Seen the vehicle we wished to purchase sitting by the door and other people were getting out of it. Around five mins later GM called to say I would need additional money down to buy. First and foremost I will say that some of the employees are polite. That is about the only positive review I can give of this dealership. As for the rest, not so much. My husband, who is a disabled veteran, was looking to trade in our 2020 Passat that has roughly 6500 miles on it as it is getting harder for him to get in with his disability. I inquired on a Friday about a 2021 Sorento S that was on their website. Ms. Sherrill (a very nice lady) called me to set up an appointment. I told her about a previously awful experience we had the day prior and she assured me we would be taken care of as we live well over an hour away. She told me no problem and that her brother-in-law Larry would be told of the situation and scheduled us for 3 pm on Saturday. Saturday comes and we ask if there is any way we can do the paperwork over the phone to delay having to sit at the dealership for hours upon hours making it hard do to my husbands chronic pain. Fine, no biggie. However, we are then informed that the vehicle is not even at the lot, but is being lent out as a loaner and would be back on Monday. So, I rush around Saturday trying to get my car serviced and ready to go, fill out our credit application, take pictures, EVERYTHING to make sure I am good to go on my end. Fast forward again to Monday (today) and I reach out to them to inquire about what was going on. All morning into the afternoon I am being led around only to be told at 3:15pm that the car cannot be sold until the 22nd of May due to it still being lent out. So, not only have I wasted my time gathering information for them, here I am trying to buy a car that now has who knows how many miles on it before I can even purchase it. Larry then tries to tell me that a new car is still considered new if it has under 10,000 miles on it.......?????? So you're telling me that I am trading in a car with less than 6500 miles on it for a car that could possibly have the same if not more and you are going to tell me it is new all bc the "title" has not been processed. Um,.....how about no. I have seen cars on dealer websites that only have 1,000 miles on them and guess where they are listed......under the used car section. Mind you I am polite this entire time, even though after being told multiple times we would be taken care of and not led astray like the previous dealership. Look, if you cannot help us then just tell us you cannot help us. No sweat off our back. I get it you gotta do what is best for your business. I hear ya. However, do not drag a potential customer through an entire weekend with hopes of getting a car, then come the day you said it would be on the lot ask for more and more information knowing the car isn't even there to then tell me that you cannot even sell it until the 22nd of May. Poor customer service. I hope the next customer looking at a vehicle with you all has a better experience than you have given us. read more

I recently purchased a Kia Soul EV from Union County Kia and found the process both exhilarating and exasperating. Kia Soul EVs are not sold in Florida where I live so the whole transaction was conducted online and over the phone. After shopping around and making a few offers, Union County came through with the best price for a 2016 shipped to my door, tax tag and title. Unfortunately, where sales was on point, the finance department continually dropped the ball and needed frequent phone calls and emails to complete the paperwork. On more than one occasion I was told documents were over nighted when they were not, causing unnecessary delays. They arranged shipping and delivered the vehicle as promised except they neglected to attach the temporary tag, and I had to wait a couple of days for an overnight delivery of the paper tag. As I am writing this review almost two months after purchasing the vehicle, I still do not have my permanent tag. I have heard a slew of excuses from it takes up to 45 days,(the temporary tag only last 30 days) to the paperwork was lost. This experience tells me they are not equipped to handle out of state transactions. They talk a good game on the phone, but follow through is abysmal. I am in love with my new ride, it is just what I wanted. There is a free Uvo account feature that can be useful for remote charging and other functions. I went to a local dealership to reset the account but they could not help there. I was able to reset it by calling customer service over a lengthy call, but they were very courteous and we got it done. In summary, great car, quick and easy sale but terrible follow through from the finance department. read more

