Had take out from there on Tuesday night and I have to say it is the worst Chinese food I have ever had in my whole life. I was looking forward to it as I am from New York City where we have the best Chinese food, but I'm sad to say this place is awful. First the food is very greasy with very bad cheap oil and incredibly salty. Second they don't even include white rice as most Chinese restaurants do and no condiments it was quite pricey for food that was below acceptable. Everyone should try this place. Ignore the bad reviews! I order carry out, so I can't comment about the service, but the man that greeted me was super nice. They do offer dine-in if you wish to eat out during covid though. This is a nice hidden gem. My fave was the dial oil hand drawn wide noodles. I also ordered the mapo tofu and chive and pork dumpling. A popular dish you see in the images is the eggplant dragon. It's yummy and sweet. It reminds me of fried bananas which was always my favorite treat as a kid. I thought the flavoring of the dishes I got were just right, not too salty not too bland. read more

My husband and I went here on a whim for lunch. We had heard this was a restaurant that was based out of New York and this is their first Texas location, so we were curious. The restaurant inside is very new, modern, and clean. The menu offered so many items, many which we were not familiar with so we asked our waiter for recommendations. He recommended the hand pulled noodle soup with beef, the braised pork belly, and a side of rice. Both dishes were good, but not encore worthy to us. The noodles seemed fresh, but undercooked. The broth was very light and not flavorful. The braised pork belly had a lot of flavor, but I wasn't a big fan of how it was cooked. It was very mushy and soft; I would have liked a bit of a char. Maybe this was intended? It was served in a big portion so the pork belly was definitely shareable. The staff here was very welcoming and friendly. Again, the menu was extensive so I wouldn't mind coming back here to try more of their dishes. Overall, this was a unique and interesting restaurant to try in NW Plano. read more

Delicious and unique Chinese dishes you won't get anywhere else around here. Hailing from New York with Michelin recognition, Plano is lucky to have them! If you're a garlic lover, dial noodle is your bff. It's handmade, chewy, tangy and garlicky. Dragon eggplant is also great - even my eggplant hating husband liked it. Went there for dinner per friends recommendation. We were pleasantly surprised. The noodle came piping hot and the broth was really good. Mixed with the Hand Pulled Noodles are transparent rice noodles. The Chinese Beef Hamburger was spicy but my husband loved it. He calls it Tasty Spicy. The pot stickers had good flavor and love the extra thin layer of crisp on the bottom. It was a great meal. read more

I wish I could leave zero stars. Very poor service and my order was not even given correctly as ordered. The waiter laughed and said you can condiments from the table. Like what! None of the meals come with rice or noodles. They charge extra for it on top of the entrees if you want some. If you want to substitute any meat they charge extra, which is understandable, however if you are going to charge over 2.00 like other businesses you should inform the customer. To pay over 84.00 for lunch that was not even made right , tasty or how you wanted is the worse. Please don't go here unless you are prepared to overpay for your meal. They still had the audacity to try to argue with me that the fees were high since all the food or their supplies are overpriced where they buy it from. Nothing matched the menu fees at all. I could have went to fine dine elsewhere for a better meal and service with what I paid here. read more

I got the H1 noodles with beef and lamb dumplings. Service was fast and friendly. The noodles were large chewy and heavenly. I asked for some beef with my noodles that was tender and had a nice flavor. The dumblings were also meaty and flavorful. Would definitely come by again. At one point, one of the staff member turned up the Chinese music and started doing some traditional dance (at least I assume). Definitely got an extra browny point for that. read more

