Tried them out for the first time for dinner. It was okay, but nothing I am rushing back to. It's certainly a 3 star experience -- mediocre food and service. We ordered the Asian Chicken Salad and the Steak Salad. The Steak was way better than the dried out reheated chicken. The greens were mostly fresh with a few shriveled gummy leaves hidden in the salad platter. Salads come with bread that was also grilled at one point but served cold that wasn't good. We come to this location quiet often. The food is good, BUT the hot foods are most usually served cold. This is the third tine ordering the crispy hot chicken sandwich, and third time it was not hot, it takes away from the flavor when it's served barely warm. They do it with the other hot item also. The service was okay and seating was hard to find because almost all of them had dirty plates. I asked someone to help, but I ended up cleaning it up after waiting for them to come back. My favorite dish, the Braised Beef and Mushrooms, that I usually get with mashed potatoes, it never disappoints. Though the service is always good, I experienced service good enough to compel me to write this review. Danny took our order and he was sweet and personable. He talked with us instead of making us feel rushed or like he didn't want to be there. Ali is the one who brought us our food. He made sure to ask if we needed anything or if he could do anything else, and before walking away, left us with a funny joke. Can get pretty packed during lunch hours! Ordered the osso bucco (seasonal item) and it was on point, very large and tender! It was about $18 and only comes with mashed potatoes and bread. If you want the normal two sides that come with entrees you have to pay extra. IMO if you don't really care about the sides this is well worth it. Especially since the star of the show is the lamb shank and the mashed potatoes pair really well with it. There's a sauce that integrates with the mashed potatoes to elevate the flavor. read more

Today was my first time eating at Urban Plates, and I am beyond satisfied with my choice. Despite numerous other restaurants in the vicinity that I was already familiar with, I wanted to try out a new spot. With such an extensive menu it took me 10 minutes to decide on what to try, as everything looked so delicious. The food appeared to be the type you would find at a 5-star restaurant for sure, and despite that, the prices were extremely reasonable! I was blown away by the ratio of price to quality of the food with the prices being VERY reasonable for what you received. Despite having a very difficult time deciding on what to order, I finally decided on the grilled cage-free chicken and couldn't believe the price in comparison to cage-free chicken entrees I have eaten at other restaurants with prices at least 4-5 times more expensive. Make no mistake though, the taste of the dish was just as good if not better than those more expensive restaurants. One thing that stood out in my mind above all else was that the actual chef came out to check on how I was enjoying my meal. I was very surprised to have him check personally on how I was enjoying the dish he had prepared for me. The gentleman's name was Jose Dominguez I believe, and he was very polite and came across as very professional with a genuine passion for what he does. This is probably one of the few times in my life that I've had a chef come out and ask for my feedback on the food he had prepared, and it made me feel like I was having a 5-star dining experience. I cannot praise this restaurant enough, the menu options were expansive and consisted of a large variety of options, the ambiance of the restaurant was fantastic, and the staff was great, in particular, Chef Jose for taking the time to personally ask for my feedback on my food. I will most certainly be returning very soon, so I can try out one of the many other options I had seen on the menu that appealed to me. A 5-star experience without a doubt, can't recommend it enough for anyone looking for a new experience that will blow them away! read more

I've been coming here a bit more because it is a convenient spot for lunch with some friends all heading in from different locations. The last time, my buddy asked me to order for him, so I bought the plate pass since the savings per meal equaled the cost of the pass. I think the most expensive item is $16, so 2 meals and it pays for itself. Since then, I've been back for take out dinner for the girls, so it definitely has paid for itself, and it has me coming back more often. My favorite is still the chimichurri steak. Not sure of the cut (maybe flat iron?), but it is cooked to medium rare, you get an OK amount of steak, and the sides are good. My wife tried the salmon, which she liked, and we've had a ahi a couple of times. The ahi is more hit and miss, with my one time as a salad it was overcooked, and then my daughter had it in a salad a little less overcooked, and then as a plate and it looked properly seared rare. I am sure we will keep hitting the place up for the duration of the plate pass, and then see about re-upping. read more

We stopped in at around 12:30 and we were able to get seats and order our food rather quickly. This is a cafeteria style set up where you order your food and take a number back to your table and a server brings it out to you when it's ready.