I saw a used car at Union County Kia, NC, that I was interested in. It was listed both on the dealer website and on Autotrader.com. I contacted the dealership via text, identified the vehicle I was interested in, I was answered by both text and a phone call. I made an appointment to view it the following day. When I arrived the next day as scheduled, The salesperson went to look for the keys, but came back and said he couldn't find them. We walked around the lot and finally found the car. He then went to the service dept to see if they had the keys, while I went to look at the car. The first thing I saw was a decal on the windshield that said "THIS VEHICLE NOT FOR SALE". He returned and said something may be mechanically wrong with the car and that they were not going to sell it, but instead take it to the auction. After I left I checked the dealer website and it was still listed for sale. It is a two hour round trip for me to go to that dealership and back, which is why I verified the car by phone before I drove up there. The inept sales person had done nothing in anticipation of our scheduled appointment, and wasted two hours of my time and gas. read more

sales ae,nd finance are great. that where it ends. new car sold with no inspection had to drive 4 hours back to dealership to resolve THEIR mistake. pick up tags go to get free oil change told will have to wait 2 hours cannot be give an appt time to return that day .Moving out of state today told more or less not their problem. My driving 4 hours for their screw up meant nothing to them.. I enquired about a used car through their website, asked about what the Price would be including all fees, informed internet manager about the coupon I received for $500 off ANY used car purchase. I was told coupon wouldn't apply and the out the door price was over $1000 more than advertised price. I informed the "manager" in chat that the fair market value of the vehicle was $2000 less than the "out the door" price and that I was looking at another car that had more features and was almost $1000 cheaper. I was told good luck buy that car, no counter offer, no let me have one of my salespeople contact you tomorrow, no lets try to work something out. nothing, just Good Luck see ya. I have money to spend but not going to be spending it here. I understand in this age of technology and information readily available the Consumer has the advantage over a dealership. I don't believe that the spirit of sales should be lost because of this. If someone wants to sell something they should be more willing to at least idk TRY to sell something instead of "oh good luck buy that other car" This is a Buyers market due to the situation in the world we all need to be willing to give and take and if I wanted to deal with a Car Dealership that refused to even work with me on a car, I'd just buy something from CarMax. read more

Brought my car in for a rough idle and was told my car needed a pricey belt repair and a file system cleaning to correct the issue. The car was a year of age, and I was told this repair was not under warranty. I paid for the diagnostic, but didn't feel comfortable getting the work done, based on the explanation. I did later purchase the belt from Advance and take my car to another garage- the existing belt had no damage or wear to it. read more

Buyers beware. Called and talked with the sales manager Dean 3x and someone who claimed to be Dean 2x. I say claimed to be him because he said I never told him things I told him for sure regarding the price I needed as well as my finances. He quoted me a price for a specific vehicle. So I drive down there, a 3 hour trip mind you. Which I also told Dean about. Got there and what do you know...Oh sorry, now you can't have the car at the price I told you. To bad. Don't like it, don't gotta buy from us he says. Oh but if you like you can look at this other car that's not close to the one I priced you. And that's right it's the same price as what he quoted on the other. Rude call in the am should have been a warning. Dean was rude and talked over me the whole call then got snippy when I called him on it. I though I'll let it go if the deal was ok. WE'LL IT WASN'T. Don't waste your time and money with these liars. I had been looking at New cars for a couple of weeks went to a Competitor of there's and after a week of waiting was still trying to get an approval during this time My salesman Don Flint kept contacting me to come in and see him. I kept stalling out of pure frustration I finally explained to Don my situation and told him I didn't want to waste his time. He convinced me to give him a try. I sent my application online within the hour he called me back and had a approval. We went in that night looked at van signed all paper work and drove away. I'm not sure why Union County Kia has gotten so many negative reviews. I purchased a Kia Sorento in 2012 and have had nothing but good service. I take my car here for all of the basic servicing and they keep track of it for me. The new facility is really nice and everyone is friendly! I would recommend them. The only thing is you need to make an appointment to get work done on your vehicle but they offer a courtesy vehicle if it's going to take longer than a couple of hours! read more

