Really good pizza, once you have this it's difficult to go back to the fast food options lol

There was a time when this was one of our favorite spots in town. My friends were visiting from out of state and I had to bring them here. 6 adults 3 kids. My review is mainly around service. We weren't greeted when we entered and were also told "this is your only option" so we had to get seated by the door. No, the restaurant wasn't crowded or busy but seemed short staffed rather. And this is just the same guy who would bring our pizza out with so much aggression and not even have an eye contact. Yes we needed plates but he wouldn't even look at us. I was just very upset and no, the food didn't make up for this service. It isn't like how it used to be! read more

Six of us came here for dinner on a Thursday night. VERY loud, several of us couldn't hear any of the conversation at the table. Everyone had their drink when I arrived and when the waitress came she asked what I wanted. I ordered sweet tea. Never got it but you can bet it was on my ticket. Very rushed to order...asked for a pizza with ground beef. We don't have ground beef she said. No suggestions on what else to order. Saw sliced meatball listed so ordered that....is that not ground beef? If not, what is it? Made me wonder later, but was so rushed... Man who brought the pizza gave me some water. Soggy, thin crust, sparse cheese... just not worth the high price I paid. The snooty service and super loud atmosphere almost had me give this a one star. I will not come here again, this is my second try and I wouldn't have picked this for our girls night out... someone else chose it. I had called an order in for pickup as my first experience trying out V Pizza. I had even driven to this location over the other based off better reviews. We spent around $40+ for the following: --10 piece V Signature Wings: amazing sizes, very meaty and juicy, but I am more of a fan of fried over oven baked wings --Lunch portion of Pepperoni Rustica: pepperoni are pretty thick in slices and larger than majority of pizza places that gets theirs from thinly sliced prepackage ones --Lunch portion of Margherita V: has more cheese than the classic one Overall, I love that the pizza dough is chewy with a crispy crust, but some may not like how white dough may be underneath. Maybe mine was a little undercooked? But I'm not sure if the thin crust would've handled more cooking time because I wouldn't want that part burnt, so with the white dough it leaves the main pizza part a little soggy with the sauce on it. Regardless, I enjoyed our pizzas with the fresh mozzarellas' gooey and chewy texture since that's my weakness. I would definitely recommend this spot and will be coming back again :) read more

I was craving pizza, like the kind of pizza you get in Italy and found this restaurant on Yelp. I was very excited to see not only did they have an Italian style oven and pizza, but they also have gluten free pizza and other GF options (I have family and friends with celiac and autoimmune issues). A sign on the table said sugar was not added to their sauce because they use San Marzano tomatoes (this made me so happy). We came hungry and ordered a lot of things to share and sample the menu: Meatballs San Marzano (tender and delicious) Pesto Gouda Cavatappi (finally Mac n cheese at a restaurant that is not only creamy but also has flavor!! My new favorite Mac n cheese). V Signature Wings (big and juicy, great marinade, also my new favorite wing flavor) Salsicca Pizza on GF cauliflower crust (good crust, great overall pizza) Vegetarian Pizza on regular crust (great crust, ok flavor profile) Pistachio gelato (very good, let it sit a few minutes to soften and it gets better) Here is the reason I'm docking the restaurant 1 star: unnecessary ingredients. The marinara is so good. The addition of whole cherry tomatoes in the marinara for the meatballs actually takes away from the flavor of the marinara. It's a different flavor profile from the San Marzano and not needed. Likewise adding whole cherry tomato on the veggie pizza wasn't good, slice it up. And finally, the caramelized onions on the wings were unnecessary and again, didn't add to the dish, it was like a after thought that I had to remove from the wings before dipping them in sauce. Save yourself the trouble and don't order from here. I used to recommend this place but no anymore. It keeps declining each visit. Order before my last one the pizza wasn't cooked thoroughly and neither were my veggies. When I called to report it, it was shrugged off. I'm not calling this time because they don't care. I ordered two steak sandwiches and a lunch pizza. I saw in years past the steak sandwich was wrapped to keep it hot and had great flavor, I was told. Today, that was definitely not the case. My steak sandwich wasn't wrapped and the meat was cold upon arrival and I literally live within a 2 min drive. We even waited in the parking lot for it to be ready and grab asap. The meat also had large fat running through it to the point some was cartridge laid as a slice. Because these were laid at the bottom my bread was soaked in grease. The bread looked like a hot dog bun not like a sub roll, in past orders. It was inedible. So the only thing I could do was pick through the meat and eat what I could. I tried dunking a piece of meat in the au jus - no flavor. I'm beyond disappointed. I paid $14 for each sandwich, neither of us pleased. To pay almost $50 for a meal is ridiculous if you have to edit the meal to make it edible and only eat pieces of it. I wouldn't have paid $10 for what I just ate. I could have saved money by buying steak ums. Same thing. read more

