The hubby and I used their service to move cross country and I'm glad we did. The movers were quick and efficient while picking up our items and dropping them off. There were three guys who did the pick up and two that did the drop off. Since it was raining the day of the drop off, they were very mindful not to soil our carpets. They covered our hallway with blankets and also wore sandals and removed them every time they dropped an item off. Make sure if you use their service to leave a rating or they'll make sure you do... Their prices were fair compared to the other companies we got estimates for. I contacted United Transportation for a quote to move my parents from California to Texas. They got back to me right away and talked to Tamara. After getting a few more quotes from other companies, I decided to go with these guys and was definitely happy with everything. Hector, Juan and Fransisco were super nice and worked fast and professional. Dispatch communicated great with us. I would give a score of -5 if possible. For your own sake, read every word. They are shysters! This company is operating under many different names, different addresses but same DOT #1978660. The company name I was given is Uniname presented to me was United Movin, Inc. Let me clearly state these people are VOID of INTEGRITY an absolutely HORRIBLE. This was manifested from the day the mover arrived, April 21, 2018, until the day I lost EVERYTHING, 62 years of my life, when their storage facility burned down on July 12, 2018. Guy with a truck showed op on April 21, 2018, as scheduled. There were issues that I reported to their office, 818-886-2220, on April 23rd the events of the 21st. Specifically, the man who arrived to load everything, began unpacking some of my items without my permission and repackaged them. He covered my furniture with moving blankets and securely taped them. He then put shrink wrap all around the blankets of my furniture and many other items. Again, I thought he was going overboard but that must be what the company requires of him. It was not until we were reviewing the final bill that I learned he was charging an additional, and enormous amount extra, for all of this which was NOT NECESSARY. I was not happy. My bill was now over $6200. The moving guy said I had 4-5 times more items than was listed with the broker based on how much room was used in the truck. I acknowledged there was more than listed with the broker. However, when he repacked many of my items, without explanation or permission, it caused my items to take up even more space in the truck. I told him we will confirm the final price when he re-weighs the truck with all my possessions. He said he was not going to weigh the truck because it would cost me at least 3 times more than the 6k. I insisted the truck be weighed with my property. I then asked for a copy of the DOT scales weight ticket of the truck being weighed prior to my pick up. He did not have it because he did not weigh the empty truck prior to arrival. He said the office knew how much the truck weighed so he did not have to weigh it. I told him I wanted the truck weighed on DOT scales of my items. He agreed. During my call to their office on the 23rd to lodge my complaints of the moving guy, I learned he had not weighed the truck with my property. I was told my items would be reloaded and weighed. In follow up calls over the next couple of weeks I learned this had not happened because they could not get to my things but as soon as the could, they would load and weigh. Shortly after this, the office became UNCOOPERATIVE. The person I had been speaking with stopped taking my calls. I was told I would be returned calls or receiving emails. No calls were returned and no emails were received prior to July 17th when I received a call to inform me I had lost EVERYTHING in a fire. July 17th when I was notified of the fire my first question, "Was any one hurt or killed?" I was so grateful to hear the answer "No". Since that day I have been very patient as the company sorted things out. As late as Nov 19th, I was told my claim of lose had not been processed and here still is no police report available, no report from the Fire Marshall and the premises is still red tagged buy the government. I was to receive follow up call the next day, Tuesday. No call came. Wednesday I called and was told the person I was working with was out until the next Wednesday. I learned that was not true. I recently learned that the law requires, in this type of situation, that all money paid for the move be immediately returned. This company never told me of this nor did they send me a refund check. With agregious lack of communications, I decided to pay a visit to the office in person. I flew from the east coast to speak with the company in person. I called and announced my arrival to meet in person at their temporary office. I was given this address, 19324 Londelius St., Northridge, CA., When I arrived I learned this is the site of the fire and no one was there. I called the office again and was told to wait there. Soon, a car arrived and I was greeted by an employee in the parking lot. I asked to go to their office to speak with management. The employee called the supervisor who said "No, because they're using her private residence for the office she did not want me to come to her home". I asked to meet with one of the owners and was told it would have to be some time next week. I was not happy. Finally, while still in the parking lot, I received a call from a man named Alex. He stated he was manager and one of the owners. I said I wanted to speak in person. He refused. I advised I had a copy of the check for a payment of the move and asked for a refund. He said I would not receive a refund until I signed a waiver. I said I would not sign a waiver so he refused to have my payment refunded. I will filing complaint with BBB & DOT. