Tried to renew my PO box online. Said I failed 3 times to enter in the correct info. (I have had it for a year now) It then tells you to contact your local [post office where your po box is. Now if anyone knows this post office the line is always 30 mins plus and the people there are about as friendly as a broken doorknob. I will give them credit they answered the phone really quick to my pleasant surprise. Then Nate C. gets on the phone. I asked "due to the fact the lines are always long in the office, can you help me figure out how to pay online for my po box?" He says "You need to come into the office" I said "As I just explained I do not want to come in so can you tell me how to pay online or over the phone? He says "you cant pay over the phone" I replied "So can you tell me why its not working online" He says "you cant pay online" I said "so why did I get a thing in the mail that reads (you can make payment by any of the following convenient options by credit cards go to www.usps.com/pobxes etc)" He says "Oh I dont know how to do that" I said "ok please get your manager" 3 mins later "Hello how can I help" I re explain He says I dont know how. I said "arent you the manager" He says "no I tried to find him but hes gone" I reply "whats their name" He says Bill. Whats bills last name? He says Hold on hey whats bills last name" Its Bill Bd. I said when does Bill get back? He says I have no idea. I asked a third time so who can help me? He says I don't know. I had a very negative experience with this post office. I buy and sell clothing online, and I get prepaid labels sent to me via email then I print them and send out the package! This particular day my printer wasn't working, so I assumed there would be an option to email them the label or print it there. I arrived with my package and approached the woman at the counter who was the supervisor and explained my situation. She informed me that there was no way they could get my label to me and that the only way she could send it out what if I paid a $18 shipping fee. Here's the kicker-- she had the worst attitude of any employee I have ever seen before. Instead of being polite and apologetic about the situation (which I would've completely understood and moved on about) she was seemingly annoyed that I even dared to ask about my issue. The entire situation was handled Very Poorly. She did not leave me feeling informed about the situation, but rather livid because it was clear she was not in the mood to even speak to people on this given day. Quite frankly, every time I go to this location I feel as though all the employees hate their job and clearly don't want to be there. This is a fantastic Post Office. All of the people here are really nice. They are fast, too! I don't know how many times I've been in there and there has been about 7 or 8 people in line and either one or two people working and it takes about 5 minutes to get to the front of the line! Benjamin is a very personable postal worker. We enjoy small talk and a little banter each time. He was a navy seaman and has some cool stories. He's very friendly and makes going to the Post Office a fun experience. I highly recommend this Post Office. I don't think I'd change a thing. Thanks, guys. read more

I go to this post office 3 times a week, and they have earned my respect. First, Does any of you low raters want to be a postal worker? I didn't think so. Give them a break! Low staffed, and working in P.B. with customers who are usually stuck up, impatient, demanding, and rude. And oh yeah, obviously low intelligence, or at least that girl who went in ON DECEMBER 17TH and complained about the wait. Really? Its F**king Christmas, and you wonder why there's a line? they are loosing funding, and you wonder why there are only 2-3 people working? If I could give this place negative stars I would. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. I have never had a good experience here. Today I was on hold for AN HOUR to try and get them to stop delivery on a package. Someone picked up the phone placed me on hold and after a little over an hour just picked up and hung up. I called on and off for the next hour until I had to leave work to come in to intercept the package. While in the line I called the store and watched several employees walk by the phone listening to it ring and not do anything. When I was helped I told them what happened and the woman helping me laughed. I asked if it's common practice to no pick up the phone and she said no call the supervisors are usually good at it. All they needed to do was take down my name, tracking and address to intercept the package and, hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. I don't mind that there is always a line, or even that the workers are not overly friendly, or even that when I'm being waited on that the worker will stop helping me to have a personal conversation. I DO have a problem with whoever I spoke with on the phone hanging up on me! AND with my package not arriving with no refund. On Monday I paid for 2-day shipping. On Friday, my friend called to say that my package had still not arrived to her in Michigan. I was out of town at that time on Friday, so I called the PB Post Office, explained my situation, and asked if they could look up my tracking number. I was put on hold for 10 minutes. The same person comes back on the phone as if we hadn't spoke. I explained my situation again, and this guy says he can't help, and that maybe next time I should be more responsible. I couldn't BELIEVE the audacity! I asked for his name to which he abruptly hung up on me. The next Monday, my friend called to say the package had STILL not arrived, so it had now been a week when I paid for 2-day shipping. On Tuesday, I go into the PB post office, give the woman my tracking number and she says it should hopefully (HOPEFULLY!) arrive by Wednesday. I asked for a refund, since I paid for 2-day shipping and it had now been over a week and the package still had not arrived. She said NO because 2-day shipping is considered "express" and only "priority" had a guaranteed arrival date, so "2 days is just an estimate". I was so frustrated that I just left. I plan on calling corporate customer service and maybe they can help. This post office needs to retrain their employees on customer service skills. USPS has lost a customer, I will be switching to another mailing service. read more

