Ordered pick up from here last Sunday and line was nearly out the door, always a good sign. I had the vegan breakfast sandwich and loved it - the vegan bacon on it has a great texture and the sandwich is huge. Plenty of outdoor seating which I took advantage of with the pup.

A friend of mine had been raving about Urban Deli, so I finally stopped in to check it out. Upon entry the restaurant was very clean and well kept. I ordered the sandwich, salad and matcha. The pastrami sandwich was very good and flavorful. The greek salad was somewhat oily and the matcha was somewhat bland for my liking. Overall, I will return; but I'll try something different.

Visit here for the first time the day before and had a Ruben that was absolutely delish. So I came back today and tried the tuna salad sandwich. On my previous visit I also had a sweet salad with an urban sweet tea. Friendly ladies that work the front counter. Good vibes here.

My family was craving something light, like sandwiches, and Urban Deli was the only restaurant that was close AND had near 5 star reviews. Plus it's located just outside of South Historic District, so not only do you get a good meal, it was also around nice scenery. Upon arrival, it was packed with patrons and I loved how the building was quaint and cozy. I was looking forward to trying it after reading so many rave reviews. However after actually dining there, I was left disappointed. Nearly all the sandwiches are 15$ each. They serve 17$ ramen, but only after 4:30pm. They have other options but I didn't look at those. You could choose a sandwich and salad combo for $8. Drinks (bottled and canned) are 5$ each. The kids menu items were extremely limited without a price next to it. As we were checking out, we were shocked of the register price of over 50$ for just an adult and child. Come to find out, a drink was 5$, the kids sandwich (bread, cheese, and meat) was $13. It did not include a side. Adding a side a la carte (fruit) was 5$. But we were already there and my kids were starving. So when we finally checked out, 4 sandwiches (2 which were just cheese and turkey), 2 salads, a side extra of fruit, chips, and two canned beverages costed a whopping $95. In no world would I ever pay almost 100$ for a meal of sandwiches for a family of four. That's absurd. I get that I'm in Savannah and that the area is historic but I'm from Nashville where things are considered overpriced too. But for 100$ I should have gone to another restaurant, any restaurant, for food that's worth the money. The positive? The sandwiches are decent but small. Unlike other reviewers said, they were nowhere near the best I've ever had. Even a lady who was sitting with her mother next to us was complaining about "$20 dollar sandwiches". What's an insult to injury is that I went to Lady and Sons for dinner that night and our entire meal for 4 with unlimited food was cheaper than lunch at Urban Deli. I won't be coming back and I can't recommend Urban Deli.

Yum. Reasonably priced (for the area), good quality sandwiches and deli stuff with nice seating and friendly staff. The 65-ish owner was engaged and attentive to everything being just so. Our sandwiches were tasty (my roast beef and brie wasn't as tasty - to me - as my wife's pastrami; I liked my red potato salad but hit it with some salt and pepper for a little more bite) and were large with good quality ingredients. Totally worth a visit.

Stopped by for a sandwich while passing through Savannah. All of the ingredients were top quality; fresh breads and good quality meat. Lots of different options. Sandwiches were around $15 each but we thought it was worth it given the quality of the sandwiches. My family ordered two Italian sandwiches which had a lot of yummy meat and cheese dressed with fresh lettuce and tomato. We really enjoyed them. Also had a Ruben and gyro which were both tasty.

Absolutely everything about this place hits the spot. From their wide variety of side dishes, to every sandwich you could possibly imagine and the sweet treats -- perfect! My friends and I stopped by early on a Saturday for a quick lunch and were blown away. I had the Turkey Bacon (sub for French bread), a side of fresh fruit and half of a chocolate chip cookie. All of it was sooooo good. The seating outside is perfect for a nice day, with plenty of tables and shade to go around. There were inside tables too in case you prefer that! Service was really quick and the girl working the counter was super helpful in accommodating some switches I made to the meal. She even helped me figure out the best way to order what I wanted as a combo!