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY...After 2 years of fighting these people to lay on out a minimal insurance claim the doesn't come close to the cost of repairing their damage and lost items, they lied to the BBB and was able to get my complaint closed. I am also alerting Budget Van Lines through whom I booked the move of their awful business practices. Budget already refunded the duplicate charge United levied on me to release my items at delivery. Known to us as; United Transportation Moving & Storage When I initially called, we were given a quote of about $ 7,332.00 to move the items that we were to pack ourselves except for our furniture; this included our pool table. The sales associate, Jennifer, acted very friendly, and related that we were in good hands and really appeared to be helpful and gave suggestions for packing our belongings. When we started to pack, we realized that there were a few more items than originally estimated, so we called Jennifer back, knowing the price would go up slightly. Jennifer made adjustments and related that it was not a big deal. When we called to remove the pool table from the list she related that the price would go down. After their dispatacher/ ? initially tryed to change the pickup date, Jennifer assured us that our scheduled day would be honored. It all sounded great until the movers finally showed up. My first question, where is the moving truck? What is this little box truck?. I was told that only big trucks were used for immediate long distance transportation. Immediately the bait and switch games started, first every item with glass would be extra as it required special prep, lamps, extra, boxes with extra volume would be extra, Huh? Weeks ago as my wife began the packing she called and spoke with Jenn numerous times asking if the weight of the boxes mattered; Jennifer's response was, "Pack as heavy as you want, that is the movers problem, not yours." Once the movers showed up, Ben then started to relay to us that since the boxes were too heavy, they would not be able to pack to the truck to its full volume. We mentioned to him that my wife asked many times if the weight of the boxes mattered and that Jenn told us it didn't. We even called her before the move with an accurate count of the boxes and all items being shipped. Ben, from Israel, related although the count was correct, boxes that weigh more take up more volume in the truck since heavy boxes can't be stacked on one another and thus take up more volume. Ben showed me a new price of $8,100.00. I blew a fuse and told the guy that I was not going to play shell games. I called the boss, a male who did not provide his name. He related that he would talk to Ben and work it out. 15 minutes later been came to me and related they would meet us half way and showed me a price of $7532.00. I reluctantly agreed and they went to work. At the end of the day there was not enough room on the truck because of the volume. They loaded several items on the tailgate and asked us to sign some paperwork. Wow, suddenly the price was $8,900.00. Again, I was beside myself with anger. Ben related that they had no choice due to volume but they had given us a AAA discount and their boss gave another discount. When you jack up my price another thousand and tell me with my discounts I'm back down to the morning price of $8,100 that is a clear bait and switch. I called the boss again and he related he would look into it and get back to me. He never called me back. Ben, then quickly started handing us paper work which he needed signatures on. He pointed out, "This one states that we are not liable if we break or damage your house, right here this one states that you only get 60 cents per pound if we break or lose something. This one states you don't want more insurance because it will cost you more and you already spent a bunch. Finally, this one states we have 21 days to deliver your items." I asked why we were only now learning of these disclosures now. Ben related that he didn't know why and that it should have been sent to us for review. While he was there I started looking up reviews on yelp, review after review about bait and switch, lost items, lack of customer service after items were picked up. I related to Ben that I was shocked by so many negative reviews, (Shame on me for not checking them before hand), and all Ben had to say was, "Well I'm sure there are a few good ones too, right?" Now my wife and I can only hold our breath and hope our household goods make it to our new home on time and undamaged. I do not want anyone else to fall prey to the bait and switch tactics. Do not be fooled by box count its volume. Save you selves the headache and use someone else. This was their response to my Yelp posting, Dear Michael,Last night I was surprise to see the review on Yelp. Normally customers call and try to fix the issue between the company and the customer. If is not resolve then they go to Yelp. Regarding the weight of your boxes, The move was charged by Volume cf not weight. The order for service that Jennifer sent you and you sign electronically explains what the price included and what was extra. I understand Jennifer gave you a guarantee rate for any additional cf. This is the worst possible company you could move with. Our experience was a nightmare! They charged us double the estimate, destroyed a number of our belongings, never reassembled items as promised. There customer service is non existent, they never retuned phone calls as promised. Nor did they follow up on damaged items that were turned into them. I am still waiting for any type of response from this company after an 18 month effort to resolve this problem. Our move was a major move from California to Nashville, TN and included one month of storage. boxes were crushed and destroyed and well as lost in the move. We were absolutely thrilled with the service United Transportation provided for our inter-city move. The movers we had were all fantastic from beginning to end - professional, pleasant and extremely hard working. The first part of the move took 11 hours and the workers worked tirelessly (and happily) during the entire stretch. They were extremely careful with all of our belongings and nothing got so much as a scratch from the move. United-Transportation moving and storage was great. I had contacted them for a quote on the phone and they responded quickly to provide me with a quote for three movers within