Came here on a Monday afternoon for a late lunch. They didn't have a lot of slices available so we just ordered a pie. Love a thin crust pizza but wouldn't say it's anything special.

Service was fine. Walk- in, order, seat yourself (or not, for take out) and they heat up your pizza. This location is spacious which is nice. The portions are HUGE. I liked the BBQ chicken & veggie pizza. I think it satisfies the pizza craving when you're looking for a quick fix.

    Truth in advertising???

Management should go back to school or hire a copy editor! The advertised 18" calzone was only 8". To make matters worse staff couldn't care less when I pointed out the difference.

half and half of bbq and Hawaiian

I like the Pizza here esp thin hard crust! My favorites are BBQ and Hawaiian. I cannot stop eating.

Pepperoni paper thin crust for better or for worse. Good sauce good cheese good pepperoni.

Although all the ingredients were fine I couldn't get behind the the cartoonishly thin crust but great cheese sauce and toppings.

Honestly not a bad slice after seeing a movie at the theater next door. The slice they gave me was a touch too generous (may have really been two slices), but it was thin crust, with the right proportion of cheese/sauce, that kinda folded. Not a mindblowing slice, but met expectations.

Ok Upper Crust! Your mouthwatering FB ads for BOGOCHX worked! I've been wanting to try your new chicken sandwiches for a while and your ad finally talked me into it. Just as a note , online ordering is very simple. My husband and I very much enjoyed the honey butter chicken sandwiches! We split our sandwiches in half. They aren't giant but they can be made into two meals. Looking forward to part 2 tomorrow. The chicken is juicy and the crispy batter is perfect. We love upper crust !

Insider tip: Online you can select two different specialty pizza halves when you build your own pie!

You've got a few pizza options near Coolidge Corner. I've found Upper Crust to be the best for putting out a consistently great pie, fast, on-time, accurate, and with the best service. If you're going to make a commitment to a pizza place, this location in particular should be at the top of your list. My family is always happy when I bring home a pie (or two or three). Insider tip: Online you can select two different specialty pizza halves when you build your own pie!

Here's the thing, I love Upper Crust Pizza. I'm usually a fan of thick crust, but I think they are so good at balancing their flavors that the thin crust works well. The location is right in Coolidge Corner and I had it delivered to my house (free to Brighton!), but the experience was definitely 3-star worthy. We ordered a large Caeser Salad ($8.50) and a large Vegetarian GOAT pizza ($22). The big problem is with that salad. As you can see from my picture, that is not an $8.50 salad. A couple pieces of romaine, some shaved parmesean, lemon wedges, and Ken's salad dressing in the bag. Ridiculous. We expected it to be huge and loaded with toppings, but this was snack worthy and just thrown together. Was really salty about that. The Vegetarian GOAT pizza is great and definitely worth the cost. It's huge and loaded with a multitude of flavors. I love the goat cheese and artichoke hearts on top. The problem with my pizza came because it was delivered. Upper Crust apparently uses DoorDash for delivery. So even though I got a text from Door Dash that my pizza would be here in five minutes, that driver clearly got another ping and 30 minutes later our pizza arrived ice cold. It was only 10 minutes past the "expected time window,"but because he had clearly just been driving around with it we got cold food. Also, we had tipped online and drivers for DoorDash don't get the tip (DoorDash is complicated as they use tips to offset their payment to drivers) which made me upset - had I known in advance, we would have tipped in cash. I might go back to this location for pickup, but only for pizza. Avoid the salad at all costs, just really really not worth it.

After eating here, I can finally say that I've tried all three pizza places at Coolidge Corner!! My judgment: Upper Crust is probably the place to go to when you need a quick and easy option. My friend and I came here on a weekday night, ordered a slice from one of the pre-set pizza options from the menu, and had our pizza slice in our hands within a couple of minutes. It was that quick and easy! With the convenience that you get from Upper Crust, I would say you lose out on some of the atmosphere and flexibility in personalizing your pizza that you can get from its other two competitors. Upper Crust is a bit run-down, yet has a very classic small pizzeria feel. If we are going to compare atmosphere and aesthetics, Otto's and Oath Pizza feels more modern and would be more appropriate for date nights or dinners with friends if atmosphere is important. At Upper Crust there are no options for personalizing your pizza like you can at Oath Pizza. However, other than being a quick and easy option, a pro of Upper Crust is that their pizza slices are HUGE! Definitely very filling and worth your buck. In terms of flavor, I found it to be average... nothing too special, but not at all bad. Like I said--it is a quick and easy option that gets the job done...can't expect too much!

    Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich
    Franklin Z.

I didn't try the pizza...but the Nashville Fried Hot Chicken Sandwich was INCREDIBLE here!! I can't vouch as to how authentic the spice level was but for me, it wasn't intolerable and was actually very flavorful. The chicken was super crispy on the outside but nice and tender in the inside. I was also given honey butter and ranch dipping sauces and think the ranch sauce serves as nice, cool contrast and complement to the Nashville heat. I am very pleasantly surprised about the taste, and definitely will return to order this! Service was also very fast and friendly.

It's a clean place which is good, but the pizza was just way too greasy. Like empty your stomach within the hour greasy.

I just don't want to live in a world in which Presto and Pino's receive a higher overall rating than Upper Crust.

For some reason, I kept getting hints of something resembling boar taint in the sauce flavor itself. Not sure why... I don't think there was meat? I feel like I would've given this dish a 10/10 had it not been for the hint of that flavor. Service was very friendly and fast. The restaurant is small, but the seating didn't feel too tight. Even though I gave it a 5/5, I actually don't know if I would come again. The pasta was very steeply priced for not that much food. Although the capeletti was surprisingly filling, I'd rather feel full on carbs than full on pure butter and cheese.

My guess is that this is more of an evening destination where people come for cocktails and the atmosphere rather than lunch. We ordered a Diet Coke, the Scampi appetizer, Carbonara, and the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. The scampi was easily the best part of the meal. It was flavorful, cooked well, and made for a nice appetizer to start things off. Unfortunately, the pastas didn't quite meet expectations, especially considering the price. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka was $28, but the pasta wasn't cooked al dente and felt overdone. The Carbonara, also $28, was disappointing as the eggs had curdled and the dish ended up being much oilier than I expected. At $18, the scampi was enjoyable, but overall I don't think the food justified the price point. One bright spot was the service. Our waitress was incredibly kind, checked in on us frequently, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a very aesthetic design. I can definitely see why it's popular on social media. There is also outdoor seating, which I imagine would be a nice option on a warm summer evening. One thing I did notice, though, is how closely the tables are spaced together. Since the restaurant was mostly empty during our visit it wasn't an issue, but I could see it feeling crowded and fairly loud once the dining room fills up. I was honestly surprised by the meal because Gigi is part of the Mazi Restaurant Group, and I've really enjoyed some of their other concepts, especially Kava Neo-Taverna. Based on this experience, though, I think there are plenty of Italian restaurants in Boston that offer better food and better value for the same price. Overall, I'd give Gigi 3/5 stars. The service and atmosphere were both strong, but the food didn't live up to the pricing. If I came back, it would probably be for drinks, appetizers, and the ambiance rather than a full Italian dinner.
