Hate to do this to any restaurant following the pandemic. I heard so many great things about this restaurant and was looking forward eating here on our way back from Bonita Springs. As soon as we arrived, we were seated immediately and our server was very nice. However we order the fried grouper starter with mango sauce. The grouper and sauce was ok but was covered in red cabbage. You could barely get to me the fish. We then had the hogfish which was just ok and the shrimp/lobster pasta which was bland. Eh. My husband found this place on Yelp and we were both super excited to take the kids here after reading the good reviews. We made reservations and arrived a little early. Our table wasn't ready yet, but that was ok! After we did sit down I felt SO rushed! Our waiter immediately came over and was pressuring us for a drink order. I mean we hadn't even opened the drink menu yet! After we ordered our drinks and an appetizer along with the kids meals. We figured we had a little time to play a short game with the kids, but NOPE here come the kids meals with our drinks. While I appreciate them being responsive on the kids meals, we hadn't even received our app yet. Now I was dreading when we ordered our dinner and then the kids just have to sit there and try and wait patiently for the adults to eat. Maybe it was just an off night? I was here for dinner a few years ago and ordered their signature dish the miso sea bass which was phenomenal. Truly memorable. However I came in for lunch and ordered the same dish and it did not taste the same. Still very delicious and the sea bass was literally cooked perfectly, however the sauce had too much miso and not enough butter, so the miso overpowered the delicate dish. Not sure why they did not nail a dish that they are known for and make the most. I will still be back as this is one of the best seafood restaurants in Naples. We hadn't been to Nemo's in several years, and were pleased to see how the interior was redone with many booths. Our time spent there was amazing from start to finish. I enjoyed the lemon drop martini, and the little platter of hummus/seaweed salad/etc. as starters. Both of us had the signature sea bass....it melted in your mouth, and had such an amazing flavor! We came to Naples just for the weekend and after seeing how USS Nemo is highly rated on Yelp, we decided to give it a try. Upon arriving, it was actually pretty packed. The indoor dining area is very crowded. We were seated at a very small table that was sandwiched between two other tables very closely. It's a very loud atmosphere but that didn't bother us much. Now, for the food. I was very confused with what came our first. Complimentary bread with butter.... Then a plate of a very random mix of things. Some sort of pickled slaw which our waitress called kimchi but it was not kimchi. Then there were slices of Ginger. Then some seaweed salad. I see they were trying to go with an Asian theme but then.... A big dollop of hummus. It was all so confusing. The items weren't bad, just a very strange mix to have served with a bread basket. For our entrees we had the Ultimate Miso Sea Bass and the Volcano Yellowtail Snapper (Spicy). These were the most disappointing. To start - the Volcano Yellowtail... the fish was completely over cooked. It had the texture of an omelet. It was so spongy and eggy. There was zero hint of fish in it. The "spicy" was just a lot of hot sauce thrown onto the fish. I can't remember exactly what kind of hot sauce... it's definitely familiar. Maybe cholula. It was not good at all. In Japan we have a dish called Omurice. It's literally an omelet on top of rice topped with ketchup. This "yellowtail snapper" dish was just that. I was so disappointed. I've never had fish with that texture. Now the Ultimate Miso Sea Bass had a whole different texture going on. Even though it wasn't spongy, it was so odd. It melted in my mouth but not in a good way. It's hard to explain what was going on. It wasn't cooked properly or maybe it wasn't fresh. But it was very disappointing. Given the reviews, we really expected a much better experience. I do not recommend if you're going for seafood. I'm now fully convinced that good seafood only exists in the Keys. read more

We really enjoyed our visit to USS Nemo. They are very kid friendly with table covers they can draw on, an excellent kids menu and it's loud enough where the kids aren't noticed. The food overall was delicious. The brisket and pork belly were outstanding. The sea bass was surprisingly our least favorite with a slightly fishy flavor. The kids salmon and tacos were great. Had a delicious meal here with my family! I started with the nemo tomato salad which was very fresh. I had to order a shirley temple off the kids menu since no cocktails for me at the moment. This place is unassuming and casual with its strip mall location and submarine-themed decor. Don't let that fool you though, because the food is SUPERB. Their signature Nemo's ultimate miso sea bass with their house citrus-ginger butter sauce was phenomenal and honestly one of the best seafood dishes I've ever had and I've been blessed to patronize numerous Michelin star restaurants (FWIW). Their garlic lover steamed Florida clams starter was also phenomenal; the broth was the most delicious clam or mussel cream sauce I've ever had. It was like food crack--so, so good. The goat cheese & tuna tartare starter was also a standout. The service is also very good. They only serve wine and beer, however they do a really impressive job of pushing the boundaries of a limited liquor license by making very creative and delicious wine-based/low alcohol cocktails. 