Came in here for lunch with my son and we both enjoyed our meals immensely. I had the turkey and bacon sandwich which was hot with greens and mayo along with a latte. The sandwich was served on a wheat toast and was huge. I only ate half if it. My son had vegan BLTA vegan bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado. He is loving it, he wants to come back here for dinner. And we might as the menu has a lot of options. The food is really fresh and delicious.

Savannah needs more delis that aren't Publix and Urban Deli was a great addition! I was really sad to see the prior business go so it took me a while to come in. I am so glad I did and wow I have been missing out! I came by for a to go order with friends on a busy Saturday afternoon. The deli is small inside with limited seating but on a nice day, you can sit outside. The menu is posted largely on the wall, and it seems there are rotating salads daily. There are a ton of vegan options too. I ordered a shrimp salad sandwich and a bag of chips. I know it is normal for the shrimp to be whole (not chopped/diced) but it makes it difficult to eat. It was served with lettuce and tomato on a toasted croissant and was outstanding, despite losing a few shrimps out the bottoms. Great selection of sides too. I can't wait to come back!

Food was so great I forgot to take a photo! I got the egg salad sandwich and a peppermint mocha! Just a note to avoid making the same mistake that I did: coffee/drinks are served immediately at the register, while food is delivered to the table once finished! Don't let that latte get cold at the register!

A local recommended we check out this shop. It's a short walk from the Perry hotel. Free WiFi - password is turkeybacon. We ordered the cold turkey sandwich and the turkey bacon avocado. My husband said it's one of the best turkey sandwiches he has ever had. He is picky as shit and the sandwich was easily customizable. The bread is toasted and the turkey portion is generous. Easily can split it or save half for later. The iced tea and hibiscus tea were available unsweetened and were both great. I added some Splenda to the iced tea. The hibiscus one was tart in a good way. They also have a restroom to the left of the salad case. We would come back!

My wife and I decided to stop in Savannah for lunch on our way home. We found Urban Deli in the Yelp app and the good reviews plus the available vegan options helped us to head towards the deli. We found street parking close by and stepped down to a retro-decorated and sandwich+ place. The fresh salads are displayed in a clear case and the long list of sandwiches is located on the chalkboard just to the left. My wife chose the turkey on a croissant and I chose the roast beef and Brie on rye. The sandwiches arrived packed with an abundance of sliced meat. Even though my bread didn't cooperate in keeping the ingredients in one place, I thoroughly enjoyed the taste. After cleaning up my hands from the sandwich condiments, I purchased a frozen mocha to go. It was okay. However, the cashier told me cookies fresh from the oven were about to arrive at the register (very convenient!). My wife chose an enticing chocolate chip cookie and we quickly devoured it. Highly recommend the fresh cookies! Afterward, we strolled through the neighborhood and enjoyed the oak trees in "The Forest City".

Sandwiches are great, sweet tea not too sweet! Went on a busy day and seating is scarce, but square around the corner has benches if you cannot find a table inside or outside. Worth the few minutes wait online to place our order, and if you DO have a table, they will give you a table stand with number and during your food to you. But wait at the counter for any drinks! (We didn't know this!) read more

We stopped in here for lunch to go this past weekend. It's an adorable spot right across from Troup Square. I hadn't been feeling well the day before and was really craving something fresh, so I got cut up fruit and their cucumber salad. It hit the spot exactly. My husband and daughters split the turkey bacon sandwich. The staff was really nice as well and cut our sandwich into portions so we could take to the park across the street to share. Minusing 1/2 star because 1 sandwich, fruit, cucumber salad, and 2 drinks was $35! The other 1/2 star because you have to walk down a short flight of stairs to get into the restaurant which isolates customers with ADA needs. They might have a workaround for this that I missed, but I didn't see another entrance/exit. If they were to add a sign to the storefront that customers unable to access the stairs can call to place an order/have a staff member bring it out, that would be a wonderful solution that would make all feel welcome. read more

Sometimes you go to a place and get a really good meal and it's a fluke. NOT HERE! Another outstanding sandwich (Italian) and the best kimchi salad I've probably ever had. Spicy, but with a hint of sweetness, and the freshness of the Bok-choi - amazing! Wife's breakfast sandwich was great as was her fruit salad. Great location next to Troup square. We'll be back for sure! read more

