My husband had the burger with short rib. He said it was good but didn't pop. Burgers are his benchmark to compare restaurants. This afternoon, we (3 of us) had the pleasure of dining at Under the Moon. Although we had visited the sister restaurant in Bordentown on a few occasions, this was our first visit to the one in Lambertville and hopefully not our last. We went for a late lunch (2:45 pm) and given the beautiful day we dined outside on the porch. Our server, Andrea, was very polite and courteous. In order to try various items on the menu we settled on having two 'Four' flights of tapas as well as a Cuban sandwich - 9 items in all. Each dish was prepared well and each had its unique seasoning. We enjoyed all of them with a few of them garnering our vote for 'best of the lot'. Understanding that everyone's palate is unique we won't share which ones here. This is our go to in Lambertville located next to the Imbue Building. We were honored to meet the chef and proprietor of the restaurant. It was beautifully and creatively decorated for Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year and was a wonderful meal. The food was craft and meticulously arranged. The fries were homey and the burgers cooked to perfection. Our favorite decoration was the coffee sack cushions featuring beans from all continents complimenting the rustic environment. So I thought that my lunch would not be great...I had a reservation for indoor seating but our reservation got switched to outside (it's 56 degrees and raining). I asked for the manager and she was immediately on it. She put us outside but in a heated patio area. We had the whole place to ourselves, which was nice because it was a working lunch. I ordered the tapas entree for 30 dollars with caramelized onions, polenta fries, mushrooms and meatballs. All of the tapas were on the colder side and way overpriced for what I got. Great desserts and food! Friendly staff. However, came in for a two top and was seated towards the kitchen. It was cute and intimate, but we had another 2 top walk in and they were loud. Being that the space near the kitchen is smaller, it was hard for my partner and I to talk with two people basically yelling. Not the hostesses fault. Also came for my birthday back in October! Arrived at the restaurant without reservations and asked if my wife and 2yo son would be able to get outdoor seating. The host asked if we wanted to sit on the patio or covered porch, and I requested porch because we were concerned it would be too hot for our 2yo son on the patio. As soon as they started to take us to the porch another woman said no, I'll sit you on the patio. After spending an uncomfortable 30 mins in the sun and watching the waiters seat other groups in the shade I asked our waiter (who was super pleasant) if we could move to an open table in the shade but still on the patio area (there were many open). He said it shouldn't be a problem and we started to move all our stuff to the cooler table. As we are moving the woman who sat us came out loudly saying "no no you can't sit there. That side of the patio is closed." She was incredibly rude, and even if those tables were not able to be used for whatever reason, she could have come over and apologized and nicely found a different place for us to sit. My poor son was saying "no, too hot." We quickly ate our food, which was quite good, asked for the check and left. I'm not sure if this woman was the manager or not but she definitely did not treat us nicely at all, and despite our waiter and the food being great, we won't be back. read more

Have been here twice and left early both times. Wait staff was overwhelmed with half full restaurant on a Friday. Seemed more attention was given to door dash orders then customers in restaurant. Absolutely loved this gem in Lambertville, NJ. The ambiance is casual, chic and fun . The food was amazing. My husband had the pork chop , which was stuffed with fig, goat cheese , prosciutto. Celebrated my daughter's 30th birthday with a fabulous brunch at Under the Moon. Shannon was amazing for the entire process. She positioned us at long table with a thoughtful break in the middle for easy accessibility. The restaurant was decorated for Halloween and the food was amazing. We were a group of 15 people and the ordering along with presentation and delivery of meals was spot on!!! My family enjoyed the brunch and will definitely be back for another delicious meal soon. First time dining at the new location. The service was, usual terrific! And the food was awesome. 4 for dinner on a Saturday. first finding on the porch then we asked to eat inside. The staff was amazingly accommodating. 4 of us had 12 small plates. Our waitress even recommended a slightly different order to save a little $. It's a BYOB, so we brought a pre dinner cocktail, whiskey sours, then our own Rioja to add to their Sangria. The amount of food we were given for the $160 check we received, was absurd. The pork was undercooked. The menu offered a dessert as a part of the "four course meal." The dessert was a strawberry. The waitress was pleasant and helpful but we noticed she was also rushing other tables through. I would not come back here on Valentine's Day or any other day of the year. My friend ordered the Aji tuna entrée which was fantastic, really flavorful and huge! I got a selection of tapas including polenta fries, the pork belly which was so delicious, and the garlic shrimp. The sandwich was very salty and the roast beef was rubbery. . it wasn't enjoyable and was more like a bar sandwich than a $16 sandwich from what appeared to be a nice restaurant. We were 2 couples who had been many times to the prior restaurant at the same location. I believe the owner retired. It's in a great location with a covered patio & the new owner added uncovered additional outdoor seating. We were there on a beautiful late June evening. The menu now has a slight Spanish influence. We had the 4 appetizer flight which was very good. Main courses also excellent. Service friendly & helpful. Love the BYO feature. Very nice place with friendly staff. The cuisine is a mixed of Argentine and Latin since they have tapas, plantains and other Latin dishes. Had the ropa vieja and it was salty and the beans were undercooked. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico so rice and beans it's my theme. Will go back to try more tapas and some desserts. read more

Went here for a date night with my husband and was so looking forward to it after doing restaurant research. First the strong points -- the service was excellent. We had a really friendly, knowledgable server, and I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. Welcoming, eclectic, warm. We started with the wedge salad and we both agreed it was delicious - the blue cheese flavor was delicate and we loved it. Food got more dicey from there. I ordered the top flight of tapas - the ideas sounded so appealing but the execution was just off. Short rib is supposed to melt in your mouth and mine was the texture of shoe-leather brisket. The blue cheese mashed potatoes that came with it were yummy, though. The ropa vieja, ordered by my husband too as his entree, was seriously too heavy-handed with the salt. The manchego with lavender-infused honey was too cloying and medicinally sweet. Patatas bravas were on point - crispy and delicious. Perhaps I should have gone with the lowest-priced, most simple tapas. In short, the food was creative and fun but nowhere near as well-prepared as Amada in Philly or Jaleo in DC. One of our family members has a severe peanut allergy and the Chef, Brandon came out and spoke to us ahead of time and reassured us how he would handle the dinner and what to stay away from.
