Mickey who runs this place (single-handedly, BTW) is always, and I mean, always friendly, helpful, and efficient. He will help you figure out the best option: the quickest and the least expensive with proper packaging if necessary. Over the last five years whenever I have been Mickey is always behind the counter although I imagine there are other people behind the scenes. I've been coming to this Post Office for several years now and I must say, it's definitely getting a bit better. One thing you have to keep in mind is that this is not the main post office in town and does not have anywhere near as much staff as the Woodland Hills post office does. This tiny branch in Canoga Park usually has one, two if you are lucky, postal clerks assisting at the front counter. Lines can get about 8-10 customers deep, but I've never had to wait longer than 10 minutes for any of my postal needs. There is metered street parking off Jordan or along Sherman Way, but I always park in the free parking lot across the street off of Jordan Street (a quick minute walk across the road). If you are in need of a last minute gift, they do sell greeting cards for various occasions as well as gift cards to select businesses and restaurants. read more

This is hands down the best post office I've ever been to. The customer service is top notch! The guy working there, (I don't remember his name but he's got a beard and he speaks Spanish) has the best customer service I've ever encountered at any post office. He treats everyone with a smile and is so nice when you ask him any question. The older lady is also soooooo helpful!! You guys need to give these people a pay raise because when I say this is the best I've ever been treated at a post office, I mean it!! If you don't normally send out packages and you have no clue what your doing don't come here Paul is horrible he won't help and was super rude about any question I had. This is an older post office, with an old fashioned design that could use some renovation. However, it's a post office, so not likely to happen any faster than anything else does at the post office haha. It has a lot of mailboxes out front though, some of which can hold very large envelopes, so if you just need to drop something off, very convenient! read more

Something fishy going on at this post office location!! First time using them since moving to the neighborhood and mysteriously almost all packages go missing after being labeled "delivered." Those packages also have not been scanned using a geo location so they never know where they are. Hmmmm.....time to get consumer affairs to look into this corrupt office. Don't try to call this place or speak to a supervisor regarding something urgent. It just won't happen. After being on hold for 1 hr 2 min with the main USPS number, I find out the postal guy didn't deliver my package because the "address was incomplete" stating that there was no unit number... There was definitely a Unit # on the package... And it is now automatically sent directly back to sender (in SC) and I can't even get anyone on the phone at this location to stop that from happening. This is a smaller post office so the resources are not as much as the one on Canoga but overall it gets the job done. Great for a quick drop off Bad is the parking. There is NONE, only street metered parking. Lines can get long during their rush hour, other than that this place is dead. Literally ones of the oldest post offices I've ever been to. read more

This review isn't the for the actual post office, but since I had a horrible experience, I needed to put this here since this is where I sent it out. It all started out innocent enough. I sent a package on February 12th, 2 Day Priority from California to Oregon. I get it that sometimes it's a few days off, but that's ok with me. Since what was in there was fragile, I made sure to package it right, tape the heck out of it, write the correct address in big bold letters. When I went to drop it off, the woman even put the words Fragile all over the box. And that is when the adventure begin. My friend did not receive the gift until February 26th, almost two weeks later. Why did it take so long you ask? I'm trying to figure that out as well. This post office is stuck in the 1970's. There are no electronic machines to buy stamps, send small packages, or anything else so EVERYONE has to stand in line regardless of what you need. The line is usually 7-10 people deep and the best part, even though they have 3 registers, only one of them can make transactions so expect to stand in line for a good 20-30 minutes. read more

On September 17th 2015 at 2:00PM, I stood in the what seems like the "Always" long line at this post office. I waited approximately 15 minutes in line as there were only two service people. Once it was my turn, I gave the employee my envelope already filled out , along with three other pre paid already addressed envelopes. I asked for a return receipt. She handed me one and then proceeded to tell me that I needed to step to the side and fill out the "return receipt requested" . I informed her that I was on my lunch break and that I wouldn't be but 60 seconds to simply write on the form and give it to her for processing. She then told me NO , ask me to step aside & fill out the form and said that she were going to take the next customer behind me. I told her that I did not want to be late to work, she proceeded to assist the lady behind me while I stood there and filled out my form . It took me approximately 30 seconds to complete the form. The customer behind me took 10 minutes to complete her transaction. I then asked for her supervisor to complain. She walked away from her post , and the customer, 3 persons behind me then calls me a B, word. The supervisor comes out and not only tells me that he cannot help me process my transaction but that his employee had chosen not to help me and that I would have to wait for the next service worker whom had still been helping the elder woman next to me for over 25 minutes now. The same woman 3 people behind me began to antagonize me by saying that I was rude for not wanting to wait when I was asked to. When I began to respond to the woman and defend my experience that had absolutely nothing to do with her. The supervisor Eric then asked me to leave and told me that I could not mail my items he said that he was going to have me removed from the premises. I at this point I were now late for work, and I feel that the woman behind me should have been asked to leave. I will never return to this post office. Eric the supervisor , never apologized for his employees behavior regarding the lack of customer service that was shown to me. Nor did he once ask the woman behind me to stop yelling at me and antagonizing me. He instead denied me service at a US Post office and escorted me out . This was not only an embarrassing experience, but it certainly gives this post office a bad name. read more

They lost my certified letter that was traveling about 13 miles. They offer no explanation and (of course) are about as remorseful as a bag of maggots. Back in October I sent something to China and they 'lost' that as well only to have it return back to me a few months later with no explanation. Fool me twice..... I have always been an advocate and supporter of the Post Office but after these two terrible experiences, I will not be doing business with them or giving even One Red Cent of my hard earned cash ever again. Damm, third time's a charm... I put in a change of address 12 days ago and still have not received mail. Called the 800 number and after a 42 minute wait on hold, the only thing my Public Servant could tell me is that I have to call the local office. I've been calling numerous times over the last 4 days and all the phone does is ring and ring and ring and ring until the call cuts off (haven't timed it but around 3-4 minutes per call) and no one EVER answers. I'ver even faxed them asking that they answer the phone *yes I'm desperate* to no avail. I feel as though I am an experiment to observe a seemingly normal person literally "Going Postal".
