Great and unique restaurant / sports bar. We've been there several times on different trips to Colorado. We're from Texas and this place has awesome Tex-Mex type food that's fresh and delicious. Fast service. They've recently moved locations to a larger place that's much cleaner. We look forward to visiting it again next time we fly into Denver. read more

Service is terrible! Party of one and sat at the bar. Bartenders totally ignored me for over 10-minutes however they were super attentive to the younger guys over in the corner. The bartender finally walked by and I was able to get her attention and order a beer. Then, she completely ignored me regarding taking my food order for at least another 10 to 15 minutes.. I finally placed an order for guacamole and enchiladas. They forgot to give me chips and salsa.. It was about this time that the boobs started to come out. What I mean is, one bartender unbuttoned her shirt, so her bra and cleavage were visible another another rolled her shirt where it came up over her boobs and left it like that. (She WAS wearing a bra). Hey, I like boobs, as well as the next guy, but this was just inappropriate and unprofessional. A little later, I witnessed one of the bartenders go out the side door and meet up with a couple guys to smoke a blunt. When she came back in, you could smell the marijuana on her. Finally, I got my food, but they brought the guac the same time as my entrée and forgot my chips. I went ahead and ate my enchiladas, which were pretty bland and lacked appropriate seasoning. The bartender finally acknowledged for the second time that they forgot my chips. She apologized and said she would bring them. I still had to wait for several minutes and was finished with the entrée by the time I got the chips. She also realized that I never got chips and salsa so she brought salsa as well. At this point I was pretty well done eating. Trying to flag somebody down to get my check took about another 10 minutes as they were all goo goo over the guys in the corner and not paying attention to any of the other patrons at the bar. These bartenders were just clowning all night. They're unprofessional and have no concept of what customer service excellence means. I used to go to their old location every time they were in town. We had to find a place for dinner on a cold night and this happened to be one of the few options around. The restaurant is more of a bar scene and very loud. The food options are all over the place for a "Mexican-food restaurant".. What we ordered: -Small Nachos app with grilled chicken (8/10) -cheese enchiladas (wouldn't order again) (3/10) -quesadilla with shredded chicken ( was delivered very wet, not sure if the chicken was what caused it or the pick de gallo) 5/10 just average nothing to rave about The service was Average for a very busy bar but it wasn't that busy at all..the waitress or bartender wasn't attentive at all.. had to flag them down for refills or food order and it wasn't that busy to be like that.. Great Mexican restaurant if you're in the mood for tacos and margaritas. Their margarita flight is the bomb and definitely worth ordering. I personally love the fish tacos. Shout-out to Urban Sombrero for accommodating such a large group of us. There were 15-20 people trying to fit at one or multiple tables after an all-day training at the hotel across the street. We were hungry and in need of a drink. Took about 30 minutes to get seated, and the staff members were nice about not making us wait outside in the cold. I started with a jalapeño margarita, which was too sweet and syrupy. Not very strong, unfortunately. Several other coworkers didn't enjoy their cocktails either. I did like the carne asada fries I ordered, which was the redemption from a 2 star rating. The steak was tender and flavorful. The ingredients tasted fresh, and I'd actually go out of my way to get this dish again. Some people had to leave for the airport, and we were able to have their suitcases nearby while phones were plugged into the wall for charging. Again, service is fantastic here. Food is good (curious about the wings) but not sure if I'd go for a cocktail again. Perhaps beer next time. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, but it gets crowded fast! read more

So we arrived this morning and told there would be a thirty minute wait, they took our phone number and we sat to wait to be called... A few minutes later people started getting sat that came in after us... No name was called and they said we texted you... and the text from my service hadn't come in until after we were sat. My wife and I ordered a signature coffee (a caramel latte) and cocktail (Breakfast Old Fashioned) which were so watered down and I could barely taste whiskey let alone the maple flavor that was supposed to be in the old fashioned.... not worth the amount I paid for it. The cinnamon roll we ordered was good but took a while to even get silverware to eat it... at this time I'm feeling very overlooked. Staff seemed to be too bothered by asking for simple requests like napkins or silverware. Food was ok... the chilaquiles I got seemed to have several stale spots on the chips but the flavor was there. My wife's biscuit sandwich was good but I don't know that this is good enough to bring us back. It is about typical. It came with free chips and salsa and those were pretty good. Wait staff was quick and efficient. They weren't overly friendly, but professional and respectful. The food itself had good flavor. I had the battered fish tacos. And I gotta say the tortillas "ruined" it. I mean they were still good. But they were using a generic flour tortilla. I mean for a few more cents, get the hand made one or the ones that are not so generic. That would taco the tacos from being average to great average. Came here another night (Friday) and had the tres tacos on corn worth shredded chicken and a side of their chipolote sauce and they were pretty legit. I think the best discrimination for this restaurant: American Mexican sports bar. I have the enchilada meal with one beef and one chicken. Basic entrée nothing that really stood out related to the flavor whole presentation. My dinner companion had the hot cheeseburger which can load it with jalapeños. He reported that it tasted good it was not as hot as he was expecting. Service was very attentive and quick. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to see they completely dismissed my chicken quesadilla. It was my first time going there just for some quick food and I specifically ordered that quesadilla for my little brother's breakfast for tomorrow morning. Aside from that, looking at the receipt now. Carnita entree: -UPcharged black beans that were supposed to be free with the carnitas. -Large guacamole when I asked for the $3 add-on that is specifically said on the menu, not the $9 cup. Chicken quesadilla: NOT EVEN THERE, but it was charged correctly Fried ice cream: Good and also charged correctly. And that's the only positive. To conclude, not a very good first experience. I'm sure their food and atmosphere is good, but employees who aren't trained correctly at their jobs hurts my time and money when things like this happen. Nestled into a small strip mall in Aurora, Colorado, this place is certainly a sleeper. Although the approach is curiously quiet on the outside, one is transported to a completely different world upon entering through those heavily tinted double doors. I was greeted immediately at the hostess stand and then found my way to the bar, not 15 feet away. As if it were destined to be, a single barstool was brilliantly illuminated by a pendant light--a North Star if you will, guiding me effortlessly through the crowded tables until I firmly settled into the wooden ass rest. The Barkeeper, "Krystal" was slinging drinks like Triple A baseball pitcher trying to make it to "The Show." A quick point and grunt by me towards the draft taps, and I had a beer in front of me before I could get any words out. Yes! I quickly found myself nose deep in the Urban Sombrero menu; it didn't disappoint. Apparently pretty popular, and known for their appearance in appetizer selections, they had eluded me until this visit. You didn't want me to pass them up did you? I didn't think so...Krystal had them out faster than Charlie Sheen on some nose candy. Let me just tell you, these peppers were out of this world. Lightly fried and covered with a house seasoning, these little gems were cash money when dipped into the accompanying chipotle sauce. If I still haven't convinced you to try this place, keep reading you crazy Yelper...just do me a slight favor and like my post in some shape form or fashion. You can even be mean to me; I have thick skin. Not as tasty as fried chicken skin, but thick skin nonetheless. So I decided to give them the enchilada test. My friend goes there often and always has the burrito. I had them make me a steak burrito. It came covered in a delicious green chili and stuffed inside the burrito was refried beans, rice and steak, extremely flavorful. Jonathan the manager was amazing. I recently visited Urban Sombrero with my boyfriend and his dad, and let's just say it was an unforgettable experience--for all the wrong reasons. We waited about 7 minutes to be seated, which isn't terrible, except it was the busboy who finally took pity on us and showed us to a table. Destiny, our server, arrived fashionably late (about 5 minutes later) with an attitude that could curdle milk. We started with chips and salsa--edible but nothing to write home about. I ordered the trio of fish tacos, my boyfriend went for a chimichanga, and his dad ordered green chile fries. The fish in my tacos? Surprisingly good quality. The tortillas? Colder than my ex's heart. The chimichanga? More like a "cheater-changa," because it was literally just a burrito pretending to be something fancier--no frying involved. And the green chile fries? Let's just say I've had better green chile from a can... that expired... in 2010. Now, onto the service, which was truly the star of this tragic comedy. My boyfriend's dad asked for tortillas, and Destiny disappeared faster than my paycheck after rent. When she finally reappeared, I politely asked for some hot sauce. She responded by storming off like we'd just insulted her grandma's cooking and returned with an armful of hot sauces, which she slammed onto the table with the grace of a toddler throwing a tantrum. After we finished our food (or what we could tolerate), we played an exciting game called "Where's Destiny?" for about 10-25 minutes just to get our check. When we asked for to-go boxes, she practically threw them at us like she was auditioning for the shot put event in the Olympics.
