As for this bakery, it's nothing flashy just a nostalgic classic for all your Filipino needs - baked goods, pastries, breads, and other familiar Filipino snacks. FOOD Turon (Recommend) Their signature delight. Freshly fried to a nice crisp. A caramelized wrapper that created lumpia crumbs with every bite. The banana and jackfruit was fresh and sweet. Hopia - Ube Coconut (Recommend) Another classic. Regardless of what flavor, you're in for a delight. A flaky pastry with the right amount of earthy sweet ube filling and a nice hint of coconut. Match this with some tea and coffee and you're in for a delightful morning to start your day. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly and welcoming. I met Andrea and she's a sweet hardworker. What a local hidden gem! we didn't realize this was a Filipino bakery when we walked in and was definitely very pleasantly surprised. Located in the heart of all the Silver Lake action, this little Filipino bakery is tucked in the corner of a small plaza, serving baked goods and snacks. To be fair, this review is based on experience, service and the Turon, which is what we purchased and felt deserving of a review. The staff was warm and friendly as we asked if they had any more Turon. He pleasantly said yes and asked how many we would like. The Turon was light and crispy with enough sweetness from the banana, jackfruit and caramelized sugar that coats the wrapper. The store itself is small and gives a mom and pop shop feel. Heard about this place from Instagram. Cute place - you smell the fried Turon as soon as you walk in. Parking is okay (they have 2-3 parking spaces and there's street parking). Prices were good - a dozen chicken empanadas for $28, I think. The Turon was super crispy and filled with banana and jackfruit - my favorite. The empanada was baked- crust was perfect with a little crunch and they put a decent amount of chicken filling compared to others. It has been a while since I've been here and moving away from this place, I still think about it from time to time. They have so many options to choose from that either brings you back home or reminds you of home (the Philippines). Came here on a Monday afternoon because I was craving an authentic turon. Parking is very tough but worth it if you can manage to find street parking. Once you enter the store, it's reminiscent of a classic Filipino bakery with the glass displays of treats and even a small section for just snacks/groceries. Service was very kind and welcomed us. They even let us know at what time they baked their turon. Loved the welcoming atmosphere of this bakery. Turon 9/10 - The staff informed us that the batch of turon we got was made an hour prior, but it was still perfectly coated in sugar and crispy upon biting. The filling was generous, juicy, and sweet. I liked that even when biting into the turon it didn't fall apart and maintained its shape well. Stopped by this local Filipino bakery while out in silver lake today and ordered a half dozen empanadas, a half dozen Turon, and ube polvoron cookies. Everything we got was good. The turon in particular was a standout with ample filling and nicely coated in sugar. The owner, Andrea, was super nice and friendly. Located in a hidden lot, the store itself is rather small, and it's packed to the rim with all different items from chips, baked goods, drinks, groceries, you name it, they have it, except for maybe halo halo. When we went, there was a line to the back of the store, and it was a little hard to navigate around everyone. Definitely a little overwhelming, but that's also how you know it's good! Overall, the turon was absolutely delicious. The flan was thicker and sweeter than the one you'd get at Seafood City. The staff was super sweet and efficient. One of the staff members was especially kind to us. We really wanted to try a bag of vegan chicharon chips and he gave it to us for free to try. Such a kind gesture. Super cute and charming bakery in silverlake with a good selection of freshly baked pastries. When I walked in, it felt so nostalgic and homey, like walking into my Filipino grandma's house. Everyone in there was so nice too, welcoming us in like family. The turon was really sweet and crispy, just how I like it, with really soft banana inside and juicy but subtle langka (jackfruit) inside. The hopia monggo has a really good flavor and it wasn't too dry like some others I've had. We also got the garlic peanuts and they were perfectly roasted with the right balance of salt and garlic flavor on them. I hate to leave a bad review but I wasted a lot of money in this bakery. The ensaymadas are not freshly baked. The sansrival is also old and not buttery at all. Even the peanuts taste bad. My parents would go here to purchase siopao. I believe that they have the best Filipino Siopao and Banana Turon. I have been going here for over 30 years. I drive here from San Gabriel Valley whenever I'm craving siopao. Their banana turon is usually sold out. It's a good idea to call ahead if you are going here for their banana turon. I totally forgot about how difficult it was to park here. There are people that park on both sides of the street, and at times, it causes their driveway to be blocked by inconsiderate people who are not shopping at their store. Then there are people who do not park within the parking slots, which then adds to the problem. When we arrived, we parked within a parking slot. When I was about to leave, someone parked right behind us. He apologized and said he'd be leaving soon, which meant that we needed for him to buy whatever he needed in order for us to be able to leave. Patience is needed when parking here. read more

Best turon and chicharrones in LA! The turon is shatteringly crispy from the caramel and spring roll wrapper on the outside and filled plentifully with plantain and jackfruit. Checked out this bakery on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. It's tucked in a little pocket of a tiny strip mall off of Sunset and Griffith Park Blvds. They sell Filipino treats, breads, and groceries. Everything was delicious! I'd recommend the crinkle cookies, deep fried turon, and *ADDICTING* pork rinds. I wish I got the larger container of pork rinds because my parents and I nearly decimated the entirety of the small bucket once it was opened. They were non-greasy, bite-sized, and crunchy yet not jaw-breaking. The gentleman who helped me was super easy-going and was knowledgeable of all the items in the store. I always appreciate this since I don't always remember the names of certain ethnic foods that I like, just what's inside or what they taste like. If I'm in the Silver Lake area and can find street parking, I'd definitely go HAM on the rinds and get more pastries. Prices are decent for LA, too! read more

They have their own parking space which is a PLUS for the area! When we walked in, we were greeted by a nice Hispanic man. Decided to try their Siopao and their Turon. I have to say, I was very impressed by both. Their turon was delicious and their Siopao (bola bola) was also delicious. It had Chinese sausage and salted eggs inside. It was also a big size! A young Filipino guy helped us and he was very nice! He was hospitable, answered all our questions and even allowed us to take some Calamansi from their Calamansi tree! Thank you! This Pilipino family owned bakery feels like home to me. It's nostalgia in a bite. Stepping into this family owned bakery is a time capsule; it looks and smells exactly as I remember it as a child.
