How is street parking in the surrounding area and are there any parking garages that URvet Care validates or has discounts with?

No parking lot, it's Midtown so better to take a bus or taxi if you can't walk to the destination. There's extremely limited street parking.

To have the entire staff be so caring, attending, comforting, and professional, is truly a one in a million situation. When I came in with an emergency with my little pup, Dr. Diego Milano kept a clear mind, an empathetic attitude, and a compassionate heart. He took such good care of my boy, my gratitude is too much to vocalize. once we were checked in to our room, he checked on my baby every 10-15 minutes, made sure both of us were ok, and stayed on top of our situation even though I heard multiple critical situations happening outside. He balanced everything so well and i really take my hat off to him. he was amazing. As for the overnight nurse, Caroline, I'm at a loss for words for how golden her heart is. She took such good care of both me and my baby. She understood the anxiety an owner feels going through this situation and went out of her way to ensure i was doing good too. she checked on my baby every 10 minutes. any time i needed to step away to use the bathroom, she stayed with my baby. she was so gentle and kind with him. you can tell shes doing her job out of passion and care. Shes one of a kind and truly a gem. I could cry just writing about the care she provided for us. When the shift changed to the daytime staff, I was a little worried about the transition and sad to see Caroline and Dr. Milano go. I was worried about who was going to take care of us now because of the genuine top tier care we had received, how could you match that? but. they did. Dr. Andre and nurse Christina were our doctor and nurse after the shift change. They were just as kind, just as compassionate, just as professional, and just as empathetic. They made the night to day transition so smooth. They were completely filled in, treated me with just as much respect and empathy, and had me crying tears of joy as I left this hospital. I can't speak enough kind words for this facility and the entire staff. Even when my nurse or doctor were helping other patients, other nurses made themselves readily available and willing to help me and my baby and make us feel comfortable and ok. This was truly one of the hardest nights of my entire life but this facility and the staff working here made it manageable. For the staff reading this, I thank you again and send you my kindest regards. You guys are truly angels and what you're doing is a beautiful thing and your hearts are made of gold. Thank you all.

I guess you could think of this place as an urgent care for pets, but only if your existing vet's…read moreoffice is closed. If your pet has an actual emergency, a complex health issue, or multiple health concerns, this is not the place. If you're in the UES, just go to the Animal Medical Center. I brought my cat here thinking maybe it would be OK, but I ended up waiting a minimum of 20 minutes without being seen. My own vet actually called me while I was there to follow-up regarding prior treatment. When I told him where I was, he advised me to go to the Animal Medical Center which is very close. The issue is that only one veterinarian available, so when you're seen depends on how busy it is. A bigger hospital has multiple vets and vet techs on staff, so they can see multiple animals at the same time. The staff was friendly, but they seem easily distracted and overly cheerful, like it was an office party. This is meant to be an ER. Sometimes you need people to be serious. They have a big board where they supposedly do triage, but I don't believe they really take pets according to level of care needed. For some reason, my pet's name never made it up onto the board, so I kept waiting for the vet to take a look. They kept saying they had really sick pets to see first. (My cat stayed at the AMC for 3 days and 2-3 nights.) Eventually I up and left because my cat needed to be seen right away and they kept skipping over us and telling us they'd get to us, which did not happen. When I was leaving, the receptionist was trying to get me to stay even though we were never seen. I really don't know what kind of health issues would warrant a visit here versus an actual vet emergency room. Having been to AMC, I can't say I would ever come back or recommend this type of facility.

Update July 26: We ended up at BluePearl again, this time because Ruben's breathing rate was…read moreunusually high. He had recently stopped taking his heart medication after his cardiologist determined that his heart condition had resolved. Once again, the staff quickly took him back and stabilized him. Then began the wait. BluePearl appears to triage patients based on urgency, and they were not noticeably but apparently busy that day. As a result, Ruben spent much of the day in an oxygenated cage, from about 9:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Thankfully, I did not have to stay there the entire time. In the end, the diagnosis was somewhat different from what we initially expected. Ruben does not have early congestive heart failure, as was suggested by the remote radiologist's preliminary interpretation. However, the team did take seriously the possibility of asthma, which had been raised by my cardiologist over the phone. I'm reducing my rating by half a star, bringing it to 4.5 stars. Overall, I believe Ruben received excellent care. The veterinarian listened carefully to my concerns about sedation and treated him thoughtfully. My main concern is staffing. It appeared that there was only one very busy veterinarian on duty, and she was unable to interpret the X-rays herself. As a result, several hours passed before the imaging could be completed, and then additional time was needed to obtain a reading from an off-site radiologist. I understand that Ruben was stable and that other patients may have required more urgent attention. Still, from my perspective, increased staffing might have allowed him to be evaluated sooner. Ruben is a good patient, but he does not enjoy veterinary visits, and spending nearly the entire day there was stressful for both of us. That said, BluePearl remains my first choice for emergency veterinary care. The staff are compassionate, and I continue to trust them when Ruben needs urgent treatment.

