Samsung sent Unique Repair Services to fix a heating issue with my microwave and somehow the service man managed to break my door, which was never the issue in the first place. This has been on going since September and my door is still not fixed. Unique repair services has come to my home a total of 4 times already, and every time they manage to break something new and CHARGE me every single time. They are literally creating issues to charge more money for services that are not needed. How did my heating problem turn into a door problem and then a latch problem? Just had Todd from Unique Repair come out. He was on time, pleasant, followed Covid guidelines. He diagnosed the problem which we already knew about from 3 previous repairs by other companies. ( there is a design flaw in our fridge). He fixed the problem, explained why the other fixes did not work. He had all the parts needed on the truck! Scheduled an appointment with Unique Repair Services in one week to repair my Samsung washing machine. They automatically charge you $109 before they even come out. Six days before the service call we decided to not seek a repair on the washer, but instead buy a new one. I called to cancel the service appointment scheduled. Unique Repair Serviced will only refund $94, keeping $15 for a "cancellation fee", and it will take 3-5 days to receive my credit. Seriously!!? Even your doctor doesn't charge a cancel fee unless it's within 24 hours of appointment. No wonder they only have 2 stars! I will call someone else next time! read more

The worst customer service ever. I had a dishwasher go out and called Samsung. They said this place could fix it. So they put me through and I had to pay $109 to even schedule the call. Which was no big deal because they put it towards whatever they use for parts. About 4 days later two younger technicians come out and they couldn't get the unit out. Now there is a tiny drop from the tile to floor so you do have to push up to pull it out. They couldn't get it out. My 2 older sons were watching and they had to walk outside to call a supervisor and they were told not to do anything with it bc they didn't want to damage the floor. Well why didn't they look and open the dishwasher door to see they had two screws to take out in order to even pull the unit out? The one technician told me that if I get the unit out call them back and they would be able to work on it and if it's the motor let him know and they'll bring the part when they come back. Ok so I said what if I don't need the service and he said just call the office and they'll give you a refund. So I asked for a card and they got one from the truck. Not even personalized with their name. No paperwork that stated they were there , nothing. So a few days later my husband came home (being out of town for work) took the unit out (since he installed it) and took it out on the deck. Put it through some cycles and it worked fine. I guess it had a small drop that caused the code to come on and not work properly. But it has been fine ever since. So I call the office the next day and left a message it stated someone would call back within 48 hours. No call back. I waited a few days and called back and went to vm again during business hours. I called back the next day and had to act like I was making another appointment to get a person on the phone. Long story short if they come back they put my money towards the service. I told her I don't need them and would like my money back and that the technician told me they would refund. She said they don't refund. I said why would he tell me that? She said I don't know I'll call him. Then he tells her he didn't tell me that! Ok well I wouldn't be calling back if I just lost my money and he didn't tell me to call. I have a background in hvac/plumbing so I know how the system works. I told her even a truck charge isn't $109 and gas isn't that much. She was not helpful or even trying to be. They do repair for Samsung and Costco. Horrible technicians who don't seem to have more than remedial training. They seem to want to default to either they can't find the problem or if you provide video of the issue, as proof as I did with a Samsung dishwasher, they roll over and blame install vs addressing the product issue so they wash their hands of it. They tried charging me $109 for a service call dispatched by Costco within 100 days of purchase for an appliance with a 2 year parts and labor warranty. Personally find them to be fraudulent crooks. Please do not use this appliance repair service. I called them to repair a Samsung electric dryer that I have owned for 10 years. It is painted metallic red and i have kept it looking brand new except for 1 small scratch on the top from an old girlfriend. The technician Nick laid across the top of the dryer with his zippered sweat shirt and you can see the zipper marks scratched into the painted surface. There are also several other scratches on the top from his electrical screw gun. Nick also put several scratches in the front of the dryer that were never there. Be sure to not let him fill out the customer questioner for you. Check all appliances before he leaves, if you don't that is their weasel clause to refuse to fix it. I was able to pay for a repair that I didn't need and pay for the damage to my appliance. read more

