I am submitting this formal complaint regarding an unresolved mail delivery problem affecting a group mailbox serving five units in a secured condominium building with a total of 24 units located in Sherman Oaks, CA 91423, 4454 Ventura Canyon Ave. For approximately two and a half months, the group mailbox for these five units has not been functioning properly. The lock on the mailbox was changed to a lock that apparently belongs to a different city, and as a result, the assigned letter carrier does not have the correct key to access the mailbox (Please, see the attached photo). This has caused a prolonged disruption in regular mail delivery for the affected residents. I have contacted the local USPS office and spoke with the delivery manager, Michael, on four separate occasions regarding this matter. Despite these conversations and repeated requests for assistance, the issue remains unresolved, and the affected residents continue to experience problems receiving their mail. This situation is unacceptable because residents, predominantly elderly people over the age of seventy, depend on timely and reliable mail delivery for important correspondence, medications, bills, notices, and other essential documents. They are forced to visit the post office located 2.8 miles away in person, waiting in line for up to 40 minutes. The problem appears to be administrative or operational in nature and should not have remained unresolved for such an extended period. read more

Local LA Valley/SFV US post office in Sherman Oaks California. I often drop my outgoing mail off here and purchase stamps. They have tons of P.O. Boxes and friendly staff. I'd often go with an ex here to drop off Christmas cards around the holidays and it was a pretty smooth experience and now that I live in the area I find myself frequenting them mainly on foot because whoever designed this parking lot I'm not sure if we should hug you or just stare in disbelief... It's one way in (entering from Magnolia Blvd) and out (onto Kester Avenue) which makes for better traffic flow... It's great in a lot of ways except if you're headed back the way you came in or opposite in the direction of the exit. The hours are pretty short and sweet (8:30 AM - 5:30 PM) so it's not ideal for those getting off work and hoping to get postal service inside. USPS - Sherman Oaks is open Saturdays as well 9 AM to 5 PM. They can be slower to open in the morning, but I know this to be true at many postal places so I don't hold that against them. If you're local or in the area you'll get what you need and relatively smooth + efficiently. Please appreciate your essential workers at your local USPS all year long and on National Postal Workers Day (July 1st of every year). read more

Worst USPS I've been to. First Monday open after the new year, their hours say 8:30AM, there was a long line out the door at 8:30 but doors didn't open until around 8:37. After opening, they only had one cashier working. Second one didn't show up to work until 8:50 slowly walking in and couldn't even remember her password to login and was about to get locked out. I was in the area and needed a post office to go to on my way back home. My maps directed to this one which was easy to get into, good size parking lot and a clean inside. I walked in dropped off my pre paid package and left. There was a line to mail packages but it seemed like it was moving quick for a weekday. My only issue was when leaving I wanted to make a left as I needed to get the fwy and I wasn't trying to circle the block. Disappointing. This grade covers the last ten years or so. Staff isn't too happy showing you stamps that are available. Lines are slow moving. You have to go early, or no parking spots are available. The drive-by mailboxes for dropping mail from your driver's side window are helpful, when they're not padlocked shut, which is almost always true, especially in the early mornings. Their kiosk froze when I was buying postage for my package, charging me $22, so I went to the front desk to get my self sorted and they made me pay $22 again and said there was nothing they could do about giving me a refund. If you live in Studio City/Sherman Oaks this is the Post Office you want to use. There is more parking than the Studio City location, and more tellers open than the Valley Village location. Well my review is basically over. Seriously though, this post office is worth the extra five minutes for you to drive here, even if your closer to another location. You won't have to wait in an abysmally long line, and you'll be in and out in a jiff. Also, they have a VERY large parking lot with more than enough space for you to park. The only downside is that there's only one way in and out. So be ready for that. Cannot recommend this location enough. read more

12/30/22, Friday. This review is in regards to the awesome service provided to me by Mr. Harry whom has been serving USPS for years. It was almost closing, and I was frantically trying to send 4 packages. One youngish lady, Latina, adamantly told me that they could not help me seal my envelopes, and that I had to purchase their tape. She also told me they were out of international slips, and I couldn't send my package to Canada. Rude. Not helpful at all. Another older lady told me I could wait for the gentleman that helped me tape my packages last time. And, so I did. Mr. Harry was awesome. Helped seal my envelopes. Gave me labels to write my addresses. Determined the most convenient prices, but also which would make for shorter delivery. He even said he could send my package to Quebec..! In and out in 5 min or so. So thankful for employees like him. A real gem. Thank you, Mr. Harry, for being an excellent example and helpful worker! read more

Extremely slow in the mornings, they open at 8:30am but more often than not their actual opening time is 2-4 minutes after 8:30am, also they have an old guy at the register first thing in the morning, he often makes mistakes inputting the address so after 5 minutes he has to start the process all over again, then there's another female that joins the team but up to 12-15 minutes after opening time, so it's a daily occurrence for the line to be super long for the first 30 minutes up to the first hour, not acceptable. read more

I have had multiple concerns regarding one of the staff at this location. A mailman who would sit on my property directly in front of my door during his 'break' made me feel uncomfortable so I contacted his superiors about it. He continues to sit in the neighbors property. Since the complaint, he folds my regular sized mail in half, everyday, as well as placing any large newspaper ads directly on my patio to blow around my yard. The supervisor has made no efforts to reprimand this employee. I know he is deliberately damaging my mail due to my complaint. I am ignored via email. I have my personal mail being damaged, and the mailman litters in my yard. I have video footage and would appreciate if a manager would do something about this employee. read more

Had to help my boyfriend think like a millennial - often our thought process is a bit different. He was ready to wait in an extremely long line to do something he can very well do on his own via their self service machine. Cut our wait time in at least half or more. I probably should have used the machine for him, whatever it got done! Holiday gifts have shipped. If all the old people in line would think a tad bit differently this location may not have the lengthy lines they do.