The best pizza this side of Cary and possibly all of Raleigh! We frequent this place so often the staff knows us. Highly recommend the V pizza or the Carnivora. Not a meat on pizza person? No problem you cannot go wrong with the classic Margherita either. Make sure you get some Calabrian oil for a little kick. Oh and guess what,Ike wings and salad? Yep, they have that too. Wings are delicious! And the salad is fresh and plentiful. Enjoy! read more

We've been to V pizza a bunch of times and there's a few things that consistently make it a great place to eat.. - The staff is friendly and helpful, many of them appear to have been there for awhile, which might say something about the management as well. - There's almost always a great selection of local beers on draft. - The Pizza comes out HOT and it's excellent. Flavorful crust, quality toppings, and that nice crisp crust that comes from a super hot wood fired oven. I don't think I've ever had to wait for a table, and because they recommend having the pizza hot and fresh, I rarely get take out from them. read more

Back in September, CM Janet planned a virtual pizza-making class, complete with a kit from V Pizza and instruction from Anthony, who runs the restaurant. The pizza I made at home was wonderful, and I finally got to try this place in real life yesterday. As our server, Ryan, explained to us, all of V Pizza's ingredients are imported from Italy. They don't have conventional ovens. Instead, they have two special 1000 degree ovens. The crust is very thin (which I love!), and it has a nice char on the bottom. For me, the lunch special was the way to go. I got a personal cheese pizza with one topping for $10.99. It was large enough that I had two delicious meals from it. My friend got the lunch special Pollo Calabrese pizza. Ryan said it was the spiciest on the menu, and my friend agreed. He loved it and polished off the whole thing. The service was friendly and efficient, and Anthony came out and chatted with us for a minute. They do well with social distancing, too. We ate on their spacious patio, and inside the tables are spread far apart. The patio tables even have umbrellas, which will come in handy during the summer. read more

I'm not normally a pizza fan, but the two pizzas we ordered here really hit the spot! We went on Monday around 1PM, and the place was a bit understaffed. It was hard to flag down a server, but the food made up for it. The Margherita pizza was flavorful with tad of extra acidity from the marinara sauce. The only downside was that the some parts of the pizza were soggy underneath from the sauce. For the Flyin' Hawaiian pizza, we were worried that it would be too sweet because of the honey pancetta and roasted pineapple with brown sugar. That wasn't the case at all. Have been here several times & had a wonderful experience each time. Attentive service and always excellent food. I'm very picky about my pizza. Growing up near Little Italy in NYC have definitely spoiled my tastebuds so it has to meet my tough standards for me to say that this is good pizza! The pizza at VPizza does not disappoint if you're looking for real wood-fired think crusted goodness with authentic quality ingredients. If you want the big chain delivery type pizzas...well...this won't be for you. You could see the pizza chef hand tossing the crust, making it to order. The pizzas always come out piping hot from the wood-fired oven with a delectably crisp crust. You could also tell that much care was given in the ingredient choices and combinations. Highly recommend our favorites, the Margherita, Napoli & Salsiccia...If you like spicy, the Piccante packs a punch! The wings and salads are very good as well. Service is always very attentive with staff rushing to fill our drinks promptly and checking in on us several times to make sure everything is fine. It is obvious that the owners and staff take pride in their product and enjoy what they do. We had two pizzas to go, and both were, at best, average. I understand that getting vegetarian pizza right is not a very prevalent skill. We had their vegetarian pizza with very few toppings (onions, tomatoes, and peppers). Firstly, whoever prepared it seemed to have very small hands. The quantity of veggies was too small :-) or perhaps they were very methodical and gave space between each veggie. Secondly, the way the few dollops of mozzarella very thron in completely took away the sin of eating a pizza. Maybe if we had it there in the restaurant or had one of their favored meaty options, my experience would have been different. Will take me some time to try them again. read more

