Let's start by saying what Valvoline is. Valvoline is a place for quick, convenient fluid maintenance. Valvoline is **not** the place I would trust for mechanical diagnostics or major repairs. I bring my daily driver here. Is it because I can't change my own oil? Nope. It's because sometimes convenience wins. When it's 115° outside and my Durango needs an oil change, I'm more than happy to let someone else crawl underneath it. The pricing can be a little steep, but that's the tradeoff. You're paying for convenience, and convenience usually isn't free. An oil change is about as low-risk and high-reward as automotive maintenance gets. I pull in, stay in my air conditioning for most of the visit, they drain the oil, replace the filter, refill it with synthetic, top off a few fluids, and I'm back on the road without getting dirty or having to clean up the driveway afterward. Do they try to upsell additional services? Absolutely. It comes with the territory. A simple "No, thank you" has always been enough, and they move right along. I honestly don't have much to complain about. I'm usually in and out in about 30 minutes, my vehicle gets what it needs, and I get to cross one more thing off my to-do list. However, my recent visit raised several red flags that left me deeply disappointed with the service standards: ​Unusual Payment Pressure & Distraction: Mid-service, a technician abruptly came over and insisted I pay before the job was completed--something I have never been asked to do here before. Instead of simply running my card, he insisted I walk over to the point-of-sale machine. It felt like a deliberate tactic to pull my attention away and distract me from watching the work being done on my vehicle. ​Coupon Confusion & Runaround: Initially, a technician claimed my $25 coupon wasn't valid. After searching on my own, I found a $15 coupon, which they accepted. Later, I checked the terms of the original $25 coupon again and realized it was valid after all. I had to contact corporate customer service separately to get my bill adjusted. ​Overfilled Oil Pan: To top it all off, I was later informed that they had overfilled my oil pan, requiring them to correct their mistake. ​The core appeal of this business model is being able to watch the technicians service your car right in front of you. Pushing customers to pay early and distracting them undermines that trust. Combined with billing hassles and fluid errors, this visit fell far short of expectations. I drive far out of my way to get a quality oil change and Valvoline has never disappointed me. Yes, it is a little pricey but I don't have to get out of my car which means my furrbabies can come along, I can see all the work they are doing, and I get to see and hear their efficient communications with each other as well as how they all double/triple check each other and I love it. The service is also very quick and always friendly. My Last visit had Jazz as the primary and 4 other name I'm forgetting now (males - Alex,Alex,TJ maybe - one that likes to sing - oh, i cannot recall - sorry, guys!). IF I could give a 0 I would... Didn't have the oil filter for my Diesel Ford Diesel 6.0 so I went and purchased one from Napa. The filter cost $64 I showed them the receipt. Then they didn't have enough oi, So an employee had to go purchase some 1 1/2 hrs. later... Tried to charge full price of $240 for the oil change I said I bought my own filter and the best they can do is only take $20 off Are you freaking kidding me? Then tried to torque my oil cap back on! What a pain in the a$$ these people are! Got in line with three cars in front of me. Moved up at a snail's pace, and finally an hour and a half later, I'm ready to move up in line and take the "next to receive service" spot. Before I can move up, one of the workers informs me that another guy in another line has been waiting longer than me, and will move over to my spot. Which wasn't true, but that didn't matter to this guy. So now I have to wait another 1 1/2 hours for a total of 3 hours in my car, in the heat. Nope!! I left, and will never return. Too many other choices with people that understand the concept of customer service. Do not go here!! ***UPDATE*** Thank you for the response, but I will not be contacting you to receive the obligatory apology and $10 discount on future service. I've found another oil change location. If you really want to enhance your customer experience, here are a few thoughts. 1. Install an awning or cover over the waiting area. You are in Phoenix Arizona, the hottest inhabited place on earth! Maybe even a fan or misting system too. 2. Offer cold bottled water to those waiting. 3. I was in line for an hour before they even got me in and there were only 2 cars in front of me... then it took them 30 minutes to do a standard oil change. Like I drove up I drove out, pulled up I heard and I know THEY heard I pulled up. They ignored me, hid behind the monitor and after a good 2 minutes peaked out - then signaled for me to reverse and change to the next lane. Yeah you won't service my car !! Worst of all only one car being serviced. It wasn't closing time. Horrible! Please don't insult my intelligence, manager for Valvoline, I always get my oil changes from the company. One of the worst places to go. I got there at 1:30 pm and did not get through until 4:30. I was stuck in the middle lane and could not leave. The manager did not come out until i was next to say they been having issues so they are being a little slow today. I saw lane 1 and 2 go fast. Why didn't they close the middle lane? I arrived at 6pm on a monday, an hour before closing. I was worried I may run into grumpy staff, but had quite the opposite experience. All bays were occupied, so I waited - I was greeted by the staff with a friendly smile and was checked in quickly. I wanted to highlight Ricky for his