus. Television was turned on with HK news. Loved the old interior vibes and beautiful foodie ads on the walls. There's lots of tables and chairs inside too. All positive. I'll be back.

It was very quiet in the restaurant for a weekend dinner, which was quite surprising considering how popular the other locations are. The whole operation is pretty contactless as you order via QR code, there's a pitcher of water at your table and they bring you the food. I got the Original Sliced Beef Noodles. It's sort of like hotpot, where they bring you the boiling soup and the toppings in a tray, so you dump them all into the soup and eat it while it's hot. The beef was pretty lean and tough, so it wasn't what I expected because the Chinese menu actually translates to "fatty beef." Meat and toppings tasted bland, like they were sitting in the freezer. Other than that, the meal was alright and you can't really mess up this kind of meal since there's not much cooking involved. The meal was a bit pricey for what it is, and unfortunately I can't imagine them being open for long if things don't improve. I do recommend trying other locations in the chain though.