I will never buy anything under the management that is there now. The salesman who assisted us refused to show me the model car that I had come to see. He insisted that I didn't want that car but a bigger, higher priced one would suit me better. He didn't not listen to my wants or budget and we were told the cars advertised online were prices only for the military or college students. Very misleading. read more

I purchased a used Kia Sorento on 7/3/17 from Union County Kia. I saw the car online, contacted the dealership and confirmed it was still available. I drove to Monroe from Boone. I had talked with sales associate Doug Benson on the phone and met him on the lot. I had a very positive sale experience. Doug patiently answered my questions. When he wasn't sure of an answer, he didn't "come up" with something--he actually looked the answer up and he showed me where he was getting the information. He never put any pressure on me about buying that car or any car. He is very courteous and has a good sense of humor. He (and Union) provided several different options that I could consider for financing the car if I wanted to finance with them. (Diego in the finance office--also great!) Doug, Diego, and several of the other team members actually stayed more than an hour after the store closed to help wrap up my sale so I could drive the car away then. I really couldn't have had a better car-buying experience--unless they would have just given me the car! I hope I will continue to have a positive relationship with the dealership. My Honda CR-V was totaled on 12/1/16, so I was unexpectedly in the market for a used car. I have previously owned 5 Volvos and 3 Hondas, but approached the task with an open mind. I did research on the web - maintenance agreements, maintenance costs, safety and overall recommendations from unbiased industry analysts were all factored in. I was working through the USAA Car Buying Service and kept coming back to Kia again and again. I narrowed my choice to 3 Sportages at 3 different dealerships. One dealership called me 2 days after I expressed interest and a representative called me 5 times, only leaving her first name, never mentioning who she worked for and asking for a return call. I had no idea who she was, so never returned her calls. On the 5th call, she finally identified her employer (a dealership). By that time I had already purchased a Kia from Union Co. Kia. The other dealership was 40 minutes from my home, so I talked with a salesman from the dealership twice to confirm the specific auto I was looking at had the desired features. Once I got to the dealership, they had difficulty finding the car, finally found it, only to see it did not have a panoramic sunroof (as requested). They did their best to find another car (I drove 6 vehicles all total), but all had high mileage or lacked the features I desired. I then set out for the 2 hour drive to Union Co. Kia, arriving an hour and 15 minutes before closing. I had earlier received an immediate response from my "interest request", both via email and by phone from Cristeen. I spoke with Cristeen a second time and she sent me a video of the interior of the car. Cristeen was not there when I arrived, but Jerrold Lawson quickly took care of me. He found the car I was interested in in a flash and we were on our way. He took time to show me many of the features of the car and we started the buying process. I had been pre-approved by USAA and Bank of America, but Jerrold assured me they could beat those interest rates...and that they did. I met and talked with the General Manager, Steven Miller, who could not have been more gracious...despite the fact the dealership was about to close. Jerrold got all my paperwork done quickly (verifying insurance, loan application, etc.) and took me to Eric Perryman, Finance Manager, to sign a multitude of documents. Again, I was assured everything was fine in that we were well past closing time. The icing on the cake was their offer to vacuum out my rental vehicle, fill it up with gas, call Enterprise the following day and return it for me....all so I would not have to drive back (a 2-hour drive from my home) the following Saturday to pick up my car. At 10 pm, I drove out with my new-to-me 2013 Kia Sportage! I hate buying cars, but this was, hands down, the best and most positive experience I have ever had. The buying experience was exceptional from the time we were met at the door until we drove off of the lot in a new 2016 Optima. Shawn Tate carried us through the buying experience, and Eric Perryman carried us through the financing. We walked in convinced we were going to buy a certified used car with low mileage. Shawn told us he had a better deal with a new car. At first I could not believe this could even happen. In ten minutes, Shawn had worked the deal and gave us a choice of three new cars. We signed the paperwork, made the down payment, and were handed the keys. The service did not end there. Shawn took the time to walk us through every feature, programmed our radio stations, and connected our phones to Bluetooth.