This is some of the best wood fired pizza I've ever had! My boyfriend and I stopped in here for dinner last Friday night, and we were not disappointed. We ordered the bolognase pizza and (10) wings; (5) signature wings with garlic, herbs and caramelized onions, and (5) Cryin' Hawaiian wings with pineapple, Calabrian peppers and brown sugar. First the pizza....this is some delicious pizza! Dave Portnoy needs to give this place a whirl! The crust is very flavorful, I loved the homemade meatballs, and the slight char on the crust from that wood fired oven. They cook everything in their ovens imported from Italy. Now the wings. The Cryin' Hawaiian wings are hands down, the best I've ever had. You must order them! The signature wings were good, but those Hawaiian wings are on another level. They also have a decent beer menu with a lot of local beers. I had an IPA, and my boyfriend ordered a stout; both were very tasty. We experienced great service too. Tried V Pizza for the first time today and was overall impressed. Ordered via DoorDash. When the pizza arrives there are stickers on the containers with instructions on how to best enjoy your item. We preheated our oven in anticipation of this but after a taste test decided to opt out of cooking our items any further. GF - Carnivora * I have Celiac's Disease and opted for the gluten free crust, which I must add is noticeably smaller than the regular personal size. For an addition $2 charge I opted to add mushrooms. I was less than impressed with the amount added. The pizza was tasty and well seasoned. 8/10 Mac-Attack * My 12 year old son ordered the Mac and cheese pizza on original crust and opted to remove the basil as he's not a fan. He rated an 8/10. He said it could have used a little more sauce and the noodles felt a bit dry. But, he added that the flavors were spot on and he'd order it again. V Signature Wings * We added a side of the signature wings, it is a (5) count. The flavor was robust and when combined with the caramelized onions the flavors married together beautifully. The wings were perfectly cooked and just the right amount of char. They needed no sauce or extra preparation. 9/10 read more

Monthly trek to Traders Joes and stumbled upon this pizza joint. My eyes were greeted by all the razzle dazzle of Christmas. I was greeted and advised I could seat myself. I opted for a booth, scanned the menu and landed on the lunch special, five count of the v-wings, which I paired with a festive Cranberry Ginger's Revenge. The wings arrived speedy, fast, quick. Unsure how to describe the wings but they are NOT the typical wings you find at a pizza joint. They came topped with caramelized onions & delectable seasoning; yummy! Since the pizza is made to order there was a small standard wait but I didn't notice since I was enjoying my wings. The crust was amazing and toppings were perfect. This restaurant has been on my radar for quite some time and was not disappointed for our dinner stop in Cary. Nothing beats wood-fired pizza, AT ALL. Emphasis on Neapolitan pizza and even their wings are wood-fired. The pizza itself had the perfect amount of char and blister to the dough and crust, the ingredients were delicious, but what makes a pizza to me is the amount & quality of the sauce. Not normally a sauced wing guy but their wings were so good and smoky as well. The sauce wasn't too sweet at all, I don't think I've ever had grilled wings that good from any restaurant ever. Beer list had a good selection which was a plus (could have been the luck of the draw between us and the table next to us, but the beer we ordered came in the glass of the brewery, extra points if that indeed was on purpose). The food was great but the experience could have been better. It was a cold day and most of the party I was with didn't feel comfortable eating inside due to covid, so I called ahead of time to check if there was heating outside on the patio and confirmed that there was. However when I got there, they said the heaters don't work... which was super disappointing. We ended up having to eat in the cold which was rough. A little extra communication would have gone a long way. I was a fan of the portion sizes of the pizza. They can easily be shared between two people but if you're really hungry you can definitely eat a whole pie yourself. I got the chicken pollo pizza and it was pretty solid. We stopped into V Pizza last Saturday prior to our movie night (Top Gun Maverick). We had heard about it and I researched the reviews here on Yelp so we decided to check it out for an early dinner. The restaurant is located in the Brier Creek shopping center on the north east end. The center is sprawling but it was easy to find. You can either order at the counter and sit or opt for table service which we did. We sat outside on the patio. It was nice and each table had an umbrella to block out the late spring Carolina sun. Our server was prompt and courteous and gave suggestions regarding the menu. You can order beer and wine at V Pizza or opt for a cocktail from Flask Cocktail Bar which is right next door. Just be mindful you will incur two separate tabs. We opted for a cocktail to start. I had the Tom Collins, my wife had the Meet Me at The Lighthouse. Both were refreshing on this hot day. For an appetizer we got the Napoletana Salad. It was tasty, crunchy, and very nice. Next up we spilt a Paolo pie. It's topped with San Marzano tomato sauce, bufala, mozzarella fresh mushroom, and Prosciutto di Parma. It was delicious!!! Not NYC pizza but, delicious none the less. Afterward, we shared a small cup of chocolate chip gelato. Again, it was fresh and delicious. We had a really nice pre movie meal here at V Pizza! Definitely check this place out! read more

