    D3 Vegetarian roast pork bun
    Car S.

Every time I'm in Philly, since 2020, I always come here and try different items. This is the first time that I actually found great dishes. My preference is for vegetables and tofu vs the faux meats. In the past the items I ordered were recommendations by servers and it really bugged me that they would say, "this item is popular" and did this mean the servers themselves don't like the food? Anyway, these are the ones I would recommend: Chef's Specialty #24 lions mane: good flavor but a bit too chewy but you won't find these dish anywhere else. The salad that comes with it - avocado tofu wood ear mushrooms- has a good flavor and that's all i can tell you because for the life of me I can't remember as I didn't take notes. Chef's Specialty As You Wish: fried tofu ski with stuff inside and greens (they didn't have the pea leaves so Bok choy was my substitute) - very good savory flavor, not Westernized at all. Steamed pork buns: I ordered these for someone non-veg and the bun to meat ratio is 2:1 (I think see photo) and it needs to be 1.5:1 or 1:1 personal preference but it was pretty good, faux meat and all. Potato croquettes: it's okay, I was expecting baked or fried mashed potatoes but when I bit into it it left em hanging. They mixed something into it like rice flour or something. Not a bad flavor but o wanted potatoes. Taro croquettes in sweet and sour sauce: hmmm not a fan for this as a meal. There's no protein. Perhaps as an appetizer it's good but with rice, this is not a complete meal. Always mention no garlic no onion just to make sure note to self. Definitely will need to try things one by one as I only have one mouth and one stomach and can't try many things at the same time. I didn't note down what I ordered before and all I know was they were faux meats and not that great.

I wish I had more time to try more of the menu here. Everything I did try was amazing! The server was really friendly and the staff checked in with me a couple times to see how I was doing. It was a little empty at first because I got there like 10 minutes after opening but it filled quickly. It had a nice mix of classy and casual. I would definitely recommend for vegetarians and vegans - so many options!

We stopped by here on our way to lantern frst. This place was introduced to us by out friend who's a vegetarian. They can make food without garlic and onion. This Place is easy to find, parking is a bit harder to fine but there is a parking garage that you can park in and it is pretty close to the restaurant. Place is not busy so you get seated and greeted right away. We ordered our food and the food comes right away. Everything was seasoned right and comes out hot and delicious. A must try is the Vegan peking duck. It was crispy and plenty to share. We order all this food along with 4 more dishes and the total came out to be $131 which is REALLY GOOD and reasonable for delicious and vegan food. Also recommending the green beans as it is so good, it's crunchy, seasoned perfect, and also not as oily and soggy as other places i've eaten at. Ambiance was quiet. You can deff enjoy tour time here. We will make this out yearly place to stop by. Oh and if you have a tesla, there are super charge in the garage to so charge and by the time you finish eating., you're ready for your trip. Very convenient.

Came back less than two weeks later because I can't get enough of vegan dim sum! This time we had the same repeats as last time, just as good - with a few new items. We tried the fried sesame balls and the fried taro cakes. The fried taro cakes were fantastic, lovely fried texture and not overly oily or greasy. I also loved the veggie roast pork bun. I haven't had that dish in ages and it hit the spot, missing that type of flavor in dim sum! They also have the really good quality green tea from Taiwan, would recommend! As I write this review, I dream of my next visit..

I always wanted to try this place and glad I finally went. The place is pretty spacious, servers are attentive and friendly. We ordered steamed veg dumplings, braised lion's head (veg meatballs), and a plate of black mushrooms, bok choy, and asparagus. We enjoyed all the dishes, I especially loved the assorted veg plates. Unlike other Chinese restaurants this place did not feel the food was too salty and greasy. I would love to come back and try other dishes!

    17. Tofu Skin Braised with 2 Kinds Mushroom

Came here for a late lunch/early dinner, so it wasn't crowded at all, and we were seated right away comfortably and our servers were super attentive and helpful. I appreciate that items that are vegan and gluten-free are clearly marked as such on the menu, making it easier to make decisions about what to get. I got to try the Mapo Tofu which had a nice deep, almost smoky flavor. A little spicy with a slow burn. Went really well with the brown rice I asked to get with it. I also got the Tofu Skin Braised with Two Kinds of Mushroom ... oh my goodness, so incredibly flavorful with the richness from the mushrooms. I wanted to drink the sauce as a soup. All of that flavor had marinated into the tofu skin, which was also slightly chewy for the perfect texture. My meat-eating companions found their food enjoyable, too, which is always a plus. If I'd come with a larger group, I'd have loved to try some of their other dishes. I'm not sure if I'll be back in this area to come back here, but if I am, I'd love to try some other items.

Stopped in for the midday lunch special and highly recommend it. Great prices across the board whether you want an entree, noodle, or a lighter lunch. You also get a bowl of soup and a spring roll with lunch special, and some dishes come with rice. Nice relaxing atmosphere inside and seated quick if you want to stop in for lunch. Got the veggie lo mein which was a mighty portion for lunch. Miso soup was tasty as well. Tried the steamed taro dumpling as well and they were great. Had many bits of various veggies in them. I want to come back and try more of their dim sum options for dinner. Thanks

Allergy conscious friendly. Great notation of ingredients online which minimizes worry for those with allergies. Option provided on DoorDash to note allergies. So many menu options to choose from. Ready in a timely manner. Packed securely. Awesome portion. Pocket friendly pricing. Fresh ingredient's & great flavor.

