We were introduced to Urban Plates by friends a few years ago. We live in santa Clarita, so we don't get out here as often as we like. This time we had the Garlic Shrimp and Braised Beef with Polenta. The portions are generous and the flavor just right. Our cashier, Isaela, was very nice and answered all our questions with a smile. Urban plates is a favorite of my sister and I. There's always plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Food is always good (can't go wrong with the salmon, chimichurri steak, or chicken), and the cookies/sides. The staff is always friendly too. Tonight we were served by Sophia who was really kind and offered suggestions for our meal. They also validate parking for the structure behind, so that's a plus! read more

I came at brunch time so the place is fairly quiet. it's been awhile since I've been inside but a few noticeable changes: 1) the menu expanded with sandwiches, bowls, and vegan/gf options 2) we no longer line up against the food window like chipotle to order the food, we order straight from the register DeKayla was very nice and accommodating to help me navigate through their menu. I wanted a tofu bowl but I found out we're not able to substitute or change the items. I ended up ordering a salmon plate with two sides. A couple things Urban Plates should consider: 1) Can they make a tofu plate optional? Or any bowls optional to substitute with other items we like (coming from a picky eater standpoint)? 2) provide a meal prep service! Food here is delicious and it is a place I visit often when I'm in the area. Service is great and it is located in a nice area of Pasadena. read more
