I ordered the Sichuan dan dan noodles from United Dumplings, and the price was great with a buy one get one free deal on DoorDash. I liked that the meat sauce came separate from the noodles, and the noodles had a piece of bok choy in there too, a nice touch. The noodles themselves were quite good, more like udon with a nice bite to them. The only complaint was the containers with the meat and sauce leaked a bit in the bag, but thankfully it was bagged separately so it wasn't a big mess. My one gripe is the spice level. For a Sichuan dish, I wish it came spicier, or that they'd at least include extra hot sauce on the side. I ended up doctoring one of them with a bit of sweet flour sauce to bring it closer to zha jiang mian, one of my favorite dishes. This review is very long overdue. A friend and I stopped here on a whim before we were going to head to the airport in SF. We're not from the Bay Area but found United Dumplings on Yelp!! We decided we wanted to split a couple of dishes. We opted for the pineapple fried rice and some vegetarian dan dan noodles. The order came out quite quickly and we immediately dug in. Everything was so delicious! I will admit, I didn't have high expectations for the pineapple fried rice. However, it was sooo good. It had a great balance of textures and flavors. I didn't have high expectations for a dumpling restaurant in the Marina, but Grandma's Pork Dumplings ($10.95) were authentic and super delicious! It was a cold windy night, so I ordered mapo tofu ($17.95) and the vegetarian stir-fried noodles ($15.95). The mapo tofu was good, but lacked any sort of tingling from Sichuan peppercorns. The noodles were decent, though it did have cauliflower, which was kind of unusual. Food came out pretty quickly! Came here in September during their happy hour for a light meal and we loved it. Our server was so sweet to the point I'm sad we aren't locals. We got the veggie spring rolls which were perfect and the chicken soup dumplings which were a little salty but also very flavorful. We're in SFO for the weekend and in the Marina District. It is a vibrant place with lovely restaurants and we walked past this place earlier and decided to circle back for dinner. They have a nice menu with a variety of dumplings, rice, noodles, veggies, and some dimsum options. It's a very small place, like 8 tables inside and out type of place. Wait staff was nice and Ambiance was anything you made it to be. In our case, casual but the table.next to us were dressed to the nine. So it was great. Food was delish and prices were SFO average. AVOID THIS PLACE! The most rude and horrible experience at this restaurant today. The server in the picture was going out of her way to make us feel unwelcome and rude while still seating other customers after we've sat down. The restaurant closes at 2:30pm. We came in at 1:49pm, ordered right away and the food came out by 2:07pm. The dishes weren't placed on the table rather passed to us carelessly without a single word. When we thanked her, she simply turned her back to us and waltzed away. When we asked for a coke chili sauce, same thing, didn't utter a word seemed upset and just turned away. We were out the door by 2:30 on the dot. The lack of professionalism shown by the server was incredibly rude and soured our experience. We were super mindful to order quick and yet the server had such a nasty attitude. I've never been treated this was at an establishment before in my entire life. Unreal. The moment we walked in, there was a couple complaining loudly about how bad the service was--and honestly, that should've been our first sign to turn around and leave. The sad part is, the first time I came here about two years ago, the service was excellent. They used to be a solid 4-star spot in my book. Today proved that this place has absolutely gone downhill. When they finally brought the drinks, they were wrong. Not even close to what we ordered. Because nobody bothered to give us menus, we ordered our food online, and we made it EXTREMELY clear that the only reason we ordered online was because no one would give us menus--but that we wanted to dine in. We repeated it several times. The staff acknowledged it. Then the food came out fully packaged as takeout. And when we politely asked if they could plate it for us since we were dining in, they refused. They actually refused to plate the food. They forced us to eat out of plastic takeout containers inside the restaurant after we told them--multiple times--that we were dining in. The amount of waste from all the packaging was unnecessary and honestly shocking. They ignored us the entire time. We should've taken the hint from the couple who warned us on the way in. If that wasn't bad enough, we had to ask for our drink bill four or five times before anyone brought it. The level of disorganization and indifference from the staff is honestly unbelievable. At the very least, they could have comped the messed-up drinks as a gesture of goodwill, but they didn't even attempt to make the situation right. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in San Francisco. I will never come back here and I would never recommend this place to anyone. It's sad to see how far this restaurant has fallen. United Dumplings used to be great. Now it's just a mess. Avoid. read more

