I happen to find Untoasted when searching for a place to meet a friend in the Hollywood/Hallandale area. Since this was our first time at Untoasted we did not know what to expect. But we were both so happy to have found this restaurant. The menu was very varied and it was a real bonus to have all-day breakfast. We decided to share an omelet and French Toast- both were outstanding. And the service was terrific- friendly, efficient and attentive. This was the perfect breakfast spot! Service was insanely quick for a Saturday morning! I love the outdoor seating too. They have a few options for adult beverages, I went with an electric lemonade. You can also grab mimosas or a variety of coffee options. For my meal, I did the breakfast burrito. It had a mexican twist with black beans, guac and sour cream and the eggs were in a spicy sauce. Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, I want to eat here again. I've been here twice with a bae for breakfast/brunch, and the second time was a no brainer when deciding where to go to eat near my area. We arrived late in the brunch hours for a Sunday (maybe after 1 pm), and the place was pretty empty, but it filled up by the time we had finished eating. It was packed when we went after 11 am, since there were plenty of family meals, friends gatherings and brunch dates taking place. The servers were very friendly and knowledgeable; they were attentive with menu orders and water refills. We were recommended the beet juice since it's freshly pressed often throughout the day and they had just made a batch. We were totally enamored with it. Hence why I have 2 photos of the juice, one with a paper straw, one with their reusable metal straw (props to them for the responsible straw distribution). I really should start spending $6 on the beet juice here more often than on alcoholic drinks since 1. It's a wonderful fresh blend of juices, with an orange taste being most prominent, and 2. It's better for me than alcohol. But I'll work on that, eventually. I've had the Bacon, Shrimp and Grits and had to take half of it home since it was so voluminous. I loved the collaborative tastes of the cheese, poached egg, tomato sauce, bacon bits and smokey salty grilled shrimp, but I realized when I had the rest of it at home that the grits really weighed it down. Maybe there was too much grits in its ratio to the rest of the ingredients. I've had two items from their Menu of the Day, which were marvelous and make me depressed because I know they won't be around if I return. But in case you do happen to come across them sometime... The Chorizo Eggs Benedict were presented so charmingly, atop a bed of greens, and at the same time were so satisfying. I loved the pairing of salsa with the eggs, Hollandaise and spice of the chorizo. Breakfast potatoes were a fun oily salty sidekick, hard to finish since there were a lot of them. The Pistachio French Toast was actually bread pudding of pistachio toast layered with fluffy whipped cream and jellied strawberries. I'm not a big sweet dish for brunch person---I almost always go for savory dishes---but I'm so glad I shared this. Since the bread was never overly sweet, the dish was a warm comforting dessert creation that I want to have after every other meal. I don't see anything being very off on the menu here. It's right off of I-95 and is quite worth the stop in Hallandale Beach! Go see for yourself! read more

First we got the typical breakfast: eggs, omelettes, potatoes, etc. However we kept seeing these giant cake and ice cream things being brought out and we asked what those were and found out the meals were French toast. The first thing I want to point out is the service and attentiveness at this place was absolute perfection. We got here right when they opened and we were the second party to be seated. When we walked in, the staff was lined up waiting for tables to be seated and then was back at their post to ensure they were ready if any table needed anything. I've never seen anything like it! Both of us were extremely impressed and had never seen anything like it. The food menu had a ton of options and when the food was delivered we were both really happy with what we ordered. They do have notes at each table stating "We proudly craft your meals as it is ordered. Choose accordingly to your taste. Returning your meal will not be accepted. I'm so glad I found this hidden gem on Yelp the day I had to wander into the area. In fact, I'm super sad it's so far from home! There's so much to talk about it's hard to know where to start. The staff: I'm not exactly a morning person (read as "I need all the coffee to function.") so that incredibly friendly and cheery personality of the staff is astounding to me. It brightened my mood instantly. They were super helpful with explaining the menu as well. The food: The lattes were the perfect amount of strong to wake me up (remember that needing all the coffee comment?). You'd think dulce de leche and oreo would be give you cavities sweet, but they were just right. The guacamole toast was incredibly delicious and filling so half came home with me. The menu may not be the biggest menu I have seen but I'll take quality any day over quantity. I had a tough time deciding what I wanted and I ended up going with the untoasted club. Real turkey, a thick slice of ham, bacon, arugula, tomatoes, provolone and mayo on toasted white bread. Served with a side of fries. It was so good!!! I ate the fries with the hot sauce they had on the table. The fries were good and the hot sauce even better. Now my wife, she ate the vegan pecan fresh toast. One word...Fantastic! Located in a quiet strip plaza in the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood area you will find this family-owned restaurant. Father, son, daughter and uncle are some of the family members present and working. Leo, the son, was our server for the morning and he was pleasant, offering suggestions, and attentive to our needs. It was not busy on Monday morning so the food came out very quickly. I had the pleasure of trying everything suggested by Leo, from the Nutella latte (without caffeine) to the Dulce de Leche French toast. For a limited time only, the specialty drinks came with a stainless steel straw with the restaurant's name engraved. Yay me! We also had the steak Benedict special that was complemented with breakfast potatoes, as well as an omelette with breakfast potatoes. All the portion sizes were huge. The plating presentations were impressive. The flavors were spot-on and tasty. Had an amazing brunch here a few weeks ago! Everything about this place gives me foodie butterflies ! I've never heard of this spot and I lived in Hallandale beach for over 10 years. The restaurant is located just west of I95 on the North side of Hallandale beach Blvd. The restaurant was packed and every plate made my mouth salivate and my tummy sing with glee in anticipation of a foodie adventure. I ordered the banana bread French toast to share and I ordered the shrimp n grits topped with poached eggs. POACHED EGGS?! I mean, never have I ever! In any restaurant! This just took one of my favorite comfort food dishes to a whole notha level!!! Perfectly poached eggs on top of cheesy grits and jumbo sized shrimp?!! Yassss!!! Everyone here is so kind! The service is excellent. We were only a party of 2. I ordered the hot dulce de leche latte and it was excellent, not too sweet, just right. For breakfast I got the grist with shrimp & it was very good. My daughter ordered the Nutella cold latte and she loved it. She ordered the chicken and waffles like she does everywhere. The presentation of the dish was lovely. Four large seasoned shrimp sitting on creamy grits which was topped with eggs (cooked how you like), marinara sauce, and bacon bits. Here's my opinion on the food: there was a bit too much seasoning on the shrimp that made it taste salty and I had to add a touch of black pepper & salt to the eggs and grits for flavor....other than that, the food was good and filling. They also have wifi, just in case your breakfast date shows up a little late and you plan on getting some work done like I did. They even have some outlets by their tables! I opted for breakfast to start my day off right. I got one of their specials, the Cookie Dough Bread Pudding French Toast. Let me tell you, this thing was STACKED. If you've got a sweet tooth, this might even be a little too sweet for you. I was only able to put a dent in it and boxed the rest of it home. My friend got the Steak and Eggs. I will just keep it short and sweet. I am big about what I put in my body so I do like my food top tier and cooked with excellence. My problems with this restaurant are 1. You can't see in the kitchen. 2. 7 dollars for a glass of mid lemonade. 3. They do not crack eggs to make eggs unless it's over easy. So it's straight out of the carton. No thanks. 4.