two weeks of my call. They had called to provide confirmation of the time 3 days before the scheduled moving day, as promised. On the morning of the actual move, they had called 30 minutes prior to their arrival and actually came a few minutes earlier. They had all of the packing supplies needed for all types of furniture that still needed to be moved. All three of the movers were experienced, courteous, and fast. They were careful with our belongings and packed all of the delicate items carefully. They had quoted us about two hours to pack, 45 minutes of driving time, and 2 hours to unload and were exactly on time!! John, the head-mover who had helped us on moving day, even provided some money saving ideas for us. Natalie in the sales department took care of all the transactions and deals. I don't know where to start! I gave this one star because you cannot give ZERO STARS... It has been 6 months and I am still waiting for missing items from my move! After repeated calls to "Ben" the rudest supervisor I've had to communicate with...no people skills what so ever... there is still no resolution for the return of my items. They finally located the missing items - delivered to the home BEFORE my delivery. They located my things mid-January and they have still not made arrangements to deliver them to my home. They are waiting on the best price to ship it and then will charge me at a discounted price! WHAT??? If I go back to the beginning, it's scary! I asked to have someone PHYSICALLY come out to view the items I was moving from CA to NC. I didn't want ANY SURPRISES on the day of the move. I went thru EVERY ITEM with the representative, Tammy. She told me she would be OVER-ESTIMATING the job so if she estimated too high, I would get the credit applied in my favor and if she estimated UNDER, it would be 'on them'. Well, On the day of the move... the crew (who were an ESL team!) backed their truck into my Landlords fence (and tried to deny that they did it) after I distinctly made sure they knew they could NOT park in the driveway. My LL came home and immediately to my apartment to find out what happened to the fence...everyone looked at me with a blank stare. I went down to see the damage - which was horrific...every board was splintered... they claimed they didn't do it! I was like "Dude, this is a fresh damage! clearly!!" They pushed it off to a 'supervisor' Then the 'supervisor' [Francisco] told me my items were OVER the estimate...like by $700!! later on, I was charged 'at a discounted price' that I would have to pay for in cash at the time of delivery or I would NOT be getting my stuff delivered. Hostage! They packed up my things on 11/9 and I did not get my things delivered until LATE DECEMBER 12/19!!!! How crazy it that to live with NOTHING on hand....I had a blow-up mattress 3 outfits and a pair of pajamas! I had NO kitchen stuff, lighting, chairs, etc.... and I am still waiting on items delivered to the family scheduled BEFORE my delivery. I had already OVER-PAID for the move and now they want to charge me AGAIN to get me the items missing! Who does that??? What has happened to customer service! Trust me, if this were a good experience... I would have written a good review for them... but damn, find another business that has NOTHING to do with people! Moving is stressful enough, this made it WORSE! I wish I had read the reviews before I contracted them... they are not a company who stands by their word, despite their 'recording' while you sit on hold forever! I WOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR A COMPANY WHO CARES. I got one run around after run around after run around, and still no resolution and especially from especially this 'supervisor' Ben. He was just rude, rude, rude. I would NEVER EVER use this company again. After repeated attempts to resolve and fix the broken fence, My landlord had to fix the fence himself and of course, he took that expense out of MY security deposit. So I was out $1,000 from MY security deposit that I was counting on after my move. So I'm out MORE money because of this company. Do you think they will reimburse me for their lack of responsibility? If they make that up to me, I will for sure update this review to shed a more positive light on this company, for now, they are on the sh*t list so keep looking for a more honorable, reputable company. I booked my move from Oregon to New York through a broker company that contracts with United to perform the actual move. I will preface this review with admitting that using a broker caused some miscommunication and contributed to some of the issues with this move. That being said, the service I received from United was extremely unsatisfactory. It took nearly 2 months to move my belongings, and the customer service was truly horrible. My pickup was initially scheduled for December 19. On December 21 at 9 pm, the driver called and said he would be arriving in about an hour. My storage unit closed at 10, so we agreed to meet at the storage unit first thing the next morning instead. The driver and one assistant showed up the next morning three hours later than the agreed upon time. This was only the beginning. My belongings were picked up on December 22, and driven to California, where they sat until my delivery on February 15. The initial delivery was supposed to be on January 15! The delivery was repeatedly pushed back, and it was very clear that United was making absolutely no effort to ensure a timely delivery. In addition, they make you sign a contract that says they have 21 business days to make the delivery. So you basically have no recourse if your delivery is extremely delayed. And the reimbursement for a late delivery is only $30 per day. Hardly appropriate for such a huge inconvenience! The company also doesn't typically accept credit cards (which seems a little sketchy to me). However, I arranged to pay the remaining balance due upon delivery by credit card. Unfortunately, there was a last minute problem in which my credit card was declined the night before delivery. I arranged with management to pay by credit card the morning of delivery, but when the driver found out about this, he refused to come to my house to deliver my belongings! The driver refused to deliver unless I had cash or money order, despite my having made special arrangements. This was obviously not communicated to the driver and was a huge inconvenience and burden. Between the late pickup, extremely late delivery, and poor customer service, this move went absolutely horribly. I will not be using United for any future moves, nor would I recommend them to a friend. The only positive remark I can make is that my belongings arrived in decent shape with very few damages. read more