I showed the nurse right away and was told it could be an initial transfusion reaction. I was terrified and pleaded for help, but was told all tests had been completed and he was still sent home. The doctor never spoke to me. Over the next three hours, I watched him deteriorate -- breathing heavily, confused, and clearly in distress -- while I was completely powerless to help him in his time of need. No words can capture how painful and traumatic it was to witness. St. James lived such a beautiful, joyful life, and he deserved comfort and dignity at the end -- not this. We are left completely heartbroken and still without answers as to what caused his death.

What an incredible group of people!…read more My dog is susceptible to pneumonia and when he had a wet cough on a Sunday, I knew it couldn't wait for his primary vet on Monday. In the past we went ton other emergency vets and unfortunately it was always a long wait, you were away from your dog the entire time, and they wouldn't release your dog to you until after you paid. VEG is different than all those places. We were seen immediately and while they do have an open concept ER, they gave us a private room just in case. The nurse (Diana) and the vet (Dr. Schwartz) were all incredible. They took such good care of our dog and us! They allow you to be with your pet during X-rays which I found amazing. No paying first then waiting for your pet to be discharged. You're as hands on as you're comfortable being. Amazing place.

What is there to say besides don't trust this place with your pet, your time or your money…read more To say we had a negative experience would at this point be an understatement. The behavior this practice has exhibited has been avoidant, evasive and disappointing. I called distressed after my dog was having complications healing from surgery after a lipoma removal. We arrived on a busy Sunday and were taken at the end of a triage. During our time there I voiced to MULTIPLE techs that my dog was bleeding through his gauze. 2/3 responses were a deadpan stare and the words "ok". It took 3 times of me asking/ pleading for someone to listen to me. Even then I was armed with loose gauze and a wee wee pad. When we were finally seen I was so relieved i let this all fall away. I was so happy my pet was taken care of I went home following their orders and protocol. The next day I realized all the sutures at the site had fallen out and we were back at square one after spending hundreds of dollars. Naturally I was upset and placed a call to the location. I was placed on an infinite hold 3 times with no answer until i called from my friend's phone to which they picked up immediately. I have been calling every day since Monday with not a single person giving me a call back or without any financial compensation for the negligent job they did. I have given them since Monday to give me a call back and fix this. I've called every day without a call back. So if you don't care about your pets or spending unnecessary money this is the place for you!

This place, and the caring people in it, made a very difficult day more bearable…read more I came in knowing that I was going to have to put my almost sixteen year old cat down, and as we pet parents know, Sidney was more than a cat to me - he was family. He got me through some REALLY tough times over the past ten years, and honestly I'm not sure how I would have gotten through the pandemic without him. So knowing his time with me was coming to a close, I left it in his hands to tell me when it was time to go. And, unfortunately, that was the day he woke up and his eyes said simply, "Enough." The staff was attentive and kind from the jump. An examination revealed the options, but it was obvious that whatever was happening was quite serious - and I was given a breakdown of potential next steps. Of course with Sid's age, putting him down was also an option, and I already knew this is what we were going with. I did not receive any pressure to run any preliminary tests, procedures, or additional costs. I was simply told what the options were, and provided with an honest opinion of what the outcomes could be. And all options sucked. BUT it was obvious that the people helping me genuinely cared, and it made the heartbreak just a tiny bit easier. I had never had to do this before and I came in with Sid alone, so the vet guided me through what we were doing, what was next, and gave me ample time in between to say goodbye. Again, no real way to make these things less painful, but there was something in the attention and care I was receiving that made me feel like I wasn't going through it alone. The staff was going through it with me. I also received a beautiful card in the mail from them afterwards, hand-signed with a personal message from each - and this small gesture brought such warmth to my heart that I felt I had to share it. Highly recommend this place.

I spent 3+ hours there but it didn't feel like it. I was able to be by his side the entire time, there was hydration and snacks, and I was comfortable. I feel like every nurse checked in with us at least once. Even my cat felt chill enough after a while to curl up and nap in his large cage (they were quite busy and all rooms were taken). As off Feb '25 it was $200 for just the most basic care, for what it's worth, and in our situation it was very much worth it. They sent everything to my usual vet, including recommended follow up testing. Flippin' awesome and so helpful for moving forward after a terrible Sunday!

And, this was only after I had paid and was ready to walk out after almost 2 hours of waiting. ( I get that ERs can be busy, But really? As soon as I was leaving, they *sprang* into action.)
