Having worked at a car dealership many years ago, I always dread shopping for a vehicle knowing what I would find upon my arrival; a group of sales people standing out front and silently competing with one another to determine which of them would be trying to sell me a car, working hard to get me "in the box," and playing back and forth with the closer and finance manager. This, however, was not my experience at CDJR Van Nuys. My spouse and I were greeted by Adam who was friendly, helpful, and willing to actually listen to our needs rather than push a vehicle that was too costly, or just not right for us. Jimmy, our closer, was equally as helpful and patient, even when we told him we were still in the early stages of the buying process and were still considering other options. Communication is not good in the service department. I brought my older van in for minor repairs - a new belt, possible tire leak, possible break adjustment - and picked it up after only receiving one call and NO results. Had I not stopped by in person, my car would have stayed there through the holiday weekend because the tech assigned to it was off for three days. They even identified which belt needed to be replaced but didn't complete the job. How hard is it to call and ask if they can hold onto the car? Even taking possession of my car was a 30-minute process: my paperwork was apparently locked in the tech's tool box so someone had to open it up. Silly. I won't return. read more

My Edge was too mommy and I was thinking about a Durango, so I came to the Jeep dealer with much too long of an acronym for its name. My sales guy Riley was polite, helpful, and not pushy. The Durango was much too big, and while I never thought I'd buy a Jeep, I ended up with an awesome 2014 4x4 Grand Cherokee with less than 10k miles for less than 30k. The vehicle is awesome. While I did have a hiccup with the finance department, the GM Kevin ultimately reached out to me and made things right. The fact that Kevin reached out and made things right, made all the difference. In this day and age, car specs and quality are usually pretty equivalent across brands. Management makes all the difference to me because good service usually starts at the top. They deserve 0 stars. Dropped off my car on Friday at 9:30am and was "promised" my car on Saturday at 3pm. Called at 2:30 to get an update but instead I got the rudest customer service. I called and a woman with no enthusiasm answered the called and told me to call tomorrow and speak with "my advisor" regarding my car. Sunday, when the service is closed... then She said that If i wanted to talk to someone to come to the dealer? What are phones for? I called again and waited 25minutes which I drove from encino to the dealer by the time they answered for them to simply hang up. I called again, and then they act they cannot "hear me".... so at this time I'm pissed. I called corporate and they contact the dealer to tel them my car won't be ready for Monday (: so I left.. and when I was out and about the dealer calls and tells me my car is ready.... you know where they failed at? communication. They have such incompetent employees at every department. I got passed around every department and every department lied or hung up on me. Never coming back here... I should have known since I dropped it off and saw them have a internal discussion and attitude to each other... that is when I should have regretted it.. Update- 7-24-19 So after I dealt with the service department, I came home to try and inspect the work that was done.. but guess what?! They damaged my hood release cable and I wasn't able to open my hood. So I had to call again on Monday (7-22-19) and dropped off my car on Tuesday. Same happened: no update on my car and got passed around a couples times. Finally, picked up my car and inspected everything. Alex was very helpful. Everyone else, good luck. NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN! What a pleasant experience!. Car shopping can be daunting. Especially when you are pregnant with 3 young kids in tow. Riley made the experience easier than I ever Imagined it could be. I was immediately impressed with the customer service. I had never heard of Russel Westbrook but somebody should tell him his car lot is first rate. We were greeted at the door and immediately offered water while we told the guy (Riley) what we were looking for as we were looking for a used car. We were told what they had and also offered options but at no time felt pushed or pressured to look at anything out of our price range (this has happened to me at other dealerships). They ended up not having anything for us and Riley took my number and would let me know if anything came available. Four days later I get a text from Riley letting me know they had an option for me but it wasn't exactly the car I was looking for but it was similar and in the price range. This time I lugged my 3 kids and hubby back to see the newer car and once again we were greeted by everyone we came in contact with. They had a great basketball area the kids could play in while we talked and at no time did I feel pressured. All of our options were presented to us and we were NEVER made to feel like we needed to buy now or today. We told Riley the payment we wanted to stay under (knowing that would be difficult but not impossible) and he came in slightly under. With less than perfect credit we got the payment we needed on a loan that was good. I really felt like he cared about my family being safe and in our car. While we were there another car of the same make and model but newer year came in but the mileage was very high. While it was cheaper we didnt take it on the sound advice that with a car that was 2 yrs newer with twice the miles there could be more problems sooner and we had a baby on the way. I hadn't even thought about that and he was totally right. The whole car buying process went quick and smooth. The extra add-ons at the end with the finance guy were expensive but once again they wanted to work with us more than