I've had my share of moving companies. But for the most part they were extremely helpful and dependable. I just want to advise, if you want a more accurate estimate you need to know exactly what you are moving, how many boxes, size of all your boxes and everything else included. RUN- RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!! Absolutely positively the worst customer service ever! Nobody EVER returns phone calls or emails. Not only did my daughter and I have to help one of the movers load our stuff at origin (they only sent 1 guy and he showed up at 630pm to a storage unit that had no lights and closed at 7pm), but now that the stuff was delivered- we have some damage, a few missing items, and some issues to discuss and I cannot get anybody to contact me regarding filing a claim. We went with United because we had used United before (albeit a different franchise- and they were amazing) and we expected the same type of service given the name United. Boy, were we wrong! Biggest mistake I ever made was trusting them. Take my advice and run fast and far away from this business. Update: I wrote that on 11/24/16. Once it posted on Yelp, I received an IMMEDIATE callback, asking me to take the review down. They promised they would work with me. They provided me with the information to file a claim with their third party company. I removed the review and filed the claim for damages to furniture, damage to our hardwood floor in our brand new house we had custom built (they used a Sharpie to cover the scratches they made!), and missing items. It took the claims company 3 months to get back to us. Their offer? $24. Yes, TWENTY-FOUR dollars. Our loss was at least $2000. I called United and spoke with the representative who had promised to work with me. She was shocked at their offer and swore she would talk to her management at United and see what they could come up with. She promised to call me back. Almost two weeks later, I called her. She was "unavailable". I left a message to call me back within 24 hours. It has been 72 hours- still no callback. Here's the deal. If you choose to use them even after reading this review, do NOT sign any paperwork when your stuff is delivered until you have had a chance to go through every single box and ensure everything is accounted for and there is no damage. If this requires them to find a hotel room for six months while you open every box and unpack everything- so be it. Just DO NOT SIGN. Once you sign- you are saying you received everything. The mover who moved us assured that I was only signing that they delivered our stuff. He said if there were any issues down the road, I could file a claim. Well- I did that- and received an offer of $24. We are consulting an attorney about filing a lawsuit against them. The biggest mistake I have ever made in my life is hiring United Transportation and Moving Company. read more

We were very lucky to find this moving company (last minute) literally the day before moving and they still accommodated picking up our items the next morning and labeling/writing down all of our inventory. Few months ago i used United Transportation Moving & Storage to move into a new place. I used to live with my friend and now i have my own place. They are very responsive and easy to work with. And the price is just right, they won't charge you a lot which is the good thing! The movers arrived early which I wasn't expecting, with no hesitation they start loading and unloading all my stuff. They moved my entire apartment, drove to a storage facility to load more items, drove to the new apartment, and unloaded everything in five hours. They worked so fast, even the management team in the new building noticed and asked for their name. I also recommend them to all of my friends. I have been dealing with this company for over three months. They first overcharged me for the shipment and then they tried to add additional costs to the shipment by increasing the cubic feet of the shipment. When i confronted them with this issue. They did remove the additional costs but they still have not delivered my shipment. It is going on 12 weeks since they picked up the shipment. When i ask them for a delivery date it goes silent. Anna was helping me but she has gone silent now. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with this shipping company. read more

I was really impressed by the can-do attitude of Dustin Rowlett when, on an emergency basis he diverted his trip back to California to come to Taos,NM, to pack up and load our 3-bedrooms' worth of household goods *by himself* without a crew! He worked non-stop for 9 hours after arrival into the COLD high desert night. He did this with good humor and explained every step of the way how he was doing the job. We really thought we did our homework on moving companies endless research . We got blindsided. Excited were quoted a reasonable charge in the beginning... Double charge upon pick up. Were told 17days for delivery took 3 1/2 months and were still waiting for the rest of our items told they have no idea where they are . Very valuable irreplaceable items destroyed of what was delivered sadly to say zero remorse zero communication. Once they have your money and your items its basically cross your fingers and hope for the best. Were very heartbroken . read more

I definitely recommend United as a moving company. They moved me from Austin to LA and they did a great job. They packed everything up for me in boxes, put it on the truck and a few days later they unpacked and put everything together for me. They did a great job and were very nice people.