I Scheduled the appointment with Unique Repair service to come take a look at my dryer. I was told to pay $109 to diagnose the issue i had with my dryer. I told them on the phone that the issue was with the motor because the dryer won't spin. The guy came and said he has the motor but he doesn't have all the parts necessary to install the motor so he'd have to come back again. He told me it would cost $169 for him to come put the motor in which i wasn't told about. When i initially called them they said i would be charged only once and not charged for any labor again if any parts were needed and the initial $109 will be adjusted towards the labor cost. As I am reading these reviews, they look very similar to mine and it is very sad that businesses like this are allowed to rip people off again and again. Here is my story: On 08/2/2020 I had Unique Repair come to my home to do a repair on a samsung dishwasher. Nate C. was our service tech. I had already paid $109.00 prior to anyone even coming to my home to repair anything. Mistake #1 on my part. The tech came in, looked at the dishwasher for 3 minutes, said he hated repairing these samsung dishwashers because you need to pull them out and turn them and this can damage cabinets, as well as you have to turn off the electricity. After 5 seconds of looking inside the actual dishwasher, he diagnosed the problem as a drain since there was water on the bottom of the dishwasher. I suggested the water was there because it kept stopping mid cycle and not the drain at all. He did NOT try to run the dishwasher at any time. If he did, he would have heard the drain working perfectly well. The tech left and said he would return with the part he needed. 08/07/2020: Nate C returned to our home with the pump. My husband was also home on this occasion so there were two witnesses. My husband watched him struggle with the dishwasher and pump and after a couple minutes he said that the pump clip came broken in the box (ummm no, you broke it trying to install it) and he would have to order another one and he would come back with a new pump. 08/14/2020: Nate came to our home for the THIRD time. New part in hand, installed in 8 minutes and promptly left. He did start the dishwasher this time but did not stay long enough for it to complete a cycle and yes of course the minute he left, the dishwasher stopped mid-cycle as it had previously. We immediately called Nate C. to report this and asked him to come back and see what was happening. He said "Ok, it is probably the mother board anyway." "It is under warranty so I will get you a discount." 08/17/2020: I have not heard from the company of service tech so I call them and ask to speak to someone in management and leave a VM for them to call back. 08/19/2020: Denise calls back and I explain the situation. She is basically rude and sounds annoyed by my call. I ask to speak to HER boss. She told me no one is allowed to speak to the supervisors and the best she could do is 10% off of the part but they would charge full price to come out again. At this point I am cutting my losses (almost $400.00). After discussing this with an attorney family member I contact my bank to request a refund for the second visit since it was never repaired. We decided to not dispute the initial visit charge since they did come out and we felt it was fair to pay them this, although honestly, I am not sure why since it was never repaired. We felt bad for the tech and mainly did not want to get him in any trouble, however, now it was getting ridiculous. The bank investigates and decides in our favor and refunds the second visit and part. Fast forward two months and a Dan Murphy calls me from a collection agency and basically ensuites that he will be collecting the money and that banks ALWAYS side with their customer (this is absolutely not true). He asks that I send him an email with all of the dates and details (I kept a very good record of every single contact with this company). I plan on contacting the Better Business Bureau as well as the Federal Trade Commission for starters. I want to prevent this from happening to other people. The money they charge is exorbitant and they should not be allowed to take people's money without completing the agreed upon service. If I could give a zero star rating, I would. Unique Repair Services was contracted out to me via a Samsung Warranty on my fridge, as the ice maker was not working. Technician showed up on time, and I let him get started. I came into the kitchen about 30 minutes later to see water pouring out of the bottom of my fridge and all over my hardwood floors. I grabbed towels and tried to keep the water from traveling to any other rooms, I have hardwood floors throughout the main floor. The technician was frantically calling his manager and the manager asked him if he had turned off the water valve prior to replacing the ice maker. I ran to basement to turn off the water valve, and noticed water pouring into the basement through the ceiling. I finally got all of the water soaked up, about 10 beach towels worth, to the technician telling me that the "water filter case assembly" was broken and needed to be replaced, but that Samsung would not replace this. The technician left me with an unfixed ice maker, newly broken water dispenser that previously worked, soaked and possibly warped wood floors, and a flooded basement. Unreal. They came over and took my refrigerator apart for repair, telling me they would be back in 1 week with parts. 