push things we couldn't afford on us. To be honest I wasnt sure how this would go. I read some review and I have visited lots where people just felt slimy, like they just wanted my money. I never once got the feeling from Riley. I went in with the mindset that I need a van, no older than this yr, with no more than this many miles, these amenities and most importantly this price and this payment. I did all this knowing my credit was awesome. I came out with exactly the car I needed at the price point I wanted and only one minor glitch of miscommunication. With that one problem I sent Riley a text and he attempted to remedy the situation. Im not %100 happy with the fix but it was satisfactory. I honestly feel he did what he could. My hubby is not as trusting as I and very skeptical but also felt that Riley was a Gem. Between the attentiveness and care we received, coupled with the getting exactly what we came for after months of research, we lucked out. I read alot of review of this place before we went in. Im so glad I trusted my gut and went back in. We will be replacing our second car soon and it will be at this lot with Riley. PS. Dont mean for this to sound like a glorification but I am really thankful. This could have been a disaster. My kids were acting crazy, they are 3 boys under 7, and it was stressful hunting for a car as this was week 3. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! I came to for a vehicle they advertised. Salesman's name was Mo. seemed like a decent enough guy. Went and looked at the car and I said I like it get me the numbers and let's move forward. He walks away to get his manager. First thing the manager says is no that's a wrong price we can't sell it at that price. I showed him their add and the sticker on the car and he says well we added more options than what is listed. Wanted me to pay an extra $5000 on top of their advertised price. $500 extra for nitrogen in the tires. Are you kidding me. Go to any Costco and they will do that for free. I had heard stories of them trying to bait and switch before but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I told them you could have said something when I called and asked about this vehicle and the price over the phone instead of wasting so much of my time. It was a bit challenging in the beginning to really get this transaction headed in the right direction however once it headed in that direction it was like a "cat out of Hell" no pun intended. Po is an incredible salesman. Both Po and Pablo offered above and beyond customer service. I really enjoyed the both of them. Po was very patient. He spent a lot of time with me on deciding what car I was going to get. When I finally made my decision on the hellcat, he made sure to get me the one I wanted. I own a slew of exotics such as A Wraith, flying spur, A G65, and a 488 Ferrari. I haven't had American muscle in a long time. This Hellcat was a perfect option and man what a fun car. This was by far the worst car buying experience I've ever had! I had a very specific car I was looking for in a very specific color, this being the jeep unlimited Moab addition and stingray black. I went onto Russell Westbrook's website and the advertised price on the website was $49,342 and I even got an email e-price quote at that exact same sales price. I called up Russell Westbrook jeep and let them know I was ready to buy the car that day for that price. I was not trying to negotiate or ask for anything other than the price they quoted me. It's was a full day to even get a call back after speaking to multiple sales people. When I finally did get a call back this morning I was informed that there is a mandatory $1595 charge for a GPS security unit that they had pre-installed on the car. I told them that I was not interested in this option and to please remove it and honor the price they quoted me. They said they could not do that and that it is mandatory and they cannot remove it or remove the charge even though it wasn't included or disclosed on their e-quote they emailed me. I've bought many cars and am aware that the GPS tracking units are required for the dealership to get insurance on the automobiles while they're on the lot. I've run into this before and I have always had it removed because I don't need that option. This dealership uses underhanded sales methods and tacks on additional fees and options that shouldn't be there and are not included in their initial quotes. I will now be buying a $50,000 jeep from another dealership because Russell Westbrook would not honor the quote that they gave me. I will also be in contact with Jeep's corporate office as I feel this dealership gives the jeep brand a bad name. Steer well clear of this dealership! read more

If I want to have your personal belongings gone though and items stolen and lied to ..than this is the place to go ...Literally the worse costumer service I have ever experienced in my life. First they told me my tires did not need to be rotated cause they were fine but then when I confronted them on my car being torn though without my permission and personal item being taken that's when their story changed to they had to look for wheel lock in my car yet never asked me for it even though I was sitting there for 2 hours.. Than after I reported this they turned it around and claim they asked my permission to go though my car and offered to pay for item they stole.. I went in today to get a recall fixed on my chrysler and I got very good service from the service tech but when the manager needed to get involved it was terrible. The service manager was so rude to me,he didn't want to give me a rental and sent me away to drive a car that was unsafe and could cause death because of the faulty airbag. I came in with a pre-approval from Capital One and I got a good deal on a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. Typically, when you walk in with a pre-approval, it's assumed you will get financing through that institution and the dealership will run your credit against that pre-approval. Tell