First time here. The food was good and their choice of non alcoholic beverages good. Yes I recommend this place.

I came here a couple days ago with some coworkers for dinner then again this afternoon with my mom. Both times were perfect. The first time I ordered the SoCal sandwich and it was packed on with flavor, was on the spicier side, but seasoned perfectly. I also ordered a cookie, was warm and gooey. This afternoon I ordered the Rustic Rosemary Sandwich with a cup of Chicken Enchilada soup. The sandwich had a comforting flavor to it and tasted fresh. The soup was rich and full of spices. Not to mention that bread, made fresh per order. Also, each sandwich is served with a small side house salad. It has fresh mandarin slices and feta cheese. The service was awesome as well. The employees are very friendly. Overall, I feel this place is a gem and have found a new lunch hangout that I look forward to returning to. read more

My husband and I came in on Sunday, having a horrible day. We were only expecting bare minimum service, but we were wrong. Alyson and Noah went above and beyond to talk to us and turn our week upside down. Alyson was so sweet and really took the time to get to know us. And Noah made jokes and cheered us up. Not only was the customer service amazing, but the food was perfect. Been driving by this little gem for months now. Wasnt sure what to expect looked here on Yelp for the good food pics, decided I NEEDED to try one of their salads. So the kid and I stopped in for a bite. We ordered 2 salads and 1 sandwich to share. I ordered the golden southwest salad I think. They were out of the jalapeno Green goddess dressing. So I opted for cilantro vinaigrette and it was a wise choice. The salad had fresh roasted chicken piled sky high with tons of left greens, with a tasty jicama salsa. My kid and I shared the Santa Maria chicken sandwich and were delightfully surprised. The warm cheddar with the bacon and the smokiness of the BBQ sauce on the chicken was spot on. I almost didn't want to share with my kid, but I did. My daughter order the cilantro chicken salad. She enjoyed hers too also had lots of meat and fresh veggies with a side of dressing. They also serve little focaccia breads with you salads, its the same bread they make for the sandwiches. Met my niece for lunch and decided this seemed to be a good pick. We were right! I ordered the Asian bowl, they were very accommodating in taking off items I didn't like. My niece ordered the cilantro chicken salad and said it was very good as well. Plenty of food, enough dressing to cover the dish but not overwhelm it (in my opinion), and delicious. I can appreciate a merchant who is concerned about offering healthy food choices; 1,000 stars for caring about people's diets. However, I tend to find that "healthy" and "flavorful" are rarely congruent. Not to be snarky, but one can't tout the health siren - and then have fresh-baked cookies (actually quite nummy) and a soda fountain! You know how they say some things sound better on paper? I ordered the pesto & sun-dried tomato chicken sandwich on focaccia baked right in front of my eyes - and could BARELY taste either. It was NOT at all nasty, but I didn't have a foodgasm either. Outstanding sandwich joint. This was our second time here as we need more than one sample to validate how legit a place is. We ordered the Santa Maria BBQ Chicken, Pesto Chicken, Moroccan sándwich and the Chimichurri Steak which were all on point. Portion are big enough that could be share for smaller appetites but you rather enjoy the whole thing. Another great location for Urbane! Their fresh made bread is perfect for sandwiches. I ordered the So-Cal sandwich and a cranberry and white chocolate cookie for dessert. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Just the right amount of avocado, chicken and the chipotle sauce is great. The salad is perfectly dressed with a balsamic vinaigrette and topped with some mandarin oranges and some sort of cheese. The cookie is AMAZING! I'm not much of a sweets person, but I find myself having to get one of their cookies every time I go there. My mother in law got the southwest sandwich, or something like that and she loved hers as well. Me and my family's opinion on Urbane Cafe: Meh. Probably not going there ever again. Just wanted a little insight that I hope will be helpful. Since my last visit here, I have never come back. My reasons are that the service is nothing special (why use loud and obnoxious buzzers instead of hand delivering it?), the environment in the kitchen looks a little tense, the food is boring AND hit or miss, and I find no incentives on returning. Perhaps add more options? Customization? I feel that the menu options are limited and concrete. read more

I'm not trying to throw people under the bus but Urbane needs to reevaluate their employees as customer service is bad. Was in town for meetings this week. During this time I had the pleasure of revisiting this location. First, let me say that the food is good BUT the few times I have been here the kind, amazing and efficient service is what keeps me returning. I have been here during times that were particularly busy. I will say that the young ladies working today when I was ordering were doing an amazing job. From my experience visiting this location I do feel that they should support their employees a little better. I have witnessed some very unkind customers while waiting. Some people just don't understand that things don't happen right when you want it, and you need to be patient. It is a shame considering that I see the employees really doing their best to provide kind, accurate and efficient service during such a rush. My food was prepared perfectly and I received it in a very timely manner. I will definitely return and I recommend trying the cilantro salad . read more

So glad I stopped here! At first I was questioning if I really wanted a sandwich for lunch. They can be a bit boring at times. The sandwiches here, however, are great. There are many options, including some vegetarian ones. I opted for the Southwest chicken and was really impressed. It was so flavorful and filling. A little on the spicy side, and pretty savory. The bread was also really good, which can make or break the sandwich. I love that the sandwiches come with a side salad rather than fries. All their ingredients tasted really fresh. This has become a go to place for my son and I. Good food, great service, kind team. Tonight I went in and was deciding between the Californian or the Tuscan sandwich. Samantha recommended the Californian and shared that i could have the artichokes steamed which was fabulous! Went here for lunch with some co-workers after hearing from them how much they liked it. I had seen it in passing, but never took the time to stop in. That being said, it was an overall enjoyable experience. Here's the not-so-good: first, there's literally 1 trash can in the entire restaurant (if you don't count the straw wrapper hole near the drink station). Given the size of the place, they need to add one near the back of the seating area as well. Also, their side salad that comes with the sandwiches. Sure, eating a pile of weeds with some non-descript dressing and some cheese crumbles might be OK for some people, but how about another option? Maybe a standard Caesar as well? That being said, those are the only things I can really complain about. Besides that, I got the Santa Maria BBQ chicken sandwich, and it was REALLY good! I was pleasantly surprised by their BBQ sauce (which I'm notoriously picky about), and the house-made focaccia bread was ridiculous. REALLY good! Another thing that was particularly pleasant about the sandwich was the chicken - it wasn't too dry or too moist, just the right balance. I was very happy with the sandwich. And, then there's the drinks - I tried a swig of their regular lemonade, which was really good. But, "Snozzberry" soda caught my eye, and while I've become somewhat of a minimal soda drinker as of late, I had to try it. I ended up going back for a refill for the road. The selection of some unique "craft" soda brand can really backfire, if you don't have a great product, or something that's just too far "out there". This was not the case; Snozzberry is like this great combo of black cherry, strawberry, and some other type of berry that I can't quite place (raspberry, maybe?). It combines for an excellent flavor that just can't be matched by anything else similar I've had. All in all, I really enjoyed my trip there, and definitely would go back; I'd recommend you give it a try! read more