2 weeks go by and they come to install the parts, but change the story telling me they can not since its no longer under warranty, then they changed the story telling me they can not fix another technicians problems with this unit, since someone from a different tech team fixed the air handler kit. They left my house and the refrigerator is still in pieces, screws still in the icetray from the 1st tech. Not sure what their deal is but I would not recommend them not even to my enemy. Called before he came to make sure we are ready for him and was here at the beginning of his window! He was professional, polite, very nice and helpful! He fixed the machine quickly, ran an entire cycle to make sure it worked before he left and the machine is running better now than it has for over a year! I find it hard to believe that manufacturers contract with this business. This company was contracted by Samsung to fix my ice maker on my newly purchased Samsung refrigerator. Samsung contacted them and they made the appointment with me. Then was contacted the day before (late in the afternoon) for more information (serial number, proof of purchase etc). I supplied them with the same information I had supplied Samsung in order to get the warranty service. They obviously received this information as my model & serial number was on the service ticket along with the the fact it was warranty service. The tech replaced my ice maker and was on his way. Later that day he called all frazzled that he needed to see a copy of my receipt. Really? How many people need to see this receipt? I sent it to his cell phone. Next phone call from him stated he needed to come back to my home to look at the original receipts. SERIOUSLY???? Fine, I waited. He showed up and looked at my receipts and stated they were not adequate for them to get reimbursed from Samsung. Hello??? They have same information and sent you here to do WARRANTY REPAIR. If there is problem, call them before you even get here. The next thing is unbelievable. The tech UN-INSTALLED the new ice maker and took it with him. To top it off, they sent ME and invoice for their time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and Samsung. 11-27-2020 review of repair done by UNIQUE REPAIR SERVICES, DesPlaines, IL. SAMSUNG fridg purchased 11-19-2019 but not delivered until 12-05-2019 from Best Buy, Schaumburg, along with (3) other SAMSUNG kitchen appliances one of which (dishwasher) required (4) deliveries from Best Buy. Obviously, this reduced MY "warranty period" by 16 days. SAMSUNG scheduled "UNIQUE REPAIR" to come out on June 24, 2020 the 1st time my fridg FREEZER DOOR HANDLE fell off. Their service tech overly tightened it (unbeknownst to me at that time) causing a deep indentation in the SSteel door underneath the left side of the freezer door handle itself. This was brought to my attention on November 16, 2020 when the freezer door handle fell OFF again. SAMSUNG delayed processing the purchase receipts provided them via email and fax on November 16, 2020 as requested or calling me back as promised within the 24-48 hour period. I called them again on November 20, 2020 whereby they recommended having the "same" repair service company assess the situation since they were already aware of the previous tech service visit of JUNE 24, 2020. However, on November 27, 2020, UNIQUE's tech did not document that previous visit at all that caused the indentation and scratches in the SS freezer door and failed to provide the relative info to SAMSUNG's Tech Support when he called them to see if they would replace the freezer door which fell off WITHIN the warranty period which was reported to SAMSUNG on November 16. As a result, the UNIQUE REPAIR tech "adjusted screw point reset handle" per his notes to re-attach the freezer door handle that fell completely off and said SAMSUNG Tech declined to approve "new door" since they only cover "cosmetic" issues within the first 3 months. However, this is not a "cosmetic issue". It was a "damage" issue caused only by a UNIQUE REPAIR tech on service visit of June 24, 2020. SAMSUNG contracts with UNIQUE. I would not recommend anyone using UNIQUE REPAIR SERVICES for their appliances and their Customer Service Manager, Denise Aguilar, failed to return my phone call of 10:30 a.m., November 27, 2020. Unfortunately, this was the worst service we have ever received. They didn't show up first day when we took day off work, and didn't let us know no one was coming until after time window expired, so we waited around. The next day, when they said they would come at a specific time, they showed up an hour early and called multiple times to get us to come home. But worst of all, they pulled a bait and switch. After they showed up to do the work, they told us it would cost $100 more than they quoted us. There was nothing new in the service. I have an Frigidaire/Electrolux Warranty. It has been over a month since I requested a repair of the broiler on my wall oven. The first repairman stated that Frigidaire provided the wrong information and