The crispy silken tofu was very tasty but besides that everytign else - sichuan chicken, Chinese broccoli, Dan Dan noodles was just ok. Came here 8:30pm on a Wednesday and was basically the last set of customers to come in. It was about time for their last call but they were still very nice and didn't rush us a whole lot. The interior was small and cozy with some framed articles and photos on the wall. The "In Dumplings We Trust" sign was also pretty cute. The food came super fast after we placed our order. Since they're literally called United Dumplings obviously we had to order dumplings. And having grandma in the name just makes it feel like their signature dish so we went for the Grandma's Pork Dumplings. Got some good ass dumplings at this place in the Marina District. It has a location close to the Fillmore. United Dumplings is pretty authentic stuff. Has mostly these but there's some other things on the menu. The prices may be kind of high but it helps they stuff a lot into these. Best thing to get here are the dumplings of course. It's got lots to choose from. There's quite a few that are vegetarian. Classy presentation even though it's casual. It's about $10 for a plate. As for our order we got the Vegetarian Dumplings. These are filled with baby bok choy, mushrooms, and tofu meat. Came with a couple pepper slices on it. The dumplings were tender and not hard and overcooked. Has dumplings and lots more. We ordered dan dan noodles, spicy wontons in red oil, and pork xlb. The dan dan noodles were not good. The noodles were dry and clumped together. The pork xlbs tasted like frozen ones you could buy from the store. The wontons in red oil were good. We saw on the mobile app if you sign up you get a free jumbo xlb (the one you can drink with a straw!) I believe it was only through mobile ordering but we asked our server if we'd be able to redeem it right now. He seemed really confused and was basically yelling at us, saying he had never heard of it and we were crazy. He was making fun of us to other customers and it just left us feeling embarrassed. He couldn't answer one question we had without attitude. We decided to sign up, place a mobile order, and pick it up after we finished eating. When we told our server about the mobile order, he was even more confused about why we were ordering again. This experience really sealed the deal for us. It's my second time trying it! Felt like there was some inconsistency in taste! You cannot go wrong with the string beans here so I'd still give 5/5 to that dish and 4/5 to the Siu Mai. I had to wait to write this review because I was so angry at the way I was treated here, and because I want to be as fair as possible, I've waited until I cooled down. I placed my order from their website, paid and received confirmation and pick-up time. When I went to pick up, there was nothing ready and they said they never got my order. They had to look at my phone 3 different times to make sure what I was saying was true, before they began to prepare it. The server was so unbelievably rude to me and kept saying it wasn't "their fault" , there was a "language barrier" and they would prepare the order asap. After sitting there waiting for 30 min, I asked about the status of the order and was told "it's cooking, there is nothing further I can do for you, noodles take time to cook". She then walked away, no apology, no further contact until they brought the food out. The food was awful - here's a picture of what they called Vegetarian Dan-Dan Noodles - tiny cup of sauce that wasn't enough to sauce the dish. On Friday night, I walked in to this Marina location of United Dumplings and was immediately recognized by United Dumplings' staff member, Steven. I was so surprised because I'd never been to this location, but had been to the Bernal Heights location a few times--once for takeout, once for a friend's birthday dinner, once for a lunch meetup (which he remembered), and once for a date (lol.) He was flattering and fun--our group loved his energy and he helped make our night! I like the interior decor of the Marina location--its cute and cozy, giving off European cafe vibes. There's outdoor seating but it was raining, and the inside is small. They seem to have a pretty good takeout business too. 3 millennial women shared Grandma's Pork Dumplings, Korean BBQ Beef Dumplings, Chicken Soup Dumpling, and Mission Chicken Pot Stickers. As always, my favorite was the Mission Chicken Pot Stickers--who would've thought that adding cheese to dumplings would be so delicious? So unique too! All of the dumplings were juicy and flavorful. I like how there's a chicken XLB option so you don't need to eat so much pork (not that I personally am complaining about pork dumplings.) Parking was not easy but could be cause of weekend night. The service was decent. Prices are not super high like other places which I appreciated. They charged 20% tip automatically for table of 6. Food was overall good, here's what worked and what didn't : - green beans, pork soup dumplings, chicken truffle mushroom dumplings. Both the dumplings were flavorful. Some relatives checked in around 8pm on Xmas evening and normally bustling Lombard was dead. Everyone had closed ultra early. We didn't want to drive to Chinatown so walked over to Chestnut and found UD open for another hour. We saw a couple in celebratory hats and red noses and decided to just grab something. My nephews ended up saying it was the perfect beginning to their SF holiday. Was it the food? The dumplings and bao were good (yes only Asian people cooking)? But what gave this place a special vibe was "Santa Steve", our struggling flamboyant actor/waiter, who lightened up the place for the 5 tables that would have made the Grinch celebrate Kwaanza. They offer up some non traditional dumplings with ingredients such as turkey, truffle, Korean beef but also have the traditional stuff like Xiao long bao!
