The 3 hours of free parking in the parking garage just north of the restaurant was very handy! The DTC location seems to be less crazy than the Cherry Creek location which was a positive for getting a table. We sat outside which is always great on a warm day. Overall the experience was positive, the atmosphere was good, and it seemed like some of the disjointed feeling may have been due to the fact that the menu just got updated, so regular diners and the staff all had to adapt to the "norm." read more

Used to be our go to place for breakfast but something has changed. Portion size has gotten smaller for higher cost. Just not like it used to be. Always extremely busy. We were in Denver with only enough time for a bite to eat before making the trek up the mountains and Urban Egg definitely fit the bill. If you're traveling with a big group or you just want a lazy brunch, I recommend this spot - large portions, enough variety on the menu to suit every kind of taste or preference, really reasonably priced. I can see why they get packed on the weekends. I came in towards the later end (the kitchen closes at 2pm) and put in an order for a drink. Then I waited ... and waited some more. There were a few other tables but everyone else was wrapping up and I had yet to put in a food order. Felt a little like the waitress forgot about my table. Anyway - after a flight, I was in the mood for fresh veggies. The Buddha bowl hit the spot, with cucumbers, avocados, dried cranberries and raisins, carrots, tofu, and the best dressing I've had in a while. My one nit is that the tofu amount was skimpy. Also ordered a side of sourdough which was a little too dry and in desperate need of some butter, not worth it. I had heard this place was a really good place to eat. Unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. We arrived here on a Saturday morning with a total of 7 people. I walked in and put us on the wait list at 9:40am, I was told it would be a 30-45 min wait. I received a text that our table was ready at 10:50am, we went in and was told that our table was not ready and that we would have to wait a little bit longer BUT "that we were at the front of line to be seated." At about 11:30am my friend asked if there was any update and they said they had a table ready for us outside. All 7 of us walked to the patio and we were seated in a 5 person table. Our server came a few mins later and took our orders. It was very hot out and half of our party was in the sun and we were all squeezed together. Around 12:10 I asked the hosts if there were any other tables we could sit at even if our party separated. We were told that other parties were waiting for tables and they were in front of the line. I let them know we had been at the front of the line as well and that tables had been given to other parties and that it took 2 hours to be seated. Another staff member came and said they actually had a table for 2 or 3 available if we wanted it and didn't mind our party being separated. I thanked her and said that would work for us. We received our food around 12:30pm. The servers were good, but the hosts made this experience not so good. We asked for some modifications to our order (no chives for my husband, no mushrooms or onions for me) that the waitress acknowledged but we didn't receive. We both ordered a latte- very good. We also both ordered an entree and then wanted to share the pancake flight. The pancakes never came, waitress came over after we finished eating and said they were coming. I expressed that I wanted to have savory and sweet with my breakfast and was already quite full- the manager made it right and took the pancakes off the bill and still brought them. Seasoning on my steak was overpowering and not in a good way- the loaded hashbrowns redeemed my meal. My husbands friend chicken was good but his scrambled eggs were way overcooked. Wow! This place is amazing! First off their customer service is amazing. Every single employee seems happy to be there and treats you like your their main priority. I was really impressed. It seemed like they had a good amount of regulars too which I think says a lot about a restaurant. We ordered a juice and ice coffee. I don't remember their exact names but it was an OJ with something else in it and an Ice coffee with hazelnut. Warning, you need to stir up the coffee really good. I didn't at first and wasn't not thrilled but after I mixed it up a lot it was the best thing ever. I ended up getting too and I don't usually finish my coffee. I got something of a breakfast sampler which was amazing. Great quality bacon. Eggs & hash browns cooked perfectly. And the pancake OMG! It was a speciality blueberry pancake and it was amazing. Seriously so good! My fiancé got the chicken & waffles. That was even better. I'm not a chicken & waffles person at all. But if I went back I wouldn't hesitate to order it. First stop for breakfast on our Denver exploration trip and it was TOO GOOD! My fellow yelper said it was worth the wait and they did not lie. We waited about an hour and a half, I would definitely suggest using Yelp to be put on the waitlist that way you can get ready at home while waiting the hour and half like we did. When we arrived it, I checked in through Yelp and they sent a text notification when our table was ready. The hostess' were working hard and did well. Our server Jen was awesome! She's very charismatic and you can tell she cares about her guest's experience. She offered plenty of suggestions to us first timers and told us the daily special. We ended up ordering the Chicken & Egg and Steak & Egg breakfast plates with an order of fresh strawberries and avocado. SOOOO GOOD! Everything was delicious. Loved the coffee dry rub steak with that sauce on top, the onions and mushrooms set it off. I've never had loaded hash browns and now I'm addicted. The Chicken & Egg is just like a chicken fried chicken but instead of white gravy they have a house made gravy that is light yet savory and flavorful. The chicken and fry was seasoned very well. I need to say those strawberries were so juicy I had to ask Jen what the hell they put on them. So sweet, so juicy, yet I taste no sugar or anything. She reassured me there was no sugar, it's all in how they cut them. I now know the secret and I think if you want to learn the secret yourself, you should go and taste them out. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the price. It is a little more pricey than other really good breakfast places, for instance I saw on the menu that the chicken and waffles were 18.5 dollars... My aunt ordered it and it was so small. Like one tiny waffle and one piece of chicken. It was good but not 18.5 dollars good and she was still hungry. However, they do have other really good item on their menu that are around $15. I visited this place for the first time in 2019. I remember being excited by the location and the food itself. I was one of their first customer at 7:30 in the morning and their coffee and food felt so fresh and good ! I had their Blue Corn Huevos Rancheros and enjoyed it so much it stuck in my mind all these years. Fast forward 2023, I checked in at 9:30 am at peak crowd time, had to wait for 35 mins to get a table and I was looking at restaurant week menu and got excited by it . I ordered the Blue Corn Huevos Rancheros and dessert pancake, some breakfast margarita and side of fresh fruit. The food came out quickly despite the crowd and tasted just as good as I remembered it. The combination of creamy avocado and radish melts in your mouth and the blue corn chips add good texture and crunch . The mushroom and egg white nicely complement the others with the green chile sauce. The dessert pancake was equally good. I usually dont enjoy sweet dishes but this had the right amount of sweetness for me . The glaze on top brings in the sweetness while the pancake is soft and fluffy and melts in the mouth! Updating my last review, this time with COVID in mind. What hasn't changed? The food is still amazing. Their flavors are on point and the menu offers lots of variety for pretty much anyone's taste buds. My partner ordered the Hot Chicken Eggs Bennie - and the spice was perfect. Not too much to light your tongue on fire, but also not a dish for the weak hearted. Eggs were poached beautifully and the side of Sh as browns - golden. And then you had my dish - also spicy but in a completely different way. I chose the green chili - flavorful and rich, but also vegan, so an option for many. I'm a Mexican food lover and this breakfast Heuvos Rancheros was perfect. Not too much food but enough to fill my belly happily. COVID? No worries. We made reservations and arrived a little early. They were able to get ya seated immediately and socially distanced. Masks are mandatory for wait staff and menus and payment are contextless. I know we're on the tail end of a pandemic but I'm super hopeful some of these innovations stay out. So easy and efficient. As always, we'll be back! read more