he arrived with an igniter for the oven rather than an igniter for the broiler. A week later another repairman came out and he could not complete the job because the wall oven was to heavy for him to remove alone. Another week went by and today they sent to repairmen, however when they opened the box that stated broiler igniter, there was a board in the box. For the most part all of the technicians have been courteous and professional except for the one sent out to help today. I contacted Unique Repair and they basically stated there was nothing they could do about it call Frigidaire. I called Frigidaire and they stated there was nothing they could do about it, that Unique Repair should make certain they are ordering the correct parts. No problem resolution from either of these companies. Just pass the buck! No customer service! Hopefully I can get my oven broiler igniter replaced soon, however I will not utilize Unique Repair in the future. read more

I brought a TV in about a week and half ago. They told me they would let me know in 2 days, I called back in 4 days and was told a cost that did't make sense. When I went to pick up the TV they indicated they may be able to repair for much less. I agreed and they fixed the TV a few days later. Overall they did a good job on the repair although I would have to question the original estimate that was much higher. I'm not sure I could recommend them slow to get back to me higher estimate then what I eventually paid. I gave them 2 stars for poor customer service and for a higher estimate which they took down after I refused to do the work, Again the TV works fine now but with all the people people at the shop something isn't right with the poor call back on the original estimate and then again on when the work was completed. I give them zero stars as i called set up an appointment and i admit they were prompt to my liking but the tech that came in to repair or diagnose my Samsung fridge as it was not cooling and temp numbers were flashing prior to the tech arrival but when he arrived the fridge was cooling off so the tech pushes and holds 2 buttons and he could not get error codes he looks in the back of the fridge saw nothing calls Samsung then says "Well i can't figure out what the issue is your fridge is working fine" and leaves i get charged $150 for a service call and nothing was done so fast forward to about a week later i call back and ask for a return for the tech he comes back and this time the fridge is not cooling and temp numbers are flashing and still this guy looks at fridge in the front opens it up then proceeds to open the back looks at things then says "Well it's gonna cost you about $800 dollars to fix this you'd be better off just buying another fridge" of course i'm looking at him like you did nothing really and this is all you come up with you supposed to be a professional and you are a Samsung certified tech you have to call up the company because you do not know what to do ? Now after all of this i'd like a refund because they did nothing and charging me to just come to my home and tell me this is an total insult esp since nothing was done the things the tech did i did with the same results. So to continue i went on youtube typed in my issue and all that was wrong was my PCB inverter board was bad a simple fix and purchase of 164.78 now mind you the tech didn't even read the error codes or seem to understand the flashing lights on the PCB board to even try and make an honest attempt to fix this i had to go and purchase the board myself and was simple unplug the fridge and the old board pop it out and pop in the new board the tech didn't even look to try and do this. seemed to me the company tried to take advantage of me 100% and the tech was just trying to upsell me on some things i most likely didn't need at this point. BE AWARE! Very unhappy and disgusted by URS business practice. My microwave broke and the part (magnetron) was covered by Samsung, but no labor. I had to go through URS as Samsung repair partner and they requested $109 upfront for diagnosing the problem, to be deducted from labor later which somehow sounded reasonable. I directly asked the customer service rep what their labor rates were so I could determine whether or not it made sense to have my microwave fixed or just buy a new one, but they refused to give me any labor rates numbers. I specifically explained why I needed those number and also their guidance so I could make the right decision. The rep was very rude and just asked for my credit card to charge $109. Without being given a choice, I took my chances and paid the upfront cost, hoping that they would have advised me if I was making the wrong decision. Well, I should have known better, they made me wait a week for an appointment, and then wanted to charge me $250 for labor plus two additional parts that I honestly doubt needed to be replaced. The total cost of the repair would have been over $500 (including the covered part by Samsung) and therefore pointless, but URS knew that in advanced. I felt misled and robbed, since I could have used that money to buy a new microwave, and they could have advised me to do that too. This company simply lacks basic decency and business ethics, and preferred to easily pocket the non-refundable