I went here on while on a conference. My friends and I were looking for affordable late night spots. This was about a three minute walk from the hotel. The place is small, but the service is decent. There's not much in terms of seating but it's cozy and intimate. I ordered the salmon avalanche and it was a different kind of Philly roll. I liked the mix of fresh salmon, cream cheese, and the honey sauce was a nice sweet surprise to my taste buds. Just note that payment is up front at the counter. You can dine in or order to go.

I ordered through Grubhub to use my monthly $10 credits and this place has sushi burritos which I have not tried in a long time. I got the shrimp tempura one (Yummy Yummy Sushi Burrito) which was of decent size but close to $20 which is steep. It came with spicy mayo which makes for a varied flavor profile but I opted to not dip the spicy mayo for most of the burrito. I like the imitation crab in the burrito but I am not a fan of the lettuce which slightly ruined the whole flavor profile of the burrito

This is one of my favorite Seattle sushi spots. I usually keep it simple here. Rainbow roll and a bowl of miso soup, every time. The fish on the rainbow roll is always fresh and sliced thick enough that you actually taste it, not just rice. The balance is right too. Good ratio of fish to rice, clean cuts, and it's plated beautifully without feeling overworked. The miso comes out hot with just the right amount of tofu and seaweed, and it's consistent, which I appreciate. The space is modern and low key. Big windows, easy to slip in for lunch. I've come solo and with friends, and it works both ways. Service is fast,l and friendly. It's the kind of place I don't have to think about. When I'm craving sushi, this is where I go.

End of January, I won the $50 grand prize from Foods by Sachi and Urban Sushi Kitchen. Finally, I was able to stop in (2/19/24).

I learned that I had won an IG prize to Urban Sushi Kitchen. I had to make the effort to stop by during the weekdays since they are closed on weekends. I finally located Urban Sushi Kitchen in the Denny Triangle /South Lake Union area on 2/19/24. I was able to find free parking due to the Presidents Day holiday. It is located around the corner from the US Courthouse and across the street from a Seattle Police precinct. I liked the clean, modern streamlined interior with lots of natural light and ample onsite seating. I showed the helpful counter person screenshots to claim my IG prize. There was no gift card available, so I had to literally redeem and dine onsite. I ended up selecting chicken karaage, a custom roll, and a beef teriyaki bento box to claim the prize value. I paid extra to try their hotate and hamachi nigiri. The food was brought out shortly afterwards - nicely prepared, generous, and tasty. The menu prices reflect the location, but it was nice to end up with so much leftovers, that the contents filled an entire compartmentalized takeout container! I was pleasantly surprised with my first visit. Thank you for the generosity from @foodsbysachi and Urban Sushi Kitchen.

Casual sushi spot located in downtown South Lake Union. Order at counter, get number, and have it brought to you (they are quick!) Spicy Tuna Sushi Burrito ($18) was not aesthetic at all, looked small, and was overpriced (perhaps the high prices are due to location). The filling looked like weird gray mush and I never like the look of pale iceberg lettuce anywhere near my sushi. However, all this aside, it tasted great and was pretty filling. BF got the chicken katsu bento ($22) which had lots of components and looked awesome.

Great Service. Tried the Seahawks & Roll, very good. Highly recommend stopping by Urban!

Delicious sushi (I got the spider roll), the chicken karaage was pretty good too. Definitely a must try!

Food - sushi was pretty good! I liked my caterpillar roll and it tasted fresh. The Inari was my favorite - very well formed and flavored, and the tamago was just ok. They have several bottled drinks, including Ito En green tea which I love. They have several options including bentos, rolls, maki, sashimi and nigiri, sushi burritos, and a few more sides. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options! Service - they were very kind and greeted me when I arrived and thanked me when I left. They brought items out to me as ready and took my empty plates in between. They were very polite and attentive. Ambiance - I liked this spot for a quick lunch or snack. It was well lit and clean, and I enjoyed the little window bar seating facing the street. Great cozy spot for a light meal on a rainy day.