2/25/2017 - Drove all the way to Naples to come here. The food, service and ambiance surpassed my expectations. We arrived at a shopping center where the restaurant is located. It was packed. We had a reservation at 9:15 p.m. and were seated right away. At first I noticed it is a medium size restaurant and they use every space available for tables. Our table was a half booth running along the wall of the restaurant, and half table. It was so close to the other tables that they had to pull the table out. It was a little uncomfortable as we could hear everyone's conversation. BUT, as soon as the food came, I didn't care. The food was that good! At first we ordered the Far Niente, Chardonnay. For starters, we ordered the Goat Cheese & Tuna Tartar, served with croutons ($14.95) and the Seafood Ceviche, sea bass, shrimp, snapper, octopus, grilled pineapple ginger and lime juice ($9.95). These dishes were not only delicious but were visually appealing. It was Food Art!. For entrees we ordered the MACADAMIA NUT ENCRUSTED BLACK GROUPER, melon-lavender risotto, sauteed green leaves, five spices and verjus gastrique sauce, ($28.95). The other entree I want to say it was Halibut or it could of been the Seabass Miso. (see pictures). My favorite dish was the grouper, it was flaky and the flavors of the sauce and risotto complimented this dish. For dessert, WARM NUT-PEAR BREAD PUDDING, with nutmeg sauce. I have been wanting to try this place for years. We were in Naples by pure chance so stopped for a quick lunch. The first only real con is that going inside was a major disappointment. The tables are crammed so close together that it was very uncomfortable. I couldn't relax because I was crammed two inches away from another table. We started out with the hot crunchy grouper. It had crispy grouper with mango, nuts, pomagrante. It was unique, flavorful, and out of this world!!! I also had the crispy fish tacos which were also delicious!!! The food was definitely above average, but the coleslaw was mediocre at best. If they lose a few tables then this place could be five stars. The service and food are delicious. I decided to take my parents here to impress them, I hoped we would be able to try the blue fin tuna but they sold out and I instead chose the yellowfin tuna. Regardless the tuna is prime quality and is absolutely worth every cent. You won't have tuna this good at just any place. Also the way they designed the dish is really something special. They crust the tuna in sesame seeds and add two fried rice patties and seaweed salad. Just, perfect. Server did a good job and we sat outside, weather was very pleasant. We made a reservation and came here for my birthday dinner, based on the reviews online. Parking is a little tight on a Friday night but we found a spot. Once inside there's about a 5 foot alcove and no waiting space. The place was packed and loud. After we waited for the hostess to address and seat the party ahead of us, we mentioned our reservation. I used Yelp actually and noted we preferred outside if possible, and that it was my birthday. She says oh, you wanted outside, right? "Sure, if its available". Oh, I just sat the last table with a party that didnt have a reservation! Then she walks off, clearly scrambling to find an open table for us. (Also, we were on time...) we finally get sat at a small 2 top wedged between 2 other tables, like a 4 top split up with barely a human sized space in between. No apology, no happy birthday, not even "enjoy your meal". Not a good start. Luckily, it was better after that. Our server (Alexandra, I believe) was attentive. We started with fried calamari, which was cooked perfectly, light and crispy, and came with tasty dipping sauces. My husband got the grouper bowl, which he loved and nearly licked clean. I got the prime tuna in the west preparation, with mashed potatoes, asparagus, spinach, and mushrooms. It was cooked perfectly and was similar to a steak- a new type of dish for me, it was awesome. I hate to not give 5 stars, but the issue with seating was bizarre and frustrating. Why take reservations if you don't honor them? I also will note it was VERY loud. Very happy with our first visit to USS Nemo! I have a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating - they had gluten free bread to start, and then an extensive GF menu to order from. We had the poke bowl and the grouper and both were delicious. Staff was very friendly, nice upbeat atmosphere.