up front cost. Needless to say, I will never use these people again. I was really nervous about using Unique given their reviews but they're the only game in town for servicing Samsung refrigerators. The service technician, Gerardo who works in the Wicker Park area, was superb. Absolutely on time, extremely professional, took one look and went right to it. Got my freezer fixed in almost no time. The customer service person who took the call was pleasant but left me feeling very nervous about whether I would get the time slot I needed in order to be home. Since you have to pay before they make an appointment, it's a little uncomfortable. She said that she would be providing the service department with detailed information about my issue - and interpreted that to mean freezer not freezing; ice maker issues. Which probably should have been okay except that I used these people once before for an ice maker issue which I described in detail, but still took a couple of appointments to resolve. I later learned (maybe from the tech) that the problem I described could only be due to one thing -- out of two possibilities -- and he only came prepared for the other issue even though it had totally different symptoms. Bottom line - if you need Samsung service in Wicker Park and get Gerardo you hit the jackpot. But customer service sure could use a better script and maybe even some empathy training. read more

So, I paid this company $109 to have a technician come to my home and diagnose why my dishwasher is leaking. The tech came in, poked around for 10-15 minutes and then tells me, "I don't know what the problem is." He then recommends that when the dishwasher leaks, I should pull the unit out and find out where the leak is coming from. Isn't that why I called and had someone come out in the first place? When it was still was not working properly on certain cycles Miguel the service tech came back said LG does not recommend using those cycles. On the 3rd visit back he told me the machine needed struts. The day of install he calls back and says his boss told him that my machine is too old and that I need to buy a new one. Technician was great. Pricing was absolutely terrible. Quote was $109 deposit which applies to labor plus parts. Dryer needed a new thermostat. The part cost to me was $30. Total time in and out was 15 minutes and I was charged $160 for labor and $30 for the part. No way 15 minutes should cost $160 for a total of $190 with parts. Customer service said their prices are based on national averages. Home adviser shows a range of $104 to $236, so they are on the high side for sure. They had no interest what so over in doing anything for on the service charge. This company is a fraud and was assigned the ticket from Samsung as it is on the list of Samsung repair facility; we had the technician from this company (Miguel) come over to take a look at the stove as one of the burner wasn't lighting up. Right after coming in and taking a look, he kept speaking to someone on the phone and just spent time taking picture and video. He said the spillover on the stove hadn't been cleaned which probably resulted in the burner not lighting up. So schooled us to keep the stove top clean and suggested using an air spray to take out any leftover debris that might be stalling the burner from lighting up. So far good, when I said; will do and what if it still doesn't work; he goes on to say then you ruined the stove top and it won't be covered as that's Customer abuse and he had already taken the pictures/video to share with Samsung to void the warranty. Neither this company wants to do good business nor Miguel is customer friendly; I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Worst services ever. They deserved a "-5" if I could. As Samsung authorized repair shop, some of their staff obviously have little training to know how to diagnose the issues of our Samsung dishwasher (we bought it in less than a year), even worse their staff LIED about the causes of the malfunction of our dishwasher. The first technician is polite, but what he did on site is to read the Samsung menu and call Samsung technical support line. The second technician diagnosed that the circuit board and other electrical parts were soaked wet. Both of them blamed the poor installation of Home Depot, and LIED about "our machine is physical damage due to bad installation" on the report to the Samsung. And they refused to provide us any written report unless we paid $129. And Samsung's warranty won't cover any issue of poor installation. Over $900 wasted. SHADY company. Will definitely file a complaint to the BBB. read more

If negative stars were available, that is what I would rate this "company." After being contracted by Samsung to fix our dangerously defective washing machine, they determined we need several parts replaced. After waiting over a week, they finally came back (unannounced) and said no parts were needed, only an adjustment of the back panel. A load of laundry and a house full of smoke later, we called Samsung irate. They re-contacted Unique Repair to set up another appointment to fix the washer. We were never called for the service. When we followed up, we were called "belligerent" and hung up on. Go elsewhere if you have any say in the matter. read more