The service is great. The waitress welcomed me with a big smile. The interior design is very unique. It is simple and minimum so it is in line with the simple, easy, back to nature spirit of veg cuisines. The jasmine tea is authentic and strong. My main dish - sesame seitan is so so. The sesame smells good, but the seitan is too hard to chew. It doesn't have any taste.

    Jasmine M.

Absolutely love this all vegan dim sum place! I've been here a few times and really enjoying all the different dim sum options. I really usually like the scallion pancakes, the tofu and all the dumplings they have. They had this really good barbecue seitan this time which we really enjoyed. It's also BYOB!

As good as vegetarian food can be. The meat substitutes were not a one for one replacement, but they made do with having good flavor. The food is very light and clean, and is a perfect cleanser for when you have a cold or a bad hangover.

REVIEW UPDATE: We had dinner at Unit Su Vege before the Air concert at The Met Philadelphia a few weeks ago. Nothing has changed since my last review- it's still one of our favorite eateries in Philly offering a large variety of tasty, vegan Asian dishes on their menu. So good!

Omgsh! Came here for a girl's night dinner and it did not disappoint!! I think we ordered half the menu All of the food was DIVINE and the fact it's BYOB was *chef's kiss* perfection. The service was incredible and allowed us to yap and gab on our rainy evening out. Inside it was clean and spacious considering the size of the restaurant. You can tell they do a lot of take out orders, but worth checking out to sit down once in a while too. The best part... It's VERY RESONABLE IN PRICE!! We spent $100 on all the food we ordered and tipped generously for their time and attention. Well worth it for a veg/vegan Chinese place! Will be back for sure

The homemade DanDan noodles were our favorite, which are served with ground pork in a spicy peanut sauce. We also got the three cup chicken which was so good, with a sweet, licorice-like glaze. Some other favorites were the black pepper chicken and the long hot chicken, if you enjoy spice. We had the ginger and scallion dish and was not our favorite, as the chicken had a unique consistency and was quite limp. Overall, good service and a relaxing ambiance in a bustling city.

ATMOSPHERE: Intimate spot with a small loft, soft music and big windows for people watching. Takeout and deliveries seemed to be the majority of the business. RESERVATIONS: Not needed on this particular Monday night. PARKING: Street or garage. MENU: Sichuan & Taiwanese dishes. No dim sum. BEVERAGE: Lychee Martini Perfectly chilled and balanced, complete with a whole lychee garnish. FOOD: Dan Dan Noodles We got it plain but proteins were available. Thicker noodles coated in a thick peanut-flavored sauce with a little kick of heat. Very good but I'd definitely add either chicken or tofu to break up the carbs. Dry Pot Dish Served in a steel wok, we opted for chicken which was super tender. Very flavorful dish but it wasn't presented sizzling as the menu stated. Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup If you're a ramen fan and want something different, I think you'll love this as much as I did. A generous amount of thick noodles (available hand-ripped flat noodles are a $1 option), chunky slices of tender and fatty beef swimming in a savory and slightly sour dark-hued broth. Forgot to nix the cilantro but it wasn't overly loaded. Total yum. SERVICE: Greeting was immediate and friendly. Male server was knowledgeable but there was no follow up. OVERALL: A very enjoyable alternative to traditional Asian cuisine.

I got dinner here recently after not coming for a while and was reminded just how good it is. Really delicious, authentic, and affordable Northern Chinese food - my mom is from that region and always asks to come here whenever she visits. The noodle portions are huge and expertly hand-crafted and cooked for the perfect bouncy chewy texture. The dumplings are also lowkey the best in Chinatown, with a thicker chewy skin characteristic of Northern-style dumplings, a juicy filling bursting with flavor, and a perfect sweet soy sauce dip on the side. Service is quick and friendly, with the servers able to accommodate both Chinese and English speakers and happy to give recommendations. And you can tell from the clientele that this place is a hit with both Chinese and non-Chinese diners alike. It was packed on a Friday night! However, I found that the meal didn't live up to what I remembered at the UCity Han Dynasty or the Sichuan food I've had at other spots. My partner and I ordered the dan dan noodles and double cooked pork belly to share, our longtime regular order. The portions were generous and prices were affordable, but both dishes fell short in some ways. The dan dan noodle sauce was mostly sesame-based with little of the chili heat I remembered, and there was only a bit of the ground pork topping. It left me wondering whether they hold off on the spice at this location due to the clientele, whether they changed the recipe, or whether it was just an off day. The pork in the double cooked pork was overcooked and tough, and the dish didn't have enough of the veggie components (leeks and peppers) to balance it out. Another minor nitpick - there was a World Cup game going on while we ate and the multiple downstairs TVs had the game on. The second floor where we were seated also had a nice big TV, yet it seemed to be left on a screensaver slideshow of random landscape photos. Would have been nice to watch the game! I was overall left feeling pretty meh about the meal. I'd give the UCity location another shot, but don't think I'd come back to the Old City one.