I ordered the pork and cabbage dumplings, the were delicious. The filling was seasoned very well and the dough was tender. I also had the shredded pork in spicy sauce. The restaurant is very new and clean, the staff is decent, food came out fast. My rating is based purely on the quality and taste of the food. My favorite foods are noodles, I have gone to all of the noodle soup restaurants in Dallas and the quality here is subpar. I'm so sad because this is so close to my house, i don't enjoy the 25 min drive to Allen or plano, so i really hope Uncle Zhou's will improve. For now, I'll continue to make that drive. To start off, the noodles in the beef noodle soup i had were completely undercooked, there were solid raw dough in the thick chunks of noodles. This is because the noodles were really wide and really thick. The chefs underestimated the cooking time. A good hand pulled noodle can be wide, but then it has to be THIN and the dough has to be well kneaded and stretched to achieve the el dente or QQ chewy texture. This was just terribly thick and raw. There was no chewy-ness, the texture was a 2/10. Next, the noodles being so thick and wide could not absorb any of the flavors of the soup. I had to add extra sauce to give the wide dough some flavor so i could swallow. Flavor was 1/10. You only get three pieces of beef in your soup with two pieces of vegetables. The broth was very underwhelming. Condiments fell flat. 2/10 This bowl of beef noodle soup was not exciting, and after I ate it, I wished I hadn't. Please improve and make the dough better, the dough is so important for a noodle house. read more

They said our order was up next but never came. We proceeded to fast food as we were starving. One man chef cannot sustain the demand. Tonight the food wasn't as good, the service miserable, we had to wait almost an hour for our food, we had to ask for plates, we had to ask them to clean up our used dishes and only one entree came at a time. We waited for the other entree for another half hour. The large shrimp wasn't deveined! I watched and they were filling many take out orders instead of serving us our food. The servers couldn't speak English. My family and I went for lunch the first time and it was different. Now we'll never go back. read more

Chicken is usually lean, but it seemed like they used all their scrape skin and fat edges - for the whole order not just a few pieces. I feel bad for the people who left negative reviews because they came during the restaurant's soft opening, when wait time/service was long and the restaurant didn't have all their items yet, because this place is GREAT. I can tell you that I came in today for Saturday lunch, 2/15/20, and all those problems don't exist now. Service was good and the servers were attentive, I came in and was seated immediately (in fact, greeted at the door before I even opened it), and the food came out really quickly. I ordered the lamb dumplings and lamb noodles. First of all, I LOVE their hand-pulled noodles! You can see the chefs behind the counter actually pulling it! And the noodles have a great chewy texture so full of that good noodle-y flavor. The broth was delicious and light, it was SO comforting. The lamb dumplings, ALSO made with fresh homemade dough, were fantastic. This place is such a great find for noodles and dumplings, I can't wait to come back. My only complaint is that it's located in an area with too few parking spaces. read more

We finally got the chance to dine at Uncle Zhou and were impressed with the food. They were all very tasty. The service was also superb. The prices are higher than other authentic Asian restaurants and they charge $1.50 for rice unlike typical Asian restaurants. I think they should at least offer rice for free with each order of entree due to their price point. The restaurant is overall very clean but I would recommend that they pay a little more attention to the chairs/ booths as well like they do on the floors and tables. By seeing Mike Chen video I want to try it here, but it was a big disappointment. I have ordered hand-pulled noodles with lamb spicy version, but they gave me without spice and noodles were not cooked properly, there was no flavor, it was a to-go order, I called them they were ready to make once again, fortunately, I did return the first picked up order the owner was checking either I was correct or not. Wow where to begin. I came in with my team at 11am to give this place a try. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time since we were trying to beat the lunch rush but service was not only slow but also terrible. Less than half the menu was available and the waitress still didn't even know what was in the dishes. There's not pictures for the dishes so when they brought the food out they had no idea what each dish was and who to give it too. Absolute nightmare sadly it doesn't end there. We were still waiting for our dumplings which never came and when we told them it was missing they were confused and by this time people started to come in for lunch. Now here's when it gets special. The waitress started actively ignoring us we would wave them over because at this point we were already there for two hours waiting for just dumplings but when we tried to get their attention they would see the wave and turn around and immediately go to another table to avoid helping us. That's just the service. This restaurant is from New York so I had high hopes but I think the owner still thinks he's in New York because the portion to dollar ratio is horrendous. Maybe if the food was good then I'd at least understand but I think I would have had better Chinese food at Panda Express. Coming from an Asian I hope this will give you some perspective. read more
