    Pad Thai

Perfect dinner date spot. The space is small but feels very open. The host and waiters were kind and attentive. While we were there, we saw families, couples, and solo eaters. We ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, the pineapple fried rice, and the Chinese broccoli with crispy pork. Pad Thai was sweet, tangy, and savory. Fried rice paired perfectly with the pad Thai, and the crispy pork added great texture to the meal. Absolutely delicious!

I was greeted immediately when I walked in. The waitress was very nice and helpful. She gave me great selections on my order. The ambiance is very clean and modern. I ordered the chicken larb and spring rolls. They also have a Happy Hour menu for dining! The selections look great!

My go-to Thai spot in the neighborhood. This Sweet Lime is never busy, and the quality of food is always good. I've eaten at the restaurant and gotten take out dozens of times, and my favorite orders are the pad see ew with chicken (my favorite pad see ew in the whole city -- it's super flavorful, has a little char on the noodles, and not so greasy that it makes me feel gross-- as well as the green curry with tofu (very fresh tasting and a good kick). It's a little pricier than some other Thai places, but the inside ambiance is very modern and nice and the staff is friendly. They also have lots of seating for individuals and groups. Stop by if you're in the area!

Great food and thai tea in a well decorated, cute and cozy restaurant, which quick and friendly service. I ordered the Pad See Ew, and specified to have it without fish sauce, tofu as a protein, no egg. It was the perfect amount, with carrot, bok choi and broccoli that were cooked so that they had the perfect combo of soft and crunch. Healthy and nutritious.

I enjoyed my farang Thai food a couple of weeks ago, so I came back to satisfy a craving for tom kha gai. In hindsight, I should have been tipped off by the menu offering of "tom kha shrimp or chicken." Another telltale sign was the number of patrons asking for chopsticks, but not eating noodles. I'm not knocking any stars off my eating because I think this restaurant's target demographic would enjoy it. So, I'm now speaking to the Thai food occasional snobs like myself, whose hallmark of a casual Thai restaurant is its tom kha gai: I found it kind of one-dimensional. There was coconut milk (of course), a generous amount of thinly-sliced chicken breast, enoki mushrooms, julienned bamboo shoots, a hint of flavorings, and a sprig of fresh cilantro. Here's where it went south for me: This soup should pack a punch, but it only gave a pop. It made me nostalgic for the version I would whip up in a Rutgers dorm room hot pot when all I could get my hands on were some red curry paste, dried galangal, aging lemongrass, a couple of fresh limes and occasionally fresh cilantro. I couldn't say exactly what was missing here, but I didn't taste kaffir lime leaf or galanga. Maybe a touch of lemongrass. It was missing the sourness of tamarind--or even lime. These things may have been in there, but not in enough quantity for my tastebuds, or maybe not simmered long enough. Unfortunately, the chicken was overcooked and a bit tough. It wasn't unpleasant--just bland. For me, anyway, hence the 4 stars. Service was attentive and friendly, as usual.

Sweet Lime was a great place to grab lunch. Service was quick and friendly and had a neighborly feel. The staff were enjoying their lunch together at the same time, but were always attentive. It gave the restaurant a good homey feel. I absolutely love pad si-ew and try it at every Thai restaurant. It was great, but didn't have the wow flavor (that high heat wok flavor) I love so much about Thai noodles. The veggies were cooked well and the noodles had that great bouncy texture. The Thai iced tea was a tasty treat on the side - can never go wrong with that.

Thai Spring Roll. Not very good.

Nice inside. Clean. Service was great and the food was delicious. The appetizer I had was the Thai spring rolls, not worth it at all. I had the pad broccoli with jasmine rice. So so good.

The space is simple but comfy. We had the Panang Curry with pork and pad kee mao both were flavorful, and served hot in clay pots. Pad kee mao was a bit spicy than I expected but still was good. Portions are generous and the price is fair, just under $50 for two mains and rice. Great value for SF. Service was okay.

First time trying this spot as it was recommended by a friend, and my experience was amazing! The interior's ambiance is simple yet elegant, and the staff is extremely kind and attentive. We started off with the chicken satay which was paired with a delectable peanut sauce and their addictive cucumber salad. As for our entrees we went with their pad Thai and yellow curry. I thought I had a favorite Thai place in the bay, but nope this is now the best one I have had the opportunity to try. I'm usually not the biggest fan of pad Thai as most places don't make it to my liking but this restaurant made me love it again. Their yellow curry was great as the chicken we chose as our protein was still juicy and absorbed the sauce perfectly. Lastly, we ended our meal with coconut ice cream, and we were given a hefty scoop of it! It was the perfect way to end our meal. If you're looking for a Thai restaurant with a nice vibe and fresh and yummy food this restaurant is the one for you! Also I'd like to shout out one of their staff named Aun, who really made my first time trying this spot memorable!

At last they are re-opened!! Beautiful new remodel (necessary after a vehicle crashed into the restaurant) and the food is as wonderful as before.