The food was amazing and the perfect temperature. The unagi was savory, phenomenal presentation of each dish. The staff was incredibly kind and made sure we had everything we needed. The environment was welcoming and it was a great place to eat dinner with friends

This is an amazing place for sushi! The restaurant is a modern design and very clean. The employees are very friendly with spot on service. The sashimi has vibrant colors, very fresh tasting, with every bite perfect! I chose the Rainer box for its variety of sashimi and sushi which made a well balanced meal. The miso served with it had a delicious flavor. Also, the warm sake paired well with the meal. Overall, no complaints here and I cannot wait to come back and try more dishes soon!

The food is where it all went south. We ordered ginger beer and the ginger beer wasn't true ginger beer (it was a soft drink with ginger flavor and almost 50 grams of sugar + all sorts of gums). Calamari 1/5 - this was one of the worse, soggy Luke warm calamari that tasted reheated. It sort of tasted like it was in a Tupperware for a while or cooked in rancid oil. Unagi Roll 1/5 - this is actually the worse roll I've ever had. The rice was like warm, the whole roll was mushy and tasted like spoiled fish oil. I've never had to spit out a sushi roll before and this was a first for me. The roll was cut Into super uneven pieces, some were unusually large and some super thin. It was so bad that unfortunately we had to send it back. Nigiri 3/5 - We got a selection of nigiri and it was better than the roll but still you can tell the fish quality just wasn't there. The salmon belly, toro, and others are supposed to taste buttery, but instead they were super stringy. I think the fish was fresh, but the quality was meh. We will not be returning here unfortunately and it's wild to see the amount of positive reviews.

It was also wonderful to see that everyone seated at our counter had traveled from out of state just to experience his omakase, which speaks volumes about his reputation. This was, without a doubt, the best sushi omakase experience I've ever had. The fish was exceptionally fresh, and every bite was thoughtfully prepared. The flavors were unlike any sushi I've had before and gave me a whole new appreciation for how extraordinary sushi can be when it's crafted by a chef with such deep knowledge and experience. I love this concept. I'm not much of a roll person bc it's always pricey and then you have to eat all 6-8 pieces, so this was right up my alley. We loved it so much, we came here 2x when we were in Seattle. And even our first time we had to get seconds. All the sushi from the beginning are rolls, and near the end they are nigiris. So save some space for the good stuff at the end. The first time during lunch hour, they kept restocking the sushi, and they even had bluefin tuna nigiri at the very end! Score!! I'm more of a nigiri person so I got half rolls and half nigiri. Of course this isn't like fancy restaurant sushi, but more of like casual dining sushi and bc there were so many people, it was fresh bc it was a high turnover. Sushi quality was decent. Reminded me of just like an AYCE sushi quality. You won't get sick, but don't expect Jiro Dream of Sushi quality here. lol. The other time we went was during dinner of 1 hour before they close, the selection wasn't as good as they didn't have bluefin tuna nigiri, but still worth it and didn't cost us an arm and leg to get sushi. I hope someone catches this concept in San Diego! It's so clever. Love it and would love to come back again.

The popular sashimi plate had sockeye salmon, scallops, king salmon, yellowtail, snapper, and shima aji. 3-4 slices per fish so total about 20ish pieces for $ 75 dollars. Also included salmon roe. Ask which fish is in the plate since it seems to change. Service was good. They serve distilled water which is appropriate for eating raw dish so you actually taste the fish and not the tap water. The star of the night was the miso black cod. Soft buttery and flavorful. Just enough miso to bring out the sweetness of the fish. Some may find it not flavorful enough. It depends on if you are looking for fish flavor or seasoning flavor in my opinion. The only down side is that it's a fatty cut of fish so by the third piece it can be a bit heavy. Ended up cutting the fat with a bit of lemon toward the end and using the shredded pink diakon. For the price of $ 17 dollars, it is quite a good deal as other spots in the area would charge more or give less.
