Definitely recommend adding a side of naan or roti to go along with the food and make sure you're not leaving any sauces behind. Today, I have finally be able to draw the conclusion that in this Flagler/Doral/Kendall array, a high Yelp rating can no longer be relied upon. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and 2 orders of garlic naan. I must respectfully say that this was the worse chicken masala that I have had so far in the country. Chicken masala is relied on to be incredibly fresh, spicy, smooth, and packs a punch that seamlessly transports you to the origin of the dish -- this masala was pasty, somehow sweet, and is in the same tier as grocery store pre-prepared Indian cuisine that you heat on the stove and plop on a plate. I don't know how this happens at a restaurant with a 4.8 rating. I cannot understand this dish being taste-tested and served to customers. A few hours have gone by and my body feels as it does when I usually eat very processed meals (Think Golden Arches, and the like.) which is why I intentionally revere and uphold quality food. Seriously a top 2 Indian restaurant in all of Miami, in terms of taste of food and value. Absolutely amazed my wife and I that expected much less by the name of the place. Who would have thought Kendall would have great Indian food? I'm comparing this place to both Ghee and Bombay Darbar, along with other places in Miami that are very good. If I had to give it a rating 1-100, I would say it is a 95.35. I'm not Indian and have never been to India, but even compared to the Indian food I had when I lived In NYC, this place is top notch. It's highly underrated and doesn't generally get crowded yet. Recommended dishes: appetizers: Aloo tiki chat; garlic naan; tandoori chicken momos Lentil dishes: all of them. Our favorite are the black lentils. I am not a vegetable fan at all, but their cauliflower dishes (ie aloo gobi?) are incredible. Any chicken/lamb dish is fantastic (I prefer one that had coconut something in it)... tandoori anything here is also excellent. Enjoy! read more

Indian food is my favorite type of food and I have been wanting to try Urban Rasoi for months! We called and place the order over the phone using the menu they have on their website. We got: Garlic Naan...the smell was amazing and the texture too. The only thing I could suggest is that if you are not going to eat it right away, then don't order it because it gets kind of soggy. The cauliflower was amazing, one of the best things I had from them. So delicious, filled with flavor, and the texture was beyond tasty. This is a great vegan dish for sure! The okras were terrific too, with a delicious flavor that reminded me of the Mediterranean dish my mom used to make. They chopped them and they serve it with the perfectly done basmati rice. Prior to eating here I had never tried Indian food, I saw this place with a perfect rating and I just had to try it. All I have to say is that the perfect rating is well deserved. Amazing food. I had a chicken tiki masala that comes with white rice and I ordered plain regular naan. I loved this place so much I had it last night for dinner and today for lunch! Last night I had the chicken mild and today I tried it medium. (The options are mild medium and spicy) I personally have a high tolerance so the mild was on a spice scale of 0/10 (which is the standard) and the medium was a 2/10 (my boyfriend said it was a 5/10.. he has a lower tolerance) I definitely look forward to trying it spicy next time!!!! read more

All I can say is... my boyfriend and I tried this place after I read their reviews a few weeks ago... And we've ordered take out once a week since. ITS SO GOOD. Our favorites are the butter chicken, chicken biryani, and chicken saagwala - always get a side of garlic naan! We ordered delivery from this spot recently and it took over an hour although they're 5 mins down the road. We didn't think much on that at first because I'm sure they were busy. Our food was okay, I wasn't a fan of the chicken tikka Masala sauce they used, it felt too sweet. The Gobi Manchurian was decent, it was very flavorful and delicious. The naan bread was great, especially the garlic one. Reason why this restaurant does not get a higher rating is simply because of their in person service and cleanliness of the restaurant. We walked in, a woman and a man were behind the counter and did not greet us. I said "for two please" and she said to take a seat anywhere. We sat there for a while before they gave us a menu. The man behind the little counter was on his phone the whole time and she was attending some Uber eats person. After they have us the menu ... a party left and we sat there for about almost 10 minutes as they cleaned the tables and then all disappeared to the back of the restaurant. No one came to ask us our order or anything... the table also had someone's hair on it and some weird crumbs on the edge. Didn't feel very clean to me. We ended up leaving since no one came to chat with us and the staff was just awkward and quiet the whole time. It did not feel friendly at all. read more

I randomly found this little gem while driving past and am so siked! The food was absolutely delicious. The portions were perfect! I had lunch and was able to take a doggy bag home. I ordered the butter chicken and garlic naan, and I tasted the tikki masala. Both were absolutely great. Were were given the option to pick the spicy level. I don't do great with spicy food, but was able to devour this. The restaurant has a good bit of indoor seating and none outside. I would feel comfortable bringing my kid with me to eat again. This place is an absolute gem. My wife and I were driving down Kendall trying to figure out what we wanted for dinner. We spotted this place and read "Indian Restaurant" we thought ok let's try it. There are hardly any authentic Indian spots in miami and the closest one is Ghee, which while delicious , a little more on the fancy / expensive side. Anyways back to Urban Rasoi.... FOOD WAS FRESH. AUTHENTIC. DELICIOUS. The service was fantastic. Family owned and operated. Support this place as they just opened this year in the middle of the pandemic. My brother came to visit & we decided we wanted some Indian food for lunch. I had seen Urban Rrasoi had a great lunch special & I hadn't tried their food yet so why not. We walked in to order & the restaurant is super nice & clean. We were shown the lunch menu & I was surprised at how much it had to offer. It is pricey, but for the lunch menu it brings a variety of food worth the money. The lunch menu includes a protein, lentils, samosa, salad, chaat, naan & a dessert. I ordered my personal favorite the mango curry chicken which they do ask you how spicy. I ordered spicy, but it was given to me mild, which it was still delicious regardless. My only other change was the naan which I ordered the garlic one for $1 more. The food came out super fast, less than 20 minutes it was hot & fresh. Everything was delicious & I will definitely be ordering again! I just do hope they give me the spicy spicy mango curry next time ! read more

The Sweetened Iced Tea is good because it is the Publix's gallon jug of ice tea. They give you 1 glass $4 which no refills are allowed. They get the whole gallon jug for less than that not including the Publix BOGO days. I would appreciate if they allowed at least 1 refill. We also got a Taj beer 12 oz for $8. I ordered from here last Friday and service was very slow... it was actually late by 30 minutes.... I understand that there may be a shortage of staff but it is a bit of a stretch. But the 2 stars aren't because of the service ... it is 90% on flavor. We ordered chicken tikka masala, Lamb rogan josh, chana masala, lentil soup, nan, etc.... I would have to say that almost all of the order was a bit disappointing... the lentil soup was watery and lacking flavor, the tikka masala was overly creamy and again... lacked flavor. the best dish was the Lamb rogan josh. The spiciness level was perfect and had a great combination of spices... tons of good flavor, very rich sauce. I will come back here when restaurants reopen and give it another chance... I know that a lot of restaurants don't have all their personel available and I would want to definitely try it again to make a better review. read more

We were so excited to visit Miami and looked up nearby Indian restaurant with good reviews and ordered lamb biryani and aloo gobi . We are extremely disappointed with the food, the aloo gobi had no flavor apart from no salt in it. If you are a biriyani lover, avoid this place . They gave us stir fried biryani on a pan which had raw tomatoes and not much flavor. I expected a dum biryani and got masala rice with goat in it. I guess this restaurant is more to cater to palate of non-Indian crowd rather than authentic Indian cuisine.Nothing wrong on their part but the Indian restaurant caught me and was disappointed with non-authentic Indian food. read more
