Under the Pier took me a little by surprise. I was told to come here for great seafood, specifically the oysters. I wasn't sure sure what to expect from the exterior but the recommendation was spot on. First tip, bring cash! CASH ONLY! The oysters are huge. No grit. The homemade cocktail sauce is so good. I really liked the fried clams and fried shrimp, I would ask for everything extra crispy. The clams could have had a few extra minutes in the fryer. My friend said the Bloody Mary wasn't the best but at $6.50 it was quite the deal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a very casual spot. If you are looking for fancy this isn't for you. What you will find is paper plates and baskets filled with delicious economically priced seafood.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Maybe at some point there was a pier that they were under but it, along with any nearby water, has long disappeared! Its location is on Route 13 in Levittown and the closest water must be a few miles away, but I digress... [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're looking for an old fashioned down the shore feeling seafood restaurant, this is it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (When was the last time you had Oyster Crackers?) The menu is fairly large and we both were in the mood for some fried platters. Both were very large, inexpensive and very good. The Fried Shrimp Plate had 6 large butterflied shrimp with a tasty fried coating along with "sea chips" (fried round cuts of potatoes) and slaw. The Shore Dinner had an assortment of fried flounder, crab cake, clam cake, fried oyster fried shrimp along with the sea chips and slaw. I don't think they take reservations and there was a short wait on a Friday night for a table. They do have cocktails as well as beer ( some on tap) Cash only. Date night location - no. Fun experience - yes.

Food was pretty good. I usually have enough for 2 meals. My pink squirrel was delicious! Service -- meh. Ambiance- I wouldn't take my date there... it's sort of dumpy.

I would select negative rating if possible. Ate oyster stew and fried oysters and was sick for the next three days.

The sauce was amazing! I love fried mushrooms and not too many restaurants still have them so they were a perfect side for me, the mashed potatoes were good just needed to be added to the butter garlic for an amazing taste. Definitely a must go to restaurant. Seating was kind of tight being directly at the door but all in all an amazing experience

People love this place ... I say that because we were there late afternoon during the week and it was busy ... and it kept getting busier. I do understand why folks love it tho, because there's no other real seafood "shack" in the area specifically where folks can get their blue claw crabs. It truly does look and feel like a seafood shack because the wooden walls, brown paper on the table, paper towels on the table and overall decor scream "We are at the beach in a small southern town in the middle of nowhere where" lol Our server was great! She was very attentive and made recommendations... she was also very patient with us given that this was our first time here and we're a bit undecided on what we wanted to order. Now on to the food - this is honestly where I was underwhelmed. The broiled seafood had a whisper of flavor, the crab cake left a lot to be desired and the garlic buffalo shrimp were overwhelmingly buffalo sauce on top of fried shrimp. Now the clam chowder I had was amazing and I even ordered some to go. My friend enjoyed her crab legs meal overall and perhaps if we visit again that's the route I'll go. Oh and it's also a BYOB , so, be sure to grab your favorite bottle and bring it on in.

Five Four Bar & Grill has a large U shaped bar, stage for live bands, pool tables, booth seating,…read moretable seating and an area to have a catered event in a private room. They can hold 20-500 people for private events according to their website. The inside is dark and could use a bit of a refresh, but I wouldn't say it's close to the level of dive. It's certainly on the larger side compared to most bars in the area. The staff has always been nice, but service can get slow when the crowd size grows. Just the nature of things. Food wise the menu has a typical mix of pub grub - apps, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and several entrees. A friend was eating their jumbo Buffalo Shrimp off the starter menu and raved about them. I stuck to a Cheesesteak which was average but a deal at $9.50 -- the chopped steak was decent, cheese was good just needed a bit more. Hot peppers gave it some kick and the long roll was fresh. Their beer menu has around a dozen beers on tap. They dabble in more mainstream big beer/craft beer like your Goose Island IPA's/Lagunitas IPA, but do have a decent show of locals like Yards, Victory, Troegs and Weyerbacher. Bourbon wise I had a Knob Creek neat which was average price wise. The pour was on the generous side. Each time I've been here the crowds have been friendly and having a good time. The band we listened to was great and the sound was crisp. Five Four is a family friendly grill during the day and a fun place for adults later at night. Thanks guys!

A couple weeks ago she had the nerve to comment on my face in front of the entire table. She claimed that I "always give her dirty looks" and "always look so angry when I'm here". I was stunned and so embarrassed. For one, I don't know her personally, we have never had a conversation outside of her taking my order and quite frankly it's none of her business how my face looks anyway. Second of all how embarrassing is it to be called out in front of a bunch of people like that? I couldn't believe the words that came out of her mouth. Before I left I politely told her I didn't appreciate her calling me out like that and she got very defensive. Not an apology from her, she didn't care one bit. She started arguing with me and acting like I was overreacting and like she didn't do anything wrong. She should take a look at herself in the mirror and think twice before she speaks. I'll never step foot into this bar again.