So, the pizza was ok but the service was fairly lacking. Initially was a plus that they had Coke Zero on the menu, but the waitress brought our drinks out and then warned us that there was "something wrong with it." Yeah, they were flat - zero carbonation, but getting someone to bring out a water instead or answer a question about the meatballs (they're a beef / pork mix if you're wondering) just took forever and seemed as though she was disinterested. Back to the food - unique flavors (mac & cheese for example), the crust I liked (but my wife didn't), was relatively soft and doughy. And the flat Coke Zero we didn't drink - was on the tab until we asked them to take it off before paying. It's possible I might place a to-go order in the future but just think there's too many better options to suit my pizza cravings. read more

I genuinely had never heard of this place until someone I follow on Instagram mentioned that there would be a fundraiser for the NAACP here. I jotted a reminder down on my calendar and forgot about it until yesterday--the day of the fundraiser--came around. I ordered a caprese plate and a pizza napoli with black olives for curbside pickup, and was happy to see that all the staff were wearing masks and practicing social distancing. My limited interactions with the employees were all pleasant. And the food-- it was amazing! The caprese plate was excellent, and the pizza was divine. I been to the VPizza in Brier Creek this was my first time at the Cary location. Came on a Sunday around 5pm, it wasn't busy. We sat on the patio but ended up going inside due to thunderstorms approaching. Pizza was good and we were able to create our own. I'm not a beer drinker but hubby said they had a good selection of beer on tap. The service was a little off, and there was some sort of miscommunication. We started out with a waitress who took our order and told us she wouldn't be taking care of us, but then came around three more times asking if we were ok. Then a waiter came over and asked if we ordered already. We ordered a salad to share and start but the pizza came out first. When we asked about our salad the waiter brought the salad in a to go box, we were very confused and just ate it. We never saw the waitress or the waiter again. No one came over to asked if we needed anything else or enjoyed the food. We were sitting there waiting for our check but no one was in sight then the bartender randomly gave it to us. read more

Run, don't walk to this place! My friend and I visited on a Friday night and it was busy. We grabbed a table inside as the patio was full. We stopped by on a Friday evening. Friday is "pizza day" !! Evidentially the same for lots of people because it was pretty crowded. You go to the counter and place your order. They have some beer behind the counter but the bar has a much more extensive beer selection. We chose tonight's special "The Spicy Meatball". My mouth is still on fire !! I did curbside pickup for V Pizza earlier this week. Once again getting these amazing Signature Wings and they did not disappoint. I can go on and on about how tasty the food is here and how I will probably return in the next week or 2 for more wings and a calzone. But I'm sure I did that in my 1st review of the place. However, I feel it important to mention that when bringing my order for curbside pickup, they were not wearing a mask. In order to hand me my order through my window, they were definitely closer than 6 feet. Plus, since they have great customer service skills, the guy was friendly and said a few things during the exchange.
