Just moved to the area and decided to try out this salon for my Pop Art halloween nails to go with my costume. I was very impressed with the talent and the service. Everyone was really nice, even though I stayed much later than closing. She even added little eyes on my toes free of charge. I didn't have cash for tip but they were really understanding about that and just told me not to worry about it. I will definitely be coming back AND I will be tipping double. Great, friendly shop with attentive staff that do quality nails! Parking is free - they have a lot surrounding the building. However, they share parking with the other businesses in the small complex, so it can fill up fast on a weekend. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. You want to make sure they can dedicate the time to do quality work on the services you want. They do take walk-ins but they can ask you to come back later if they're assisting customers that actually booked an appointment in advance (which is completely fair). The service here is pretty standard so I gave it a few tries. However, the woman who did my acrylic fills was always distracted and looking up while working on my nails. She scraped my cuticles every time. I told her about it and she continued to hurt my cuticles so I told her it was the last time I would return. She didn't attempt to apologize, just said OK. I was very new to having someone else do my nails when I first went to Unique Nails​. I'd NEVER had a pedicure. But now after the last 2 years of being cared for, I wouldn't give it up. I was really surprised how after just 1 or 2 visits, they knew my name, knew what I wanted done and even knew me by my phone voice! Tina is my preferred manicurist. She's very sweet, very careful and yet doesn't dawdle. She knows I don't like a massage (I think I'm the only one) and exactly how I like my French nails to look. She does such a great job that my gel manicure looks great for nearly 3 weeks! This was my first time at this nail spa and I gotta say, for the price they charge for a full set of regular acrylics, $20, I'm pretty satisfied. I went in the morning and it was clean and didn't have that super strong acrylic smell that I dislike. Yes, a couple of my nails were a tad lopsided, but for 20 bucks Im not complaining. After having gel manis for so long I felt like my nails were getting weak. My friend recommended this place for the dipping powder manicure which is supposed to last longer than regular polish. I don't know if the technician I had was new (she didn't seem new, but was in a rush) or what the deal was, but this was probably the worst manicure I've ever had. They use the same drill on your nails that they use when you get acrylics, and she did it so low to the nail bed that she filed off my skin in several spots. I pulled my hand away and said ouch and she said sorry and kept going. If you look at my pictures, you can see not only did she get polish all over my fingers but she didn't get polish over parts of my nails. WTH? The finish is not smooth (again see pictures) - looks like I dragged my fingers on the beach after painting them. SO. BAD. Not only will I never go back, I recommend you NEVER GO. How could they let someone leave the salon like that?? read more

I was driving in the area when I saw this place. I looked at my hands and feet and realized it was time for a mani & pedi...STAT! So I pulled into the parking lot... but before I got out, I actually went to the Yelp app on my phone and looked this place up to see what the reviews said about it. All of the reviews seemed decent so I figured I'd try the place out. It's a nice quiet place and to my luck I was the only customer in there at the time so I didn't have to wait at all. I told them I wanted a mani & pedi ($25), and they got the water running. Previous to this manicure, I had a Pink & White acrylic and recently removed it so my nails needed to be sanded to remove any access acrylic, but the manicurist didn't do that... She just cut and filed my nails down. After she applied the polish she left access polish on my finger tips and skin so I eventually asked the pedicurist to remove it with polish remover. My pedicure was done okay... other than the fact that the pedicurist chipped the corner tip of my nail on my big toe when she was filing and had to glue it back on. =o/ I did however enjoy the leg and foot massage and she did a good job with applying the polish and making it look nice. The place is clean and quiet which is exactly what I needed after a long day of work. I think overall the prices are good but the quality of work is just average. read more

I love all the girls at Unique Nails. I started going there about three years ago out of covenience cause it's right next to work, but they do a great job every time. I usually just get a pedicure but have gotten a few manicures and my co-worker also gets her eyebrows done there. The spa-pedicure is $17, but it lasts a really long time (about a month in my case). Not 100% sure how much the manicure is, but I think about $8 or $9 if you just do a regular one (no spa). They take all major credit cards, but recently started charging a fee (so bring cash if you want to save some $). I've tried all kinds of places in the South Bay, but Unique Nails is fairly affordable and I've always gotten great service there. Oh, one more thing. Weekends are pretty busy, so it's better to come during the week. They are closed on Mondays. read more

Based upon previous reviews I know than some folks haven't had a great experience but so far I've been satisfied with the services and treatment I've received. This evening I had an appointment for a gel pedi and just a gel polish for my hands. Jenni performed the pedi, she followed instructions, took her time, and was very sweet. Lindsay painted my nails (hands) and did a nice job as well. I paid $38 with the 10% Monday discount and that's quite a deal compared with other places. I like that I'm not asked and pressured to purchase pedi extras or get a funny look because I only want my nails polished without a mani. I like Kelly and have not had any issues with her or Tina. I've been searching for a new nail salon and was hoping to love Unique Nails. From the reviews I was expecting to however from my experience I won't be returning. I visited on a weekday evening around 5:30. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted. The salon was not packed so I was sat as soon as I picked my color. A lady told me where to sit, ran my water than went on with her business, buffing her nails. As I sat there, I had no problem at all waiting. I figured I was waiting for another technician to finish on another customer. My issue was, I sat waiting and the person that gave me my pedicure was the original lady that greeted me, the lady who after running my water went and attended to her own nails while I sat... I thought about giving them another try however it's been a week since my pedicure and I already need another. Good prices though! read more

I have been going here for years and recently moved further out of the neighborhood so decided to try a couple of new spots closer to home. Everywhere I tried was overpriced and one place destroyed my eyebrows to the point of my crying and another place caused a slight fungus. I came back to Unique Nails with renewed appreciation. My nails and toes are adorable and Helen and Angie do great at waxing. I can come here relaxed because they do good business but it is not overcrowded. It is still best to make an appointment but you don't have to. The prices agree with my teacher salary which makes me a happy camper. Pros: Great deal on a mani/pedi. They do good work with a low key/quiet/relaxing experience. Ladies have a decent command of English for the most part. I also like how small it is, much preferable to loud noisy and out-in-the-open mall places. Cons: They want you to tip in cash (to avoid taxes probably) and the chairs are horribly uncomfortable without a pillow that they provide if you ask. They are massage chairs with uncomfortable plastic massaging parts that hurt whether the chair is on or off, so ask for a pillow! read more
