Urban plate is my go to place for health food. Their service is always attentive, and ambiance is modern and has a wood theme. The dining area can be extremely busy so expect a wait if you go during meal times. My go to is usually the ahi salad (add beets for a dollar- they add red and golden beets). The chimichurri steak is flavorful and I could eat that chimichurri sauce all day! You can never go wrong with their salmon. The kid meal options are well portioned and come with a drink as well. And do not forget to get plate pass if you order more than one entree. It's $5 a month for a 20% discount. You can break even or even save in one meal. read more

Healthy food and healthy portions. I ordered the grass fed beef plate at the counter, theu gave a number and theu served it wherever we chose to sit. The beef comes medium rare. The beef on a friend's plate seemed well done so it didn't seem to be consistent but I liked what I had on my plate. The beef does not look as nicely sliced as the pictures, not sure of they might need to sharpen their knives. I chose brussel sprouts and macaroni and cheese and both were delicious. The portions are not as large as I expected it to be (I eat a lot) but it was a healthy portion, good enough so that we don't get food coma or tight stomach before playing sports. read more

Piece that was served to my mom had a large hard gristle piece on it. - Steak - always cooked medium rare or lighter unless I request differently. Oddly chewy - and not in a good way. - Hummus is good. Pita is actually fried and a bit oily. - Mac and Cheese has a strong pungent cheese as part of the mix. Not necessarily kid friendly. - Asparagus - didn't seem like the vetted which asparagus to cook. Had some very light (ie not ready to eat) fibrous pieces and others which were fine - mashed potatoes and gravy were bland - but that's what my mom wanted Managers were very helpful with their food opinions and info. Person at the register was probably new and not very knowledgeable / helpful. Based on the other reviews - maybe we should stick to salads and cookies. read more

Their Marinated Beet Salad with house made preserved lemon vinaigrette and added grass fed grilled steak was so vibrant, healthy and delicious!! The beets are firm with a wonderful texture and flavor!! My favorite place to get beets. Their Grilled Cage Free Chicken plate is filling, juicy and perfect with the Organic Red & White Quinoa with Tomato Pesto. The quinoa is one of my favorite side dishes. The Roasted Mushrooms with Garlic Parmesan Butter and Gochujang Roasted Broccoli were very tasty sides. I would definitely get them again!! They have seating both inside and on their patio area. Ordered the Santa Fe Salad and was excited for the chicken. Apparently, the chicken had other plans and never showed up. I basically received a bowl of vegetables having a meeting without their main guest. The salad was fresh, but for the price, I was hoping the chicken would at least make a cameo appearance. Been a fan of this chain for several years now. Visited this Urban Plates location for the first time last October with my wife and my sister. Plenty of parking available at the shopping plaza that they are located. We arrived at a good time because there were no long lines. Went straight to the counter to order our food. Food wasn't as delicious as we are accustomed to. Both my wife and my sister said their Brussels sprouts were not as good as they had always been. My wife has always loved the roasted Brussels sprouts from Urban plates so that was disappointing. I told them to let the staff know so they could correct it. They both said that it's okay. Must have been because they both still finished the Brussels sprouts and did not get sick afterward. I was craving a burger. So for the very first time I ordered their Grass Fed Burger and Fries. The burger tasted fine. Fries were really good. My craving for a really delicious burger was not fully satisfied. I guess that I must have been craving an unhealthy burger. Urban Plates only makes the healthy food for us folks which I do appreciate. Save room for dessert! My favorite is their Hummingbird cake!! Yummy for the tummy!! Urban Plates is definitely one of my go to spots within the area! This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. They have a huge menu outside on display for those who want to look first before going inside to order. Wifey and I stopped by for dinner and we ordered a mango tart slice, a double cheeseburger with fries, and the braised beef and mushrooms with polenta. You order up at the front and then they'll give you a number and you can sit wherever you like. They have a good amount of seating options both indoors and outdoors. If you're looking for food made from scratch, then definitely give Urban Plates a visit. The food is fresh, clean, and delicious! I always go for the chimichurri grass fed steak plate, but I'm sure the other menu items are great as well. The plates come with 2 sides of your choosing and I like to get mashed potatoes and a salad. I kinda wish they had better salad dressings though. I also got an extra side of brussel sprouts one time. I love brussel sprouts, but I think I will just stick with mashed potatoes and a salad next time because the brussel sprouts didn't have that much flavor to me despite being topped with bacon and a balsamic glaze. I have a few go-to orders at Urban Plates that I rotate through: the chicken cobb salad, Asian chicken noodle salad (without the noodles), and the braised beef and mushroom. The salads are filling, nutritious, and flavorful, and they do not skimp out on the protein. The dressing is not too heavy, and the salads are usually a reliable healthy option. The braised beef is hearty and tastes like a home-cooked meal. It really hits the spot on a rainy day and warms me up. Overall, Urban Plates is a solid option if I am looking to have a healthy, nutritious meal, with some solid comfort food options as well. Their meals are barely enough to get you full whereas for the price they're charging, you could easily make 2-3x the amount of food. I was lured to Urban Plates when I saw they had an Everyday Value menu of 13 Meals Under $13 - sandwiches, salads and bowls. They also have Three Up ($10.95) and Four Up ($12.95), where you can select three or four sides. I'm always trying to eat more vegetables (and I don't like salads), so this seemed like a good way to do it. I tried my best to avoid the siren song of the macaroni & cheese and opted for the sesame broccolini, roasted brussels sprouts with turkey bacon, beet salad with goat cheese and a cup of seafood chowder. I liked them all, though my faves were the broccolini and the beet salad (mmm, goat cheese). It reminded me of one of my fave restaurants in LA - although that place charges $19.50 for their three-salad combo, making Urban Plates a relative bargain! My husband ordered the Wild Ahi Nicoise ($15.95) and enjoyed that as well. Will definitely return for another Four Up or maybe one of their sandwiches. Parking in the lot. read more