me why I got a notification from my credit monitoring service that I now have an account open with TD Auto Finance?? NOT ONCE during negotiations or paper signing did this institution come up. And it's not like my application was denied with Capital One, because the only credit inquiry present on my credit report is the one from TD Auto Finance which means they did not even attempt Capital One. There is a reason why I wanted to go through Capital One. I already bank with them. It would be easy to make payments through them. But no. This CDJR chose to go rogue and finance with another provider that probably offers them some sort of incentive for financing through them and that does not sit well with me. I have tried to get in contact with the finance department several times to no avail. Do what you will with this information but I suggest going to a dealership that runs their business transparently with their customers. read more

The service here used to be great, now they are Terrible. I went in on a Saturday to get my oil changed and have them trouble shoot/ fix my breaks. This took them 2 weeks to fix and would have probably taken longer if I didn't make and effort to check up with them on my cars status. Here is the long story. They diagnosed my car Saturday and told me it would be fixed and ready to go on Thursday. Thursday came an I did not get a call that my car was fixed. I called them the following day (Friday) and my adviser (Hector) was not there so I talked to Oscar regarding the status of my car. He told me that they are still trying to find the problem with by brakes. I told him that my car has been diagnosed and was informed the car was supposed to be ready Thursday. He got the correct information (the info I received) from someone and then told me my car should be ready Saturday. Saturday came and no call, so I called up on Sunday. I called up on Sunday and guess what, they do not do Service work on Sunday , so I got to talk to a receptionist or something like that. She told me my car is not ready. So at this point I told her that I just wanted to come in pay for the oil change and diagnose and take my car back. Then she put me on the phone with their Customer Service rep. He told me I cannot get my car because the car is in pieces (as in the parts that I need to dive the car have been removed) Then he offered to come in and pick up a loaner car and that my adviser will call me on Monday. My adviser called me told me the problem and will get back to me when they figure out the problem. Little did i know they wouldn't figure out the problem until Thursday (a week later than the original fix estimate.) They sent me a message on Thursday that the car is fixed and they need to keep it for one more day (Friday) to double check everything and they will call me when it is ready. Friday came and no call that my car was ready. Saturday comes and I did not receive a call until 6pm that my car is ready to pick up. read more

Where do I begin? I walked in this dealership dissapointed from Rydell in San Fernando who had the worst customer service and felt like I entered the gates of heaven... I have always been a Benz and Beemer owner and for the 1st time I decided to go with an American car and had the pleasure and honor to come across a salesman who was an absolute darling by the name of PO.. I immediately told him that I just had an awful experience at another dealer, explained that I was shopping for a Jeep, told him I was not too familiar of all the different models, spoke about price range and he took his time to explain in detail the different models and walked with me in the freezing cold, taking his time, walking from car to car and explaining everything I needed to know. He was very knowledgeable, patient and personable! He understood what I was looking for and did not waste my time looking at models that were not right for me. After spending time with me and listening to my financial budget concerns, he guaranteed me that he will do his best to accomodate my budget and thats when I had the pleasure to come across JACOB, the sales manager.. WOW!! Let me tell you, I had walked in wanting to purchase and old Jeep and walked out of there with a brand new 2019 Jeep.. Between these 2 gentlemen, I can tell you I had the best experience ever! They exceeded my expectations in customer service and made me happy in every way!!! The price Jacob was able to offer me was phenomenal!! As I was sitting around looking at the atmosphere of this place, I realized that the employees were very close knit and had a family style interaction going which made it so pleasant. We were ready to buy a jeep Grand Cherokee on 01/03/21, and went to their Finance person LESLIE AGUILAR, to sign. That is when it went all down hill. My wife and I have bought/leased about a dozen cars from different dealerships, and have never seen such unprofessionalism. I guess he had a bad day. I was making small talk as he was printing out our paperwork and asked him if he ever met Russell Westbrook, and he said "The guy has never stepped foot in this dealership, so no". My wife and I looked at each other like "ok". Then something went wrong with the numbers sent over from the sales desk, and when the salesperson asked him to fix it, he told the salesperson to go fix it cause that is not his job. When the salesperson left, he told me "what am I his bitch, I am not going to fix that". I was shocked at the level of language and disrespect and use of language in front of my wife. Then the final kicker, was when questioning something in the contract, he said "this contract is in English, and you are speaking Chinese...(I am not of Asian decent, but was still offended). LESLIE AGUILAR was the reason this deal died and ultimately why we decided to walk out. Perhaps he was having a bad day, but I think this is the culture at this dealership. We got a call back from a woman, several days later, and claimed she was a manager and that if there is anything she can do, but at that point we had already bought a car. read more
