Where is my mail? The review is not so much for the office but the post man that work out of this office. For the second time (that I am aware of) my mail is missing and according to my bank someone has tried to use my new credit card several times. My mail box is empty and there is no notice where my mail was taken. Yes this complaint is going as far to the top as It can possibly go... 1 Star, minus 1. I've been in this area for a year. You have a less than 50% chance of receiving any package you're expecting from this office. They will mark items as delivered when they have not been. They will leave redeliver notices for an "attempted delivery" when no such attempt has been made. They also make a habit of delivering mail to the WRONG apartment numbers. They will make it really hard to get answers in regards to your missing property from an actual person. When you finally do talk to a human they'll absolve themselves of any responsibility. It's really hard to b.s. a person who WORKS FROM HOME (me)and lives in a bldg that has video surveillance of all areas including the mailboxes. Unfortunately, these are feelings and experiences had by most of my neighbors who have had the misfortune of expecting a delivery from this usps office. If you're reading this and this is your carrier's base, pay extra to get expedited shipping with another service. read more

Wonderful post office easy in, easy out. Enter on Magnolia exit on Kester. Lines can be long at times but nothing out of the ordinary for US Post Office. The staff here is friendly and helpful, also there are automated machines for doing your own Priority Mail packaging. Brilliant post office! read more

I've been living in Sherman Oaks for over one year and I've been coming to this post office. The service is amazing and the staff is very customer oriented. There's nothing like receiving good customer service and the staff here knows what good service it. I feel really comfortable here and it feels good interacting with this post office and supporting the US postal system in our country. The staff today was amazing! I arrived just a few minutes before the end of the business day needing to get the tracking records from an old package that I shipped over a month ago. The folks behind the counter don't have access to this info, but the nice lady took my receipt back to someone else who was able to look it up and print it out for me. I've had postal workers try to brush me off before for weird requests like this before, so I really appreciated them helping me, because there was nothing else I could have done to get the info I needed. This location is close to me and where I work so that's why I choose it. The people there are pretty friendly which is refreshing. You don't feel like a number when you talk to them. I mean these things are straightforward pretty much. It's a nice but sometimes busy location. FYI they are open on Saturdays. read more

There has never been a moment in my life where I've had a positive experience at any Government-ran venue. That is, till I came to the Sherman Oaks Post Office! I've been here on three separate occasions now. Each time the lobby area is immaculately clean, and the employees are all efficient and unbelievably pleasant. Nancy, in particular, is always such a pleasure to work with. She goes out of her way to find out how your day is going and helping you with any of your shipping related questions. I went to change forwarding address, however they didn't complete my request. I called to confirm, but nothing has been done. Diane indicated she is supervisor and she is in charge of this station. She is yelling at me that she is nothing to do with it and I need to come to station. When I asked if I can speak to her supervisor visit since I am out of town. She said there is no one. Now all my mails are going to wrong address because someone didn't do their job!!!! And their supervisor Diane is nothing to do with it l!!!! I've been in here quite a few times over the last 2 years and each time my experience was pleasant enough. Sometimes the lines were ridiculously long but there was staff at almost every window. The people are nice. The new kiosks are horrible! I loved using the kiosks. They are fast and easy but the new ones DON'T WORK. 1st time I used one it didn't give me the stamps I paid for. Had to go to front with my receipt. 2nd time it would not let me put in an address number and froze. Why are we putting in all this info anyway? It's on the envelope/package! Zip code should be enough. I feel they will ask for my driver's license next. All this info inputting wastes time and creates longer lines. read more

This is the best post office I have ever been to. Everyone, EVERYONE was kind, courteous, and knowledgable. The line moves along quickly and there is a wonderful supervisor that ensures you're being taken care of and all of my questions were answered. Vacation hold - how hard can it be? I go online and tell you how long to hold my mail, and I come to the post office to pick it up. Evidently it's very difficult. Waited in line today for 20 minutes to pick up my mail after having filled out the form last week on line. I even printed out the form with my confirmation number on it and brought it in. After much searching - guess what? No mail. They didn't hold it. It's all stuffed in my mailbox! Thanks a lot! Now can I have that 20 minutes that I spent in your line? read more

I live in Simi Valley but work in Sherman Oaks and I will always come here. They know what they are doing. Unfortunately the Simi Valley does not. I went to the Simi Valley to mail my wedding invitations and they couldn't figure how much to charge me. They went from 91 cent to $2.32. So I came here and they quickly stated 91 cents...no problem. Plus they are much nicer then the Simi Valley location. read more

i have never had a good experience at any post office. even the first time i came here the woman that i spoke to was extremely rude and didn't even try to help me with my very simple problem. but, i went back about a week later and spoke with a man at the self service desk. he was so friendly and helpful and did everything he could to make sure i left happy! he ended up finding a package for me that i thought had been lost forever!!! Every time I come to this location, I have a great experience and it is mostly due to the excellent customer service. On occasion, I've had to wait in a long line (like most post office visits) but I'm always greeted politely by the staff thanking me for waiting patiently. Most of the cashier stations are in use. (hate when there is a long line and only two people working behind the desks). The older gentleman is always warm and has an easy going personality. Overall - very pleasant staff. read more

Just pick up a package of books I sent to myself cross-country, missing a lot of books. Looks as though the package was ripped open and tapped back up, could be on accident but none the less still missing a lot my my comic books and book collection. Probably should have known better...sigh... Upon receiving the package that was all taped up I asked the guy about it and through a smirk he said "must have been caught in the machinery". I had a good experience at this location. I usually come to this post office instead of the other location that is closer to me because I don't have to wait in line. The self service station makes it so easy and saves me so much time. I was there for all of a few minutes instead of the long line and it was great. I will be back. read more