I've been trying to call since they opened at 8:30am they just don't ever pick up their phones! After it continuously rang, I decided to try a little later. Now the phone line has been "busy" for over three hours. They don't even have a voicemail set up to leave a message or call back number. I live one block away and they consistently give me my neighbors mail & packages. I even posted my last name on the outside of my mail box with my house number to try to make it a little more clear for them. Somehow, my neighbors still get my mail and I get theirs. Shut it down, put a sign in front directing folks to go to the nearest ups or fed ex store and be done with it. They lost my package, it took hours to get a response, then they called and said it was found in the regional LA office and would be delivered soon. That was like 5 days ago. This location never has enough workers working the counters. There are always long lines even at off hours and off season times. The workers are friendly, but the wait just ruins this place. I come here about twice a week and usually wait at least ten minutes each time. I have started using the post office in Mission Valley when I am over there and it is much better. I mailed 204 lbs. of audio tape and the agent had to hoist every 33-lb. box up onto the scale and then down into a deep rolling bin -- couldn't have been easy on the lower back. They are terrific in person, and so is our carrier, but I NEEDED to phone them today, and was put on hold for TWO HOURS!!! (No, I am not making this up.) Finally, I hung up, then returned and started calling anew, and I was repeatedly cut off. I simply do not understand! This did not used to be an issue; I would phone with a question and someone would answer within a reasonable amount of time. I would happily trot down to the PO, but this concerns a parcel that WAS to have been delivered and requires a signature, but was not, so I'm afraid to leave, lest it arrives later (later than the mail delivery). This post office is my local office and is conveniently located not too far from my area. I've been here a few times to pick up missed packages and pick up held mail. Since I've been coming here I really haven't had any issues. I usually come in a little after they open just to avoid the crazy lines that build up toward the end of the day. The mail clerks that I have dealt with seem very friendly and one even assisted me while I was in line to see if he could do anything that didn't require any purchasing of stamps/packages. The parking lot is kinda small, but there's plenty of street parking if ever the lot gets full. read more

You wonder why the postal service isn't doing so well and gets a bad rap? Overworked, thankless employees who are poorly trained in customer service. I was turned away for not having my mailing label on the package tight enough. Could the clerk have let me borrow some tape? No. He said I had to pay for it. Saturday morning I get note in my mailbox that a package will be waiting for me at the post office Monday evening. Seems normal except we were HOME and NEVER got a knock on our door for the package and I was leaving out of town Monday morning and wanted to take it with me. I go to the post office around 11am that day, shortly after our mailman left the notice. I get told they will call him and have him redeliver the package. Awesome! Except it never comes. Back in town 2 days later and I check online when the post office closes. 6pm. Get there at 545 and it's closed. Only the self service part is open till 6. Maybe mention that?!!! This post office almost always has a line when I go to it. The staff is friendly and willing to help. I wish that they had more tellers regularly to get the lines moving faster but that seems to be the way it goes at most post offices. I've found it best to go around lunch time.