Urban Deli is a new restaurant where you get great food and service. The location is in a place as a local I knew and loved the former Fox and Fig. But I think they have done the space proud with a new feel. The food is yummy! It is a salad and sandwich shop experience. You can get a combo of a full sandwich and small salad for fifteen dollars. You get a full and well stuffed sandwich. Also, a plate or bowl filled with your salad of choice. They have vegetarian options on the menu. All of which are listed on the wall. There is seating indoors and outdoors. The inside space has small tables, a bar with stools against the window, and one large table when you walk in. You walk down a few stairs into this restaurant. This is the nature of a historic building. Parking is available on the street. The gentleman who rang me up was energetic and kind. He brought my food right to me. He did not have to do that. It was much appreciated. The sandwich menu listed on chalkboard wall is vast. The menu with descriptions of the many sandwiches are by the register. The staff did not know all of the ingredients in the sandwiches I asked. They prompted me to look at a menu. I could not do so until I got to the register. This causes an issue with a line. The salads all look delicious. They are made fresh daily. The problem I had is that each salad does not have a sign. Only a few salads had signs to tell me what they were. Furthermore there were no descriptions of what were in the salads. This can be an issue for anyone with allergies. I chose the salad I knew I could consume safely without diary. I wish there was an option for salads only. Currently on the menu it is sandwich and salad only. The salads look yummy! It would be great to be able to get a scoop of a few salads as a combo option. I will be back to support this new deli! read more

Urban Deli is one of Savannah's best spots for a fresh, flavorful sandwich. We featured them in an episode of Savannah's Nooks and Crannies, and I was excited to try their Prosciutto sandwich--and it did not disappoint. For $15, you get prosciutto with pesto, mozzarella, arugula, tomato, and a balsamic glaze, all on a French roll. The bread was perfectly crusty but still soft inside--no dry, day-old bread here. Every bite had a great balance of salty prosciutto, creamy mozzarella, and the sweet tang of that balsamic glaze. It reminded me of a Caprese salad with an Italian deli twist--super fresh and satisfying. The atmosphere at Urban Deli is bright and modern, and it's a great spot for a quick but quality lunch in downtown Savannah. The staff was friendly and efficient, even during the lunch rush. First time trying urban deli and it won't be our last! Their portions are huge! I tried the egg salad on croissant-the croissant was STUFFED and it was toasted and buttery! I tried the starry night drink which gave me lemonade vibes but it had edible glitter and honey and was delicious. They have so many fresh salad options but I went with the kimchi and it was amazing; it had carrots, bok choy,and cucumber. They also have a lot of vegan sandwiches and dessert options. If you're visiting downtown Savannah and want something fresh and filling, this is your place! read more

Ordered a BLAT for lunch with no mayo, it was written on the online instructions. I walked over to pick it up, when I got back both pieces of breads were slathered in mayo. I called in to get the sandwich remade, I picked it up and walked back and they had left off the tomatoes. They got my order wrong twice. They were kind enough to remake it, however I was upset with the order being wrong twice. read more

Everything was delicious! We got there early and enjoyed a table on the patio. Just a marvelous view of the comings and goings of Savannah. And the service was on point, they really get their exercise around there. We tried the walnut and Brie sandwich and OMG, I'm craving it now as I write this. The walnuts are candied and the brie is thick and fresh. Outstanding invention! We also had the Italian, which was very, very good, too! The bread was soft and the meats are thinly sliced and piled high, just how we like 'em! The pasta salad had ravioli in it and it was a pleasure to enjoy those little pillow pockets of cheese surrounded by fresh chopped veggies. Everything was spectacular and I'm not sure how I hadn't been here before, but we'll definitely be back! read more

Stopped at the Urban Deli at the corner of Habersham and Harris on Sunday evening. Called ahead and learned they were closing at 7 pm. Arrived in time to order a roast beef sandwich with brie and mushrooms on ciabatta bread. Was quite good. Did not order any of their many salads or sides, but they looked inviting.