I'm really disappointed with this place. I moved a few months ago and submitted change of address form at this location. Interestingly, we moved within the same zip code and are being served by the same post office. Three months following our move, we had a parcel sent to our old address. Instead of routing our parcel to the new address, they delivered it the old address. New residents did not return the parcel back to the mailman. Now we're out of the item and no one wants to take responsibility. :( read more

Avoid this branch at all costs. They have a serious issue with loss and possibly theft. I purchased money orders at this branch earlier this month. I put them and a letter in a stamped security envelope addressed to a PO Boxholder AT THIS POST OFFICE. I politely asked a Postal Clerk to please hand-cancel the stamp and put the letter IN A PO BOX AT THIS POST OFFICE. Apparently 60 feet is too far to walk; the clerk put the letter on a slow truck to Santa Clarita (or China or Russia or North Korea). More than two weeks later the money orders are still seemingly lost forever, never to be seen again. In the meantime I am out thousands of dollars while the Postal Service spends months "investigating." The Station Manager's feeble explanations for this incident are completely bogus and baffling. Unless you want your outgoing mail or mail in your PO Box here potentially lost or stolen, go elsewhere! read more

Horrible ! I stayed home all day with my phone attached to my hip waiting for my package and the lazy mailman did not even attempt to take my package to the door . Instead the lazy mailman put the slip in my mailbox to pick up at the post office . Second time ! Unbelievable! read more

This post office is really badly managed. The person managing this location is a pompous snob but worse, is that it is usually understaffed. Just this morning, there was a line of 12-14 people with two clerks working. At one point, they both left their posts for about 5 minutes and there was NOBODY behind the counter...with a long line. What kind of message does that send to customers. This has happened on a more than a few visits. In this area, use the Van Nuys post office on Van Nuys @ Delano. Pay the .25 to park. Usually well staffed but best yet, hardly anyone ever uses the automatic postal machine so if you're shipping domestically, you're in and out fast. read more

If you have any wondered why the Postal Service is going bankrupt, simply take a run over to the Sherman Oaks branch and all your questions will be answered! This is the worst managed post office I've ever encountered. They are ALWAYS severely understaffed and mismanaged which means at times, as much as a 45-minute to one hour wait for the customer. When you finally do reach a teller, they are generally very kind and cordial. It's the management of this specific branch that fails to perform their job function adequately. If you should manage to speak with a manager, they are always curt, give you lame excuses and all with plenty of attitude. I frequently watch as customer's bail from the line after waiting an absurd amount of time. If you have need for postal service and are in the Sherman Oaks area, find yourself a Pony Express office. Take my word for it, it will be MUCH faster!!! read more

There is a lady with Versace eyeglasses who is unbelievably rude. She should be in the back sorting stuff instead of assisting customers in the front. She's not friendly or very assisting. WORST customer service!!! They can never give you a definite answer. Their famous line is "I have another call, which came in before yours." Full of crap!! I left a note at my mailbox to just leave the parcel at the front door on the next delivery. The next day, my note was gone and parcel was not redelivered. I waited for 4 days, nothing still. I called and ask about the status. The person on the other line confirmed that they do not redeliver and the parcel is in the facility ready for pick up. Guess what, when I get there I was told the parcel isn't there. I was advised to check my mail, may be they had it delivered. The lady offered to call me back tomorrow after she confirms it with the mailman. When I got home, I called to let them know i got some of my mail and not the parcel. And the same guy who answered my call earlier had the same line. Avoiding to offer any help nor confrontation. I just hope they didn't lose the parcel. Waist of time dealing with these people. I strongly suggest not to go to this location. read more

First time there, and really liked their clean and big facility. I was trying to get my refund from a money order I purchased a while back. Since I had done it at other locations, I assumed that a location like this would have enough cash for the refund. The person who helped me showed no smile, no greeting, just sitting there looking at me coldly. After I told her that I needed a refund for the money order, she quickly replied me with "I don't have any". I was like, Really? You don't even check your cash box and just rejected me like this? I didn't move. I asked her to check with others. This is how it had happened at other locations. If one doesn't have enough cash, they would ask others to gather enough money to give me refund. It's right way of helping a customer. She looked at me with no patience whatsoever and said "I was the first one to be here. If I don't have cash, nobody would". I was outraged. Really? This is the service USPS provides? No wonder they are broke. I insisted that she checked with others. She gave me a really dirty look and then asked. No surprise, the person who worked next to her had enough cash! If I didn't insist, I just wasted my trip and waiting in line. Can't believe that people like her just won't do their job right. Before I left, I checked her name tag, her name is Marisol. USPS, it's time to clean up your lazy and ignorant employees like Marisol! read more

If u could give a 0 star I would. Never trust this post office, i ordered an iPad mini and the tracking info says it's been delivered but of course it never arrived to my doorstep even when someone was home at the time of the said delivery. I went to the post office and they kept telling me that Sydney wasn't there and to just call her and no one answers the phone. I got a call back from Sydney and told me to just file a claim since she talked to the carrier and he said that he delivered it to my doorstep. WOW!! I talked to the carrier the following day and he said he can't even remember if he did because of how many packages they get. All they tell me is just file a claim. It's their responsibility to make sure our packages are safe with them but We can't even put our trust in them. Very disappointed. read more

I just read Kak L's review and I have come to the same conclusion. I mailed an International package from this facility and it has been lost and no tracking is available. I believe the post office staff has a thief. I will not be returning to this shady post office. I've been mailing packages internationally to the same address for over 15 years using USPS and this is the first time a package has been lost and unaccounted for. I call total BS on them. you get mail that is not yours, you write "incorrect address, return to sender", and they keep sending it back to you because they printed a barcode on it and no one looks at your message. It is no surprise that their business isn't doing so well. read more
