HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Literally traumatic experience. Me and my 3 sisters recently went to try and stay here because one of my sisters was graduating from Chico state. We got there at like 11:30pm since we had about a 6 hour drive. First of all, they had no more parking available and we had to park on the side of the pool. We got to our room and right away when we opened the door, there was a STRONG smell of locked in air with humidity and cigarette smell. The bed was full of little black hair, the floors and walls were disgustingly dirty, and there was a cockroach in the bath tub! We contacted Expedia about the room since the area felt unsafe to walk late at night to the lobby. The man later came to our door VERY aggressive towards me and sisters saying that the hair was normal, the cockroach was fly and started saying that nobody is perfect! While talking VERY aggressive. I didn't not feel safe so me and my sisters decided not to stay and went to go look somewhere else at 12 am. The man did not and does not want to give at least HALF the money back since we didn't stay the night or even an hour! Horrible experience. Would not recommend to ANYONE.

Wiped the dirt from the floors ourselves

This is my first ever yelp review. I was Curious how bad this place would be... seeing the reviews, ands obvious that the owner of the place really does not care about who stays here. I have so many things i was shocked to see at this place-- disgustingly dirty floors, sheets covered in black hair, wifi didn't work, and so much more. Also seemed like we had a millipede infestation in our room... luckily i like bugs. The staff inside seemed very nice, and one of the worker seemed very concerned when we told him about how gross our room was. The cleaning ladies weren't as nice though. We asked them if they could clean our floors... since when we walked around, our feet turned dirty and brown from what looked like weeks of buildup. They, of course, didn't seem to make it to our room, as not only were our floors not cleaned, but nothing was refilled or tidied. I was also shocked by our sheets. They were paper thin, and had cigarette burns on them. My family truly felt disgusted by the housekeeping here... it was obvious our room wouldn't be cleaned until after our stay. What a dirty establishment... but at least it was close to town. If you want your family to spend time out doors... stay here, as they will beg to not go back to their room.

    Dirty weed residue drawer

So many tweakers outside, broke down cars in the lot I get it's a cheap inn but damn Chico step your game up that was just nasty it was supposed to be a non smoking room reeked of cigarettes and there was marijuana in the drawers...NO SMOKE ALARMS!!!! Mold in the bathroom dirty tub just really nasty and the night manager Patrick was so rude and when I asked for my refund cuz I was only here 20 mins he said "You get what you pay for." Wtf super unsafe don't stay here. After arguing for 10 mins he finally gave a refund.

They have great amenities, including free cookies, 24/7 coffee and tea in the lobby, a gym, a pool, a hot tub, and free breakfast. The breakfast is great. Hot food items like eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, and potatoes. They also have a waffle maker, oatmeal bar, fruit, yogurt, etc. Honestly, it's one of the best hotel breakfasts I've encountered in recent years. The rooms are nice, and I enjoy the modern styling. The digital key feature is awesome, letting you check in and use your phone as your room key without even visiting the front desk. The location is convenient and has lots around it, such as shopping and restaurants. It can be a bit tough to find at first because it's tucked so far back in a parking lot, but once you find it, there is plenty of free parking, some of which is even covered. Great property to stay in Chico. I will continue staying here when I visit Chico.

We have really enjoyed our stay at the holiday inn. My husband and I decided to stay in Chico as we…read morewere getting ready for the birth of our third child. We were having to go back-and-forth to the hospital for induction reasons.. When I called to make a reservation, whoever I spoke to was very kind and accommodating, and was able to get a King standard room on top floor and a quiet area so we could all get lots of good rest. The room.. very large. We were quite impressed with the layout, thoughtful design and how large the room was. We've been in plenty of hotels, and this is the first time I've ever seen a standard room as big as this one. The staff overall was really nice and accommodating. Some went above and beyond while others just did their job and that's fine too. Breakfast... It was really nice to have it available especially because we had to get up early each morning to head to the hospital. I do wish consistency was a little bit better. The first morning we had scrambled eggs, which were not the best and I didn't care about the potatoes. They didn't have much flavor. But the bacon (1st day) was good and the cinnamon rolls were good and so were the pancakes. I also liked that they had lots of other options. If you didn't care for the hot options, they had fresh fruit, milk, and juice, oatmeal, bagels, and muffins, etc. They had coffee, hot chocolate, apple cider, and tea, ready to go The second day was a little bit puzzling, but I enjoyed breakfast better. I preferred their cheese omelette, turkey, sausage, hash, brown, and biscuits and gravy on the second day . The other interesting part was the bacon on the second day was very different than the bacon on the first day. I think if there was more consistency with quality than I think customers Would appreciate it . Cinnamon rolls are pretty good though! They offer laundry services so bring quarters and they offer detergent in their little shop. They also have a pool and a gym. Overall, the hotel was really quiet inside and outside, even though you're by lots of other building buildings. There are plenty of places to walk to and go eat and there's a major grocery store next-door. Our hotel room had refrigerator and microwave. Everything looked clean and very updated as it is a new hotel. The biggest takeaways from me was the size of the room in the layout, some of the breakfast items, and some of the staff were very accommodating. The only Con I really had was the inconsistency with breakfast and the quality. But for not having to pay for breakfast, I thought it was a good deal.

They may have had free breakfast, but one with unbearable indoor pool and faulty bathroom door which trapped my daughter in for 20 minutes, another was obviously a pet friendly room which caused a huge allergic reaction and we needed to leave early- we had requested pet free-we were placed first floor with all pets, third was run down and carpets worn, service not great. Let's get to DoubleTree pluses... clean, welcoming and helpful. Needed grocery item and staff recommended S&S natural store next door, remote stopped working- staff brought one to room quickly with new batteries, after reading about breakfast chose rate that included breakfast- hot, good choices, plentiful, real dishes and not filled with too many people. Pool and hot tub maintained. Towels by pool. Didn't try bar or restaurant. Close to freeway. This will be our go to choice, as long as price is reasonable. BIGGIE- smart tv with LOT of apps- Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV, etc. DoubleTree for the win. Warm cookies too! Only cons- would greatly appreciate a microwave. Bed frame needed adjustment-metal sticking out and even though we tried to avoid- bumped into it! Thanks for good stay DoubleTree!

I immediately reported it to the front desk, but I was told it was "just a cricket." Based on my previous experience working in pest control, I did not agree with that assessment. The room also felt sticky, dusty, and poorly maintained. I was so uncomfortable that I didn't even take a shower or eat anything while I was there because I just wanted to leave. Honestly, I felt like I would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car than spending another night in that room. For the price, I expected a clean, well-maintained room, especially at a DoubleTree. The lobby and market area looked nice, but the guest room was a completely different story. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet my expectations, and I would not stay here again.
