palitaw
Reggie R.

Bought different kinds of kakanin the other night and so so disappointed!! Man they are old old old! The taste are really old. They taste like they've been in the shelf for 3-5 days. The palitaw is hard and so is the sweet rice bibingka, they feel like as if they were exposed to air for a long time, hopia is ok but still lacks taste. The cheese pandesal is ok. The good thing is the kamote que taste good though a little soggy when i bought them. On the good side staff here are nice, place is small as usual, clean enough, same wherever valerio you go. Now I am having second thoughts of trying the others. Maybe...

Don't ever buy Turon here.Poorly made and taste nasty. The banana was blackened already and taste old. The brown sugar coating was minimal, you couldn't taste how the real Turon is.Save your time and money and just go somewhere else.

My first taste of Spanish Bread was at Valerio's Bakery and loved it! I can never resist stopping in this little shop to pick up a couple packages whenever I'm in the area. At this visit I also picked up a package of Cheese Rolls. All are wonderful with my morning coffee! The taste always brings me back to my first experience. The quality has not changed through the years. It's the only place I'll buy Spanish Bread.

Love this bakery that I just found. I tried Pan de Sal for the first time and expected them to be salty, but they're actually sweet. Ask for the hot Pan de Sal bread! I enjoyed the Karioka sticks. They were chewy and sweet with the crunchy sugar coating outside. The Ube bread was good too. The ladies suggested me to try some different pastries there, but I just couldn't buy too much bread at once. I would love to come back to try all different kinds of pastries they have. It's located at a busy shopping center, and the parking could be a little challenging to find but many cars go and come if you can be a little patient.

Went to purchased 2 bibingka and 2 sticks of karioka at about 6:20 p.m. When I get home within 15, I heated both bibingka and I can see it was sweaty on top and it tastes sour. I heated the 2nd one and it was the same. I called the Valerio's bakery in Panorama City and informed the sales lady who said that the owner was not in. I explained to her what happened and told her that they should not sell the remaining bibingka to other customers. She said that she will inform the baker. I hope this does not happen often.

Cassava Cake. I wish it was softer. Medyo matigas. Sayang.

I didn't like the cassava cake. It was hard. Spanish bread had minimal feeling. We liked the tamales, but quite expensive.

3/$11 and don't know the name, but is goood!!

Had not been here in a while. The service is great like always, I asked about the boiled peanuts and they offered a sample:) The turrón is delicious, never tried it before.

Ube bread, hopia hapon, nilupak

What they sold me was not what I expected. Below average. Siopao dough was not soft. Karaoke less appealing and though.

Small bakery with lots of goodies. A little standoffish staff. Felt awkward being in there.

Chicken empanadas - very dry and dough is hard. Not fresh, maybe baked from 2 days ago. Not going back. $10 minimum for card.

They sell items that are spoiled, low quality ingredients (turon). Will not be returning to this shop. Very poor customer service.

I need to come back to try their cakes but their pastries are good! The selection is limited…read morethough, as they focus on cakes. I stopped by Sunday around 1 to pick up some pastries on my way to a friend's house. It's located in a plaza with a small parking lot. First thing you notice when you step in is that they have a lot of cakes on display. There's no seating either, it's strictly a grab and go place. Both times I came, someone was picking up a cake ahead of me, so that's definitely what to get here. I asked the cashier, and she said that you can either call or came in person to place a cake order. You can also come by and pick up one of their ready made cakes. Will keep this place in mind for the future. I picked up a number of pastries and tried some of them at my friend's place. Here's what I tried: Slice of vanilla roll cake ($2) - very moist but not much cream Almond croissant ($3.50) - loved the almond filling Sponge cake ($2.75) - delicious! Almond cookie ($0.35 each) - tastes exactly like the almond cookies I ate growing up Cream puff ($2) - this was the only thing I didn't like. The puff layers on both the top and bottom were dry Next time I need a cake, I know where to get it!

Really the best bakery in town: they sell pastries and also really the best cake ever!…read moreI had my birthday cake there and you can see the pictures it was white with light, pink decorations, and Strawberry and banana inside. But last night I got the cake for my son's birthday, and I got him a 8" très Leche cake; it had slivered almonds on the side, all around and a layer of strawberries inside for $52 All the guests love that, including my son that enjoyed his birthday cake! Honestly, if I can give six stars to that Bakery I would! It is located in Van Nuys off Sherman Way, one block West of Sepulveda! A true treasure of Bakery

Nice in-market bakery option for the Van Nuys area…read more I stopped by around 9:30 and they were still loading display cases with pastries but a good amount were available then and there The sole cashier was nice and worked fast to help multiple customers at once I ordered a variety of cheese pastries and savory pastries, about 24 total for $45. The pastries are all baked fresh and we're still warm when I got them! They're all good sizes and still relatively cheap like Porto's or 75C bakery I really enjoyed the spinach cheese pastry and although I liked the regular cheese, it seems they use a lower quality feta so it was pretty salty. They're sweet cream cheese pastry was not too sweet but tasted nice and my disappointment with the guava pastry is the food coloring because it was a neon red which it shouldn't be

I stopped by this Lilit Bakery Cafe inside Jons Marketplace to get a pastry before my dentist…read moreappointment. This little cafe has some decent selections of pastry. This cafe is on the right side of the Jons Marketplace right when you walk in. I couldn't decide between the butter croissant or cheese puffs so I asked the lady working which one she would recommend. She said both were good but the cheese puffs are more savory. So I went with the cheese puffs, the bread was okay but I did not like the cheese at all. I think the butter croissant would've been better so next time when I'm back to the dentist.