attentiveness and respect. He always asked permission before checking anything inside the vehicle (air filter and clearing the maintenance due screen for me). He loved on my dog and we shared great conversation. The oil change was done quickly with zero complaints. What others may see as "goofing around," per previous reviews, I saw a group of coworkers enjoying their time and having fun. They were cracking jokes together, smiling, and laughing. It was a happy, healthy environment and I was glad to see employees genuinely happy vs. miserable. **TOYOTAS BEWARE** Avoid getting Valvolines "universal coolant with additive" they put green IAT coolant that contains silicates in my 2018 Tacoma that the Manufacturer clearly states "Only use OAT Silicate FREE" they further went on to say "we've used this on hundreds of Tacomas for years" well they have been doing it wrong for years. Most newer vehicles require a certain chemical compatibility for their cooling systems, its not a one size fits all. Mixing different chemicals can cause gelling, loss of corrosion protection and sludge to build up in the cooling system. Only went in for an oil change and now I have to do a full coolant flush and voided my warranty (+$200) the guy also spilled the coolant all over my engine bay when filling my Pink coolant reservoir with Green "Zerex original green Antifreeze/Coolant" which is highly corrosive. It's OK though, he wiped it up with a greasy napkin from his pocket... Unreal! They said we won't be doing anything about it, not even a sorry. Will be reaching out to their corporate office and the BBB to escalate my claim that the Asst Manager Sebastian denied responsibility for. read more

Just left this place. Scheduled an appointment for wheel alignment via mechanic saying I needed one. I had an appointment and still had to wait nearly 2 hours. So the paper didn't match the paper the dealer ship gave me for the alignment being off, then the young gentleman proceeded to tell me that my front wheels are cambered and I need an aftermarket ball joint because the the frame or something was shifted wrong. I said sir my car is fairly new how is that possible? He said that's was the only solution so I said nevermind, and he told me "good luck!" I get the feeling this place is toxic so I'll wait for the manager to comment a toxic response. I will return to another JB's in the future. read more

Customer service doesn't exist here. I always have issues if I give them a groupon coupon. They always try to charge me full price. I no longer get my oil changed here. The last time I went there, there were 3 long lines, when it was my time to get a oil change, they asked me to back up & switch lines because someone in the other line arrived before me. I've been here 3 times previously & they never asked me to move. If the line I'm in moves slow, it is what it is. I remain patient & wait my turn. I've never complained & said I was here before another person. So I don't know why when it was my turn they suddenly had a change in their policy on the lines. The attendant (Gabe) kept giving me bogus excuses when I questioned him about this new policy. When I told him he was full of it, I asked him to leave me alone, & I moved to the other lane. He wouldn't leave me alone. He said they wouldn't service my vehicle. I asked to speak to the manager, he lied again, & said he was the manager. I knew he was lying, no manager would keep providing awful customer service by consistently lying just to save face & ego. No manager would consistently keep harassing me when I call them on their BS & keep harassing me when I asked them to walk away. No manager would challenge me to a fight. Service was TERRIBLE. Sat in line for 2 hours along with another car directly in front of me all because the car that was in the 3rd bay couldn't get his credit card to go through for the service. Instead of swapping us so we could go next in another bay all the tech did was tell us to get in the back of another line which was already wrapped around the lot, keep in mind this was after 2 hours of waiting already. When I got there early in the morning, the lot only had 4 cars. Myself and the Honda in front of me didn't even end up getting a getting oil change here because of how rude, unprofessional and unorganized this location is. We asked for the manager and the tech that was being rude and hostile said he was, his name is SEBASTIAN and he was clearly lying because when we asked the other techs they all pointed to a completely different person. The crew from beginning to end were very respectful and professional. They take COVID precautions and were so polite! This will now be our oil change site. The Yelp site said, closed today. Terrible experience. Waited about 20 mins prior to my turn no big deal and oil change was pretty quick. The issue was they stated I needed a transmission flush. Didn't go over pricing with me. They didn't have the time or capacity to do this. So my 20 mins job turned into two hours. They had me park and turn off the car and wait for someone to come start the transmission flush which took forever. I'm sorry but having someone wait in a parked off car in 104 degree weather isn't fun. Was never offered waiting room I had to go ask after sitting in the car for about 40 mins and sweating my butt off. When I left the price was about $260. I wasn't aware of the large price it's fine I paid it but the whole two hour experience was not the greatest. Then to top it off the manager called me and said well all the workers are out in the heat too. I understand that and I get it and I wish that wasn't the case however I was told the job was going to be 15-20 mins extra and I was there for two hours and I was not prepared to be in a hot parked car without any water. I get you guys are busy but don't offer services that you cannot accommodate.
