I noticed the good reviews and decided to give this restaurant a try. It's a small mom-and-pop operation with a little charm inside. The owner is very nice. I suggest ordering the lamb Tikka. The lamb kebabs were seasoned nicely and had good flavor. They cook everything to order and everything is reasonably priced. This place will be in my regular rotation now. read more

OMG! The best and biggest lamb gyro I've ever eaten. Well seasoned with about a pound of meat! My partner had lamb shanks on rice that came with 2 pieces of nan, baba ghanoush, tzatziki, and a large salad with a delicious dressing. Not a large dining area but the food is outstanding. Let me be up front. I do NOT like falafel. When ever I've tried it, it tasted like something I should be feeding birds. Not anymore!! UR's falafel is fluffy on the inside and lightly crunchy on the outside! The only thing I regret about getting the falafel was that I only bought two!!! Now, the only reason I only bought two was because I ordered the kebabs over rice plate. So delicious! What great flavor! I'm waiting for my husband to get home so I can try his lamb gyro! Healthy portions for the price! Being my first time here, I had to try as much as possible (so I know what to order next time). The lamb gyro - taste: A, size: A+ Dolmas - good, but nothing special about them Hummus - taste: A Tzatziki - like the dolmas, good but nothing special Falafel: FRICKIN AMAZING! A+ in size and taste! A must for pretty much every future visit The restaurant has very limited seating (3 four person tables and a little chair bar) and you order and pay at the counter. Sigh. Updating my review from 5-star to 2-star. I don't know whether this place has changed owners or what, but it's now a place to be avoided. I ordered the falafel plate and the mezza plate and a side of baba ganouj last night, and the flavor was no longer good and the portions have become absurdly small (a far cry from what they used to be). The falafel plate came with 8 falafel balls and what I assume was tzatziki and maybe some sour cream(?). There was also a very small amount of salad. Despite being listed as a "rice plate," there was none of the yellow rice that used to be abundant. The mezza plate was even worse--it is no longer a very nice selection of what Ur offers, it is simply four falafel balls and four stuffed grape leaves (with the same two sauces) and a bit more salad than you get with the falafal plate. The baba ganouj was overly chunky and lacking in garlic, but at least that portion was generous. And the pita was good. Definitely not a place I'll be going back to. Which is a real shame--it used to be excellent. read more

Great gem to find. You will need to be ready to wait to order while they are cooking the orders ahead of you. Made to order, some were waiting for the lamp special to be ready (they all waited, must worth the wait). I ordered the chicken tikka over salad, added a pita Plus a plate falafel over rice also. Enjoyed it all, except the hummus. Hummus is one of those strange items - some I love and others not. Lots of locals in here. Will be back and will be enjoying my leftovers for lunch. I ordered via Yelp, so hungry, i was willing to pay an insane amount of service fees. An hour after I ordered, the restaurant simply cancelled my order. I called Yelp to get mad at the driver and they said I was never charged. So, I gave them a 1 because I never even got to try the food and, more importantly, they didn't even attempt to provide customer service. read more

The food is very flavorful, abundant and fresh!! The owners and his employees are really nice people. The food may take 20-30 minutes depending how busy they are. The place is small, with approx. 5 tables. It's definitely worth the wait, and when the food gets to the table, remember not to drool. The lamb with rice or the Lamb Special with the broth. Yummy! Super small space inside, I like to order take out but you can eat in. Last time I got the falafel salad, it was very good, falafel tasted fresh and hand made. This place is amazing!! Food is outrageously delicious and portions are huge. We have been there two weeks in a row. The lamb gyros is served on a large fresh pita and jammed pack full of meat and ingredients. One of the best gyros I have ever had. The shwarma is also tasty. Both can be served as sandwich, salad or over rice. The falalfels are excellent. You have to get the baba ganoush, perfectly served with one of those large pitas and the right amount of olive oil. This is a must. And don't forget about desert - the baklava is made with pistachios and are superb. Sign in window says best Mediterranean food in town, just may be the best in the whole metro area. I happened to be in the area apartment hunting. I had some downtime for lunch and this place was the closest to me. Walking in, the place is pretty unsuspecting - small and kind of dark. Prices were really good though - I think the most expensive thing on the menu was like $8.99 (excluding their specials) - I ordered the Lamb over Rice. They had it ready for me in less than 10 minutes which was pretty impressive considering they only had two guys working when I was there. They served it on paper plates with plastic utensils, but who cares? I paid like $8. The food was good, like really good. They included sides of tzatziki, hummus, as well as a side salad - for like $8! I finished everything and was totally satisfied for the rest of the day. This place was a nice little surprise for me. I ended up signing a lease with an apartment nearby and I will definitely be returning here frequently! read more

We dropped in here last Saturday evening. Basic bare bones dining area, super fast friendly service, and fantastic Mediterranean food for an unbelievably low price. The wife, myself, and a friend split the Baba Ganoush, Mezza platter and lamb & rice plate. All of it was super tasty,.. but it was the best Baba and Falafel I have ever had! My husband and I have been curious about this little tiny place for quite a while now and yesterday we finally tried it out. Inside, it's even smaller than I thought but it's clean and tidy. There are 3, 4 tables so not a place for big crowds. All three men working at the time were super friendly. It seemed only the guy who takes orders (the boss, maybe?) speaks English as I asked a question to another guy and he shook his head and asked the man who took our order to answer me. We ordered to go: my husband had mezza and I lamb gyro. The price is very reasonable and the portion is generous. Their pita is definitely different from all I have had before. Theirs is a long diamond shape thick bread. It works in gyro but I prefer the traditional pita bread (or may not be traditional but it's the big round kind you often see in Mediterranean restaurants) especially with hummus and falafel. Their falafel is shaped different from others too, like a little donut. It's good but I'd like mine crispier and more flavorful. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. I give it a 4 because as far as Mediterranean food goes, Nicholas on Grand is still definitely my favorite. But the friendly atmosphere is definitely a plus and will draw us back for sure. read more

Little hole in the wall joint where food is served on paper plates....but holy crow!!! The food here is authentic and on point. So good. Portion sizes are huge! Every now and then I run across a meal where from the first bite, it changes my entire set of expectations. That happened today at UR Mediterranean, a small, unassuming shop on Watson in Beaverton. I was expecting the average overspiced, characterless chicken shawarma because that's what everyone has. What I ended up with was shawarma cooked very specifically with fresh vegetables, exactly the right spices, exactly the right amount of salt - which itself is very unusual - and the guilty pleasure of having it served over french fries. For 8 bucks. Pleasant folks behind the counter, exceptional food, and long hours means I have a new regular stop. read more

I grew up on middle eastern food. Usually beef kebabs are made of real cuts of beef and not ground beef and lamb. My friend and I tried the beef and chicken kebabs and they were pretty meh. The hummus and bread was just OK and the grape leaves were probably the best thing we ate there. I won't go back and don't see how this place is rated so high. read more

My husband and I have been watching the lines out the front door of this place for the past month or so. We went early on Friday and were not disappointed. The guy working was super friendly and seemed to love his customers. I didn't know the difference between the schwarma & the gyro so he suggested to combine the two, Wow! It was amazing the chicken is marinated in a yogurt sauce and was grilled to perfection the lamb was also delicious. Getting there early had its drawbacks the grill hadn't been heated neither was the deep fryer so it added an extra 20 minutes to our wait. I hope this stays here for a long time $6.99 is the perfect lunch price. read more