Heard a lot of good things about Khao Tiew from friends and it recently was rated #1 Thai…read morerestaurant in SF on Beli! The biggest deterrent was just the wait...they have a waitlist but don't do reservations. We got there at 3:05pm on a Saturday and were the 2nd ones in line. At 3:30pm, staff came out to set up some benches and queue poles, and there were probably 50 people in line then. By 4pm restaurant open, there were probably 100+ people in line...If you're coming on a weekend, I'd recommend coming at 3:15pm to get 1st seating. I brought a camping chair in preparation and was quite pleased with my decision LOL. I heard weekdays aren't as bad. It's located in a residential neighborhood so street parking was reasonable to find but it is located on a hill. The inside is clean and homey with brand posters in Thai posted on the walls. Even though they're known for curries, our group isn't big on them so while we ordered a LOT of food, we didn't get any curries. They're also known for their kaya toast but we also didn't get it but TWO separate parties next to us were celebrating their birthdays there and they both got it and it looked so tasty. Service was fast and responsive. They ask for your spice level and we noted mild and I felt that to be true. Everything was tasty and flavorful but our top 3 were: Khao Pad Mun Nuer with Soy Cured Egg Yolk, Pad See Ew, and Khao Soi Pad Haeng! - Crispy Papaya Salad: tasty and unique take on papaya salad. Kind of huge though, definitely need to share with a group - Crispy Shrooms Yum Yum with Ground Pork: this was our friend's favorite! - Nuer Nam Tok (boneless short rib): loved the short rib! Comes with cucumber and lettuce for you to wrap it in. They ask you to mix the dish together and it had a spot with red spices in the corner and I accidentally ate a serving with a bunch of it and got kind of cooked lol but spice levels were good other than that! - Pad Ped Nuer Sabb (very spicy ground beef): really flavorful and not actually that spicy even with the warning and I'm saying this as someone that's really bad with spicy! - Goong Pad Kai Kem (shrimp w/ salted egg yolk): the egg yolk made it really heavy, you definitely need to share this. Probably the weakest dish out of all of the ones we ordered - Moo Kra Tiem (wok fried pork): good but nothing too special - Khao Ob Mun Pu (crab clay pot rice): they did not hold back on the crab portion! Very flavorful and the clay pot got the bottom of the rice crispy, yum - Khao Soi Pad Haeng (w/ fried chicken): fantastic! It's dry khao soi with some coconut milk (?) mixed in. Tasted amazing, great noodle texture. Fried chicken was also really good - Pork Pad See Ew: wow probably the best pad see ew I've ever had!! So much flavor and great noodle texture - Khao Pad Mun Nuer with Soy Cured Egg Yolk (short rib fried rice): my favorite dish! Short rib so good and the fried rice is soooo fragrant and especially delicious when mixing in the egg

Had to go physically since they don't do reservations online anymore…read more The wait was about two hours but we actually walked around and went to an open bar a short walk away. They text you when your table is ready and got have about 5 minutes to get there. Right away I knew I wanted the Khao soi which I got with tofu. This was beyond delicious, but I wish they have more broth. I've had Khao soi before but it was a bit more broth which made the noodles less dry. Also I wish the tofu was cut into smaller cubes, the tofu wasn't very crispy which made it pretty bland and one dimensional. Other than that it was very good. The Thai tea was also good, not too sweet which was perfect. The duck breast curry had a similar taste to the Khao soi but the duck was one of the beast we had. Super moist and flavorful in the broth, definitely one of the best dishes of the night. Also the beef fried rice (Khao pad mun neur) was cooked well, my favorite was the flavor of the fried rice. Had a smoky wok flavor to it which made it addicting. The ambience was very nice my favorite was their music playlist. Was nostalgic and gave good vibes in the restaurant. Definitely a great experience and worth a try when in the city. I would come again for the duck curry and maybe the Khao soi with a different protein or ask the tofu to be extra crispy.

Every bite and sip was delicious. We ordered family style and shared everything. We ate quickly and boxed the rest so they could get home. What we ordered: Tom Kha soup - coconutty, creamy, a lil sour and a lil spice. Delicious. Fresh rolls - crisp and springy with lots of greens and tofu and a good peanut sauce to dip. Crispy pork belly sweet basil - the CRISP and flavor of this pork belly was to die for. Chicken larb - this was my favorite dish of the night. Heavy basil/herbs, just a little kick from the chilies, full on flavor explosion. I will be thinking of this dish for a long time haha. Beef Pad See Ew - chewy in the most delicious and favor packed way. Love pad see ew and this one was great! Pad cha scallop - Came out sizzling on a cast iron! This dish was fun and the scallops while small, were fresh and had lots of flavor. And finally, for dessert we ordered the black rice durian. The interior is well decorated with Thai culture and with the darker tones of the design, it makes the restaurant feel quite fancy. 4.5/5 - Crispy Pork (Moo Krop) Fried Rice - Very savory fried rice dish. Spiced well and very filling. We didn't expect the pork to be cut so large and mixed into the rice, but it was very tender and easy to still eat. We would've expected the pork to be sliced maybe in half or fourths to make the dish feel like a "pork fried rice" than a fried rice + pork mix, but it still worked well and if you love pork, this will definitely be your fix! 5/5 - Pad Thai - We thought the restaurant nailed this classic noodle dish. Filling portions and did not overcook their noodles. You can taste each component of the dish, which speaks to everything not being under or overcooked. We ordered nuts on the side but you would be quite satisfied ordering this if you like pad thai! 4.5/5 - Pad Gra Prow - Appropriate veggie to beef proportion and very flavorful. Minced well and great to complement with your carb dishes (noodle or rice). We thought the dish was slightly oily but it feels well absorbed when eaten with our pad